| BREAKING NEWS on the Future of Flight House Gym, & Jay Collins' Quest to Build the Nation's TOP Fitness Brand! | 05 Oct 2026 | 01:01:51 | |
Flight House Fitness is on a mission to revolutionize the fitness industry. And Jay Collins will not stop until that vision has come to life. Formerly the owner of MaxEdge Fitness, the 59-year-old Collins bet the house (literally) a few years ago when he built Flight House Gym in Rye, a massive facility combining group training classes and open gym space in ways the Seacoast had never seen before. Then, just three months ago, he launched Flight House into its next era when he opened an incredible 24,000 square foot facility in Charlestown, Mass., a gym that's attracting intense social media attention, celebrities, athletes and comparisons to the New England Patriots' own facilities. And after seeing the early success of Flight House in Charlestown, Collins is ready to bring that concept - which also features yoga and pilates classes and a recovery center - to the Seacoast, which he reveals for the very first time on today's show. From Flight House Gym in Charlestown, Collins joins host Troy Farkas for the third time to discuss the early success of the Charlestown location, what makes this gym one of the very best in the country, why he's already looking at bringing Flight House to other major U.S. cities, his growth as an entrepreneur, and how he's bringing the new-and-improved Flight House to the Seacoast. | Pre-Dead Social Club: The One Thing Every Human Has in Common (And NOBODY Wants to Discuss!) | 14 Sep 2026 | 01:01:15
We don't know how to talk about death. Longtime Seacoast resident Laura Cleminson wants to change that. At the Pre-Dead Social Club, Seacoast residents of all ages gather monthly for a "die-a-logue" at author talks, panel discussions, and Death Over Drinks, the club's signature event. Cleminson, who also delivered a TEDx Portsmouth talk in 2024, became fascinated with death a decade ago when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She noticed she had no tools for helping her mother through that time, a realization that eventually led her to become a death doula and the founder of the Pre-Dead Social Club. From the West End of Portsmouth, Cleminson joins host Troy Farkas for a wide-ranging discussion about death - why we avoid it, her first experiences with it, how to better help our loved ones during that time, how the Pre-Dead Social Club has taken off in the last three years, and why it's welcomed nearly 1,200 people through its doors since then. | She Lost the Biggest Deal of Her Career ... Then Everything Clicked. Plus, TROUBLING Fitness Trends (Kick It By Eliza) | 03 Aug 2026 | 01:10:42
She built a global fitness brand without investors, business degree, or plans for becoming an entrepreneur. When Eliza Shirazi graduated from UMass, she thought she'd spend her career working in public health. Fitness classes were simply a side hustle—a way to make a little extra money after work. Over the next decade, that side hustle became Kick It by Eliza, a kickboxing-inspired worldwide fitness community that has transformed thousands of lives through live events, instructor certifications, social media content to her 25,000 Instagram followers, online memberships, and partnerships/appearances with brands like New Balance, NBC's "The Today Show," POPSUGAR, and more. But as is often the case, things don't always appear as they seem. In this conversation with host Troy Farkas, Portsmouth's Shirazi opens up about the rejection that's shaped her, the sponsorship deal she lost just when everything seemed to be working, the imposter syndrome she felt training in the boxing ring with George Foreman's son, the nerves she felt before making the biggest media appearances of her life, and the terrifying uncertainty of watching the pandemic threaten everything she'd spent years building. This episode, which is presented by Degree Wellness Seacoast, is about much more than fitness. It's about betting on yourself before anyone else does, learning to separate your own dreams from everyone else's expectations, embracing rejection as a competitive advantage, and discovering that the biggest opportunities often arrive disguised as your worst setbacks. | The Rise and Fall of Portsmouth's Most Beloved Bar! The Red Door Ex-Owner on FAMOUS Espresso Martinis & How Portsmouth Changed | 27 Jul 2026 | 00:59:53
How does a tiny, hidden cocktail bar with no sign, no advertising, and (almost) no rules become one of the most beloved institutions in a city's history? Cresta Smith, the co-founder of the legendary bar The Red Door, joins host Troy Farkas this week to discuss the iconic Portsmouth speakeasy that shaped an entire generation of nightlife (and espresso martini lovers) on the Seacoast. From opening night in 2003 to her departure in 2014 and the bar's closure in 2017, Smith reveals the untold story of building a business entirely on instinct and word of mouth. She shares how a chance conversation with restaurateur Jay McSharry changed her life, why she refused to put a sign on the building, the secret behind their famous espresso martinis, and how The Red Door became the place everyone ended their night. But beneath the success was another story. The pressure of running one of Portsmouth's busiest bars... the mental toll of always being "on"... the temptations that came with success... and the unlikely companion that ultimately saved her. This isn't just the story of a bar. It's about ambition, identity, addiction to momentum, knowing when to let go, and why the places we remember most are often impossible to recreate. From there, he fell in love with the area, and when his Coast Guard stint ended, he pursued a variety of jobs and hobbies that all involved making things with his hands, including making wooden spoons. