You know that the service you provide is insanely valuable, but you can't make the connection between the island your customer is sitting on and the value island you're trying to get them to. Your skills are superb, and you can't understand why THEY can't understand that they need you.
In this episode, Macy covers:
the difference between persuasion as a process vs being pushy
converting someone from a buyer to a believer
knowing your work is worthy + worth doing

Would you believe us if we told you it can happen + happen quickly? That the selling can feel as smooth as the service you're so comfortable providing. You don't have to change what you do - it's about changing HOW you do it.

SALES GIRL SUMMER: How Sales Girls Play with Macy McNeely
16 Jun 2023
00:36:40
Your Sales Girl Summer is loading....
“My business is slow right now because of the recession.” “I’m taking it easy this summer, I want to make memories.” “No one really buys in June or July, so I’ll pick it back up in August.”
Do any of these sound familiar? They’re quick simple statements that tell a deeper story. The story that you don’t have control over your outcomes. The economy does, your customer does, your kids do (woah).
And let me ask you, because maybe you haven’t realized it; how does it make you feel when you think someone else has control over your outcomes? Defeated? “Why try?” Like you can’t get ahead if you wanted to?
This is the path most people go down in the summer. They enter maintenance mode, which, like cruise control, can only “maintain” for about 5 seconds before the ditch is the destination. Maintenance always leads to decline somewhere. I guess it’s not maintenance mode after all.
This does not have to be your summer story.
YOU can decide right now to take the wheel. You are a winner, in the driver's seat, who knows where they’re going. That every bump and turn and detour teaches you a driving lesson.
In today's episode, Macy covers:
focusing on the game instead of focusing on the scoreboard
what playing actually means
learning to love whatever it takes

This week's episode has sparked {pun intended} some great conversation around what comes first - the mindset or the skill set. In this follow up episode, Macy tells two different stories that unpack that thought further.

Macy's back + she's better than ever! You may not have heard from her directly over the past several weeks while she was home with her new baby, but that doesn't mean that she wasn't working to develop herself and ideas behind the scenes.
One of those is the idea of pouring gasoline over a fire vs. pouring gasoline over dirt. When you pour gasoline over dirt, what happens? Nothing. You just have some wet, smelly dirt. But when you pour gasoline over a fire what happens? It ignites and is magnified.
In today's episode, we cover:
what comes first, skill or belief?
why playing the game is worth it every time.

Most of us know him, love him, and trust his advice. Loy's been a long time fan of Dave's; in fact the reason Loy created core values in his business and his personal life was because he was so inspired by Dave Ramsey.
On an episode of his podcast, Dave talks about a key principle he believes in - never borrow money. In today's episode of School of Sales, Loy talks about why he doesn't stand behind that as a universal principle and how it is okay to take a risk when you're properly leveraging your assets.
