Searching for Clair Huxtable LIVE was an event that filled the rollercoaster of emotions we all have. Laughing, crying, fussing, fighting, and cussing were the highlights of this event. We left on a high note of knowing there are still many differences in thought and understanding that exist between the Black Man & Black Woman’s point of view. The good thing is we agreed to agree on many topics … disagree on a few key points. Guests included Brandon, Chari, Eboni, Karima, Nicole, Tiffany and of course Maceo & WAE.

Race, society, roles, and sex all played out in discussions ranging from a man ‘whipping it out,’ to Black Women being in the corner of Black Men who may/may not be in theirs. We thank all our guests and welcome you to listen to this intriguing and engaging live discussion.

We live in a society where men having a “side chick”, also referred to as a mistress (if married), happens way too much. To some men, being in a relationship without a side-chick is like eating a meal without something to drink – Yes, it can be done, but it not as enjoyable. No matter society’s opinion of a side chick, there are plenty of women who go along with this dynamic. Sometimes it’s the part a woman chooses to play, and other times it’s a role given to them and they try to deal with it. So why is this particular woman finding herself as just the side-chick and not the main chick? Could it be that it’s a role she accepts? TV shows like “The Real Side-Chicks of Charlotte”, custom T-Shirts promoting the behavior, even a “Side Chick 10 Commandments” and “Side Chick Contract”s would prove that this role is not only embraced but welcomed.

Now if you didn’t know that, then not only would you be asked to “Pick Your Poison” right now, but your “Hood Pass” or “Ghetto Card” should be revoked! “Submission” has become a buzzword of sorts. At some point in the dating process its mentioned by us (men) as a desirable trait. But when we do, eyebrows are raised, eyes start rolling, and in most cases, an argument is about to ensue. It’s a frustrating conversation that women seem to go apeshit over. They hear us say we want a submissive woman and they envision a man wanting a woman like to Vanessa Bell Calloway’s character in “Coming to America”, the type of woman who answers every question with, “whatever you like” and will hop on one foot while barking like a dog (if necessary) to please her man. So, let’s explore this relationship dynamic and discuss what qualifies a man to lead and a woman to submit. In today’s metro-sexual charged society and apparent feminization of black men in the media, do black women even believe the black man is capable? Or maybe something is getting lost in translation between ‘Mars’ and ‘Venus’, and women need a clear und [...]

Birth control, Emergency contraception, and Abortions are hot-button topics that should be mandatory discussions in a relationship. Everyone knows that Birth control is designed to prevent pregnancy, but Birth control methods work in a number of different ways. To be clear, “the morning after pill” or “Plan B” falls under the category of Emergency contraception and is NOT a form of birth control…. or at least it shouldn’t be viewed/used as such. So if you are sexually active or planning to be, don’t use Emergency contraception as your only protection against pregnancy. In addition, Emergency contraception does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

“Plan B” pills are a great way to prevent pregnancy up to 72 hours after unprotected sex and can be used as a resource if a condom breaks or other means of birth control fails. Well, well, well. We’ve finally made our way to the topic of “Sex Toys”. Although finding a woman who is against sex toys is pretty rare nowadays, some men, however, are a little intimidated by the idea of bringing a little ‘something-something’ extra into the bedroom. Considering the orgasm-inducing power of some sex toys, it makes sense.

Female (and male) sex toys have been on the rise for years, and more and more people are using them with their partners. A recent survey issued by “Lelo Global Sex” found that 72% of those who own sex toys use them with their partners. Of the women out there who own two or more sex toys, only 28% of them are single, in comparison to the 62% who are in committed relationships.