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** This podcast contains discussion of suicide. Listener discretion is advised. It's a miracle that Victoria Arlen is still here. Before the age of 10, she entered into a vegetative state after getting diagnosed with two rare neurodegenerative diseases. From there, the Exeter, N.H. native lived incapacitated for four years, with doctors and nurses instructing Arlen's parents to accept that their daughter wouldn't live much longer. Then, on a day that continues to baffle medical professionals everywhere, she emerged from this state. And since then, against all odds, she's taken the world by storm in the form of gold medals at the 2012 Paralympic Games, a run on ABC's Dancing With The Stars, a stellar motivational speaking career, a 10-year tenure as an anchor for ESPN, and now, a two-time author. The 31-year-old's most recent book, The View Is Worth It, published in the spring, and it's her firsthand account of how she's navigated anxiety, depression, and the weight of expectations placed upon her when she was asked to be hero without ever having worn a cape. From The Unmuted Room in Newington, N.H., Arlen joins host Troy Farkas for a wide-ranging discussion about Arlen's Seacoast roots, the experience of being "locked in" to her body for four years, the abuse she experienced at the hands of doctors and nurses, and how she miraculously emerged from the state. Plus, how she became the youngest on-air talent in ESPN history, her stint on DWTS, and the lengthy battle with mental health issues that inspired her latest book, and, in 2021, nearly led her to take her own life. | The Ogunquit Playhouse: Inside the WORLD-CLASS Theater That's Created Broadway Hits, Hollywood Legends, & 93 Years of Memories! | 22 Jun 2026 | 01:04:04
The Ogunquit Playhouse is not just some theater on the side of the road in Ogunquit, Maine. Every summer for the last 93 years, this "little white box" in one of New England's most eclectic cultural hubs has played home to world premieres of global theatrical sensations, many of which later make their way to the stages of Broadway and London's famed West End. The actors and actresses whom Ogunquit attracts have shelves filled with Tony Awards, ditto for the world-class behind-the-scenes crew members. And perhaps best of all, its $18M annual operating budget allows the Playhouse to pay above-average wages to talented artists in a field notorious for failing to provide a meaningful living. And now, as the Playhouse inches closer to its 100th season on the Seacoast, the not-for-profit entertainment venue has its eyes on the next century, and how the theater can adapt to survive an increasingly difficult artistic climate. From the historic main stage of The Ogunquit Playhouse, Technical Director Geof Dolan (20 years) and Executive Artistic Director Brad Kenney (21 years) sit down with host Troy Farkas to discuss the origins of the summer theater in America, how the Playhouse established itself as a world leader in theater, the caliber of talent they attract every summer, how they choose which shows to put on each year, what the Playhouse means to the Seacoast, the theater's ambitious plans for the next century, and more. | Top Seacoast Chef Evan Mallett on 20 YEARS of Black Trumpet, the Role of Restaurants, & the Fight For Social Justice | 27 Apr 2026 | 01:15:49
Restaurants play an important role in society. But according to six-time James Beard nominee Evan Mallett, that role may not be what you think it is. Today, the chef/owner of Black Trumpet, a legendary downtown Portsmouth restaurant, joins host Troy Farkas for a wide-ranging discussion about Mallett's untraditional culinary background, the WILD road that led him to open one of the Seacoast's top restaurants 20 years ago, why he's bullish on foraging and using local ingredients, and the CRITICAL role restaurants play in a community. Plus, the origin story of Farm-a-Q, and how the 2020 murder of George Floyd led Mallett, Vida Cantina's David Vargas, and Portsmouth assistant mayor Jo Kelley to start the New England BIPOC Fest. | Women's Wellness PIONEER Dr. Noor Al-Humaidhi on Misunderstanding Menopause & HRT! Plus, the EXPLOSION of Her Business 🚀 | 02 Mar 2026 | 01:11:35
Dr. Noor Al-Humaidhi is a pioneer in the field of women's wellness. A doctor who has spent decades studying and practicing medicine in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and, since 2017, the United States, Dr. Noor has seen just about everything you can see in her field. In the U.K., women used to visit Dr. Noor, often complaining of memory lapses and unexplained feelings of confusion. For years, Dr. Noor would prescribe medication and then send them on their way. Because back then, modern medicine didn't understand (or care to) treat women who were clearly undergoing what we now understand to be perimenopause and menopause. But when Dr. Noor herself started experiencing perimenopause during the pandemic - and when she began hormone replacement therapy - she realized she could bring a whole new level of care to the Seacoast and beyond. Enter Lifestyles By Noor, an Exeter-based business which offers comprehensive 1:1 care to help women (and now men) get back to feeling like their best selves. Plus, to her 126,000 (and quickly-growing) Instagram followers, Dr. Noor regularly posts videos for women undergoing health issues that most of the medical industry is still trying to wrap its head around. From her office in Exeter, Dr. Noor and host Troy Farkas sit down to discuss why women's wellness was so under-researched for so long, her personal experience of perimenopause, how the idea for Lifestyles By Noor smacked her in the face, why her business has taken off since launching it in 2023, her own personal wellness routines, and more. Plus, what it was like working in the U.K.'s NHS system, that time Troy got hit by a car in London, and Dr. Noor's childhood years in Kuwait. Later this week, the top athletes in the world will walk in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, the dream for nearly every young athlete everywhere. Seabrook's Scotty Lago knows what it's like to make that walk. In 2010, he represented the United States of America at the Vancouver games. At 22 years old, he faced all the pressure in the world. And he delivered ... until he didn't. After perfectly executing a run he'd never performed before, Lago (unthinkably) won the bronze medal in the men's half pipe, earning himself a spot alongside legendary teammate Shaun White on the podium, who took home the gold. Then, a couple hours later, an inappropriate photo of Lago celebrating his accomplishment surfaced on TMZ, and then things began to unravel. Shortly after the photo spread online, the United States Olympic Committee sent him home, prematurely ending Lago's only Olympics experience. From his home in South Hampton, N.H., Lago joins host Troy Farkas to talk about what happened that night, and how the Seacoast fully stood behind him when he returned home. He also talks about how he found snowboarding in the first place, why he "floated" after retiring from the sport a decade ago, his love for hunting, and why he's now pursuing a career on YouTube. And, perhaps most importantly to Lago, he explains how he's rediscovered his devotion to his Christian faith after going on a men's retreat in Maine last year. Until one day in 2020, she received a phone call from her cousin, a call that would eventually inspire the formation of The Aplomb Project, a Dover-based nonprofit which uses the power of art to help trauma survivors overcome their dark pasts, and to celebrate how far they've come in their recovery. From her art gallery in Dover, Danielle joins host Troy Farkas to discuss what happened on that phone call, why she decided to start painting portraits of trauma survivors, the extensive (and emotional) process of painting each survivor, how the Seacoast art community has rallied around the project, why the studio has become a healing space for all who enter, and so much more. To learn more about the art cafe, splatter room, exhibits, events, and open gallery hours, please visit TheAplombProject.org. CHAPTERS:

| EXCLUSIVE: Business & Real Estate MOGUL Anthony DiLorenzo On Hearth Market's Failure, Buying the McIntyre Building, & Running for U.S. Congress! | 05 Jan 2026 | 00:52:08 | |
Anthony DiLorenzo lived the American Dream. The son of immigrants, DiLorenzo bounced around as a child. After attending UNH in the 1980s, he decided to call the Seacoast home for the long haul. Not long after, he bought one car dealership, and then another, and another. Today, Anthony's Key Auto Group is one of the largest auto dealership chains in New England. Throughout his 30+ years in business, he's hired thousands of employees, solved countless problems, and earned millions upon millions of dollars. With his personal fortune, he's regularly given to several Seacoast nonprofits, donated $4 million to UNH's athletic complex, and he also purchased the infamous McIntyre Building in Portsmouth for $9 million. And due to all his business success, Anthony is confident he can win another uphill battle: This fall, DiLorenzo (R) announced he's running for New Hampshire's 1st Seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026. His overarching message? To make the American Dream possible for New Hampshire citizens once more. From the West End of Portsmouth, Anthony joins host Troy Farkas for a wide-ranging discussion, where the two discuss Anthony's humble beginnings, growing his auto empire, what he loves about New Hampshire, why the Hearth Market failed, and his ambitious plans for making the McIntyre Building a community hub. Plus, Anthony discusses his approach to solving some of the nation's most pressing issues, like the healthcare system, college tuition prices, skyrocketing national debt, political polarization, and more. Natalie Tilton always knew. As a child in Lowell, Mass., she knew helping people was her calling. Fast forward three decades, and now the former Division I (and near Olympian) athlete is quickly taking over the physical therapy genre on the Seacoast. From her basement, she provided clients with personalized 1-on-1 care, a critical component of healthcare she felt was missing from her previous job. From the West End of Portsmouth, Natalie joins host Troy Farkas for a wide-ranging discussion, where the two discuss her earliest memories of wanting to be a PT, working with Red Sox players while attending Northeastern, moving to Newmarket, N.H., after meeting her husband online, her issues with traditional PT, the scary life-changing moment that made her reevaluate her career, launching Ability Allies, and later expanding it to four locations. Plus, Natalie lays out three critical things you must do to stay on top of your health in 2026. To book a PT appointment with Natalie and her amazing staff, you can visit AbilityAllies.com. CHAPTERS:
