You Can't Burn Spirit: A Father's Horrific Act of Revenge | Spencer Connelly - 90013 avr. 202500:53:27

Imagine this…

You’re five years old, and the world is at your feet.

You’re in the car with your eight-year-old bro, just picked up from childcare by your dad.

But your dad has a plan.

That plan involves two gas cylinders he’d strategically placed in the back seat earlier that day… and a cigarette. A horrific act of revenge. A father prepared to kill his two sons (and himself) to spite their mother. Not just to rob her of custody, but to take her children from her entirely.

Spencer Connelly doesn’t have to imagine this. It’s his life. A life he’s lucky to still be living. That man, his ‘father’ might be released from prison in the next 12 months. Because apparently, such a monstrous act only warranted a little over a decade behind bars.

Spencer is now 17. I just recorded a podcast with him after my dad met him at the grocery store and was enamoured by his spirited personality and kind demeanour.

Turns out, he now attends the same school I did back in the day.

After an hour of banter, I can tell you this much… Spencer is a testament to the BEST of humanity.

Strength.

Kindness.

Love.

Acceptance.

Peace.

People like Spencer lift us all up.

It’s moments like this that make me feel so bloody grateful to do what I do and be able to connect with such incredible humans. Oh, and he featured in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga so he’s kind of a big deal

Girls Making History | Tara Morrison - 89909 avr. 202500:58:06

This ep I’m hanging out with 21-year-old pocket rocket and Aussie road racing prodigy Tara Morrison... and let me tell you, she ain't just riding motorcycles, she’s rewriting the books. Tara's the only female racer in all three national ASBK (Australian Super Bike Championship) classes, taking on the boys and carving up the track like an absolute legend. From her first time knee-down in her mum’s leathers to breaking records (and bones), this girl's grit is next level.

We chat about the sheer physicality of racing, what it's like being a woman in a male-dominated sport, and why falling hard only fuels her fire even more. You’ll hear about her track day evolution, what it takes to compete (a helluva lot), and how one epic win saw her cross the finish line ahead of the 40 blokes, fist in the air and history made.

This one’s for anyone who knows that behind every win is a thousand sacrifices, and the ones who go hardest are usually the ones told they shouldn’t even be there.

The Evolutionary Tug-of-War: Today’s World, Yesterday’s Psychological Software | Bill von Hippel - 89806 avr. 202501:02:24

Evolutionary psychologist Bill von Hippel joins me in this ep to pull back the curtain on how our minds got wired, why our ancient instincts still run the show in today's modern world, and what that means for connection, courage, happiness, and that frustrating tug-of-war between who we are and who we think we should be.

We talk about what resilience really is (and what it isn’t), how our desire to 'stand out' often leaves us disconnected, and the tricky balance between autonomy and belonging. I ask Bill why we keep doing the (often stupid) things that make us miserable even when we know better, how to outsmart our own brains, and how understanding the wiring beneath the behaviour can start to shift everything.

When Strength is Just Survival in a Fancy Dress - Bobby Cappuccio - 89702 avr. 202501:15:59

Well, we covered a bit of everything in this one... starting with cats on blankets and bald heads and somehow ending up deep-diving into trauma, identity, post-traumatic growth, and how sometimes our greatest strengths are just cleverly disguised coping mechanisms. Bobby Cappuccio is back, and (as always) he brought his brilliant, curious mind and that beautifully round noggin of his.

This banter was like opening the doors of our own minds and rummaging around in the boxes we usually keep tucked away in the back. The difference between resilience and dissociation, the role of autonomy in healing, the impact of energy and environment on who we become, and how experimenting with life (like baking sourdough or moving house AGAIN) can lead to profound self-awareness.

Typical of Bobby and I, it's reflective and riddled with paradox... because as humans, we’re often walking contradictions. We want connection but fear vulnerability. We crave change but cling to comfort. We want to stand out and still fit in.

If you've ever felt a little bit broken, a little bit different, or like you’re constantly trying to figure out the 'right' way to be… this one’s for you. No answers, just honest conversation and maybe a few aha moments.

The Illumination Doesn't Last | Dr. Jodi Richardson - 89630 mars 202501:04:54

You know when you hit record with a friend and suddenly the conversation cuts straight through the noise? That’s exactly what happened here with Dr. Jodi Richardson. No agenda. No roadmap. Just two curious minds, a million hats, and a whole lot of real-life chit chat.

We talk about the merry-go-round of modern life, what it means to really stop, and why sitting still can sometimes feel harder than the hustle. We unpack the guilt that creeps in when we rest, how to untangle self-worth from productivity, and why fun isn’t a selfish luxury, but a selfless non-negotiable, in fact.

Less Estrogen, Less F*$ks to Give... Mastering Menopause | Angela Cousel - 89526 mars 202500:58:21

Menopause gets a bad rap... and rightly so! But it's not all doom and gloom, in fact, not at all if we can prepare for it and get our bodies thriving at this time of our lives. And as this episode title proudly boasts, with less estrogen comes the wonderful state of less giving a f*$k, which can be quite liberating for us women who have lived our lives giving far too many of them along the way.

So, buckle up as we dive into a topic that doesn’t get nearly enough real talk. Menopause. And who better to guide us through it than Angela Counsel, naturopath, menopause coach, and all-around legend in the space?

Now, menopause isn’t just hot flushes and mood swings like we can often mistakenly believe... it’s a whole-body, whole-life transition, and Angela’s here to tell us why it doesn’t have to be the horror story we’ve been conditioned to expect. In fact, she’s got a whole different perspective.

We get into the nitty-gritty of how hormonal changes impact everything from weight to energy levels to mindset. Angela shares why some women sail through menopause while others hit what feels like a hormonal brick wall, and the surprising role that genetics, lifestyle, and stress play in all of it.

If you’re staring down the barrel of menopause, already in the thick of it, or just want to be better prepared, this episode is packed with insight, practical advice, and a whole lot of real talk.

Global Poo Etiquette (And Other Deep Life Lessons) | Patrick Bonello - 89423 mars 202501:17:53

Well, I don’t know how we ended up here, but somehow, this episode of Roll With The Punches went deep (maybe too deep) into the intricacies of sleep habits, morning routines, global poo etiquette, and the unexpected life lessons that come from learning new things as an adult.

As always when Patrick swoons in our chats are anything but conventional. As we dive headfirst into a topic nobody saw coming - the science of squatting, bidets, and how different cultures approach their bathroom business. Turns out, Patrick has done extensive research into the art of the squat toilet, and I might have just ordered myself a Squatty Potty mid-conversation. Who knew bowel mechanics would be such a hot topic?

But it’s not all toilet talk (promise). We also explore something that’s been on my mind a lot lately - learning new things as an adult. I share how I recently picked up the piano (yep, Aussie's most promising concert pianist in the making) and why stepping into a completely unfamiliar world has been both challenging and exhilarating. Patrick, on the other hand, took up singing during COVID and now performs with a choir, proving that it’s never too late to start something new.

Tune in, have a laugh, and maybe walk away with a new perspective on learning, mindfulness, and, well… better toilet habits.

You Are Not Your Diagnosis (Or Your Bullsh*t Self-Talk) | Dr. Paul Conti - 89319 mars 202501:03:58

Dr. Paul Conti is back, and we are getting stuck into the real head stuff. Ever feel like life’s charging ahead while your brain’s still trying to process what the hell just happened? Same. Dr. Conti reckons trauma, identity, and mental health all play a bigger role in that than we realise... And given he's one of the leading experts in trauma and mental health, I'm all ears!

We chat about how trauma sneaks in and shapes our thinking, and why so many of us get stuck in identities that don’t even fit us anymore. Turns out, mental health isn’t just about slapping a label on yourself and calling it a day - it’s about actually understanding how your mind works and taking charge of the narrative.

We also dive into self-talk (spoiler: yours might be more brutal than you think), why sarcasm and self-deprecating humor can be a sneaky form of self-sabotage, and how changing up your environment can shift your entire perspective.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in your own head, trapped in old stories, or just unsure how to shift gears, this one’s for you.

How to Get Out of Your Own Way (Before You Talk Yourself Out of It) | Harps & Tiff - 89216 mars 202500:41:05

Alright, legends, this one’s a ripper. Harps and I go deep on the self-doubt that creeps in even when you’re nailing it, why we sabotage ourselves over the smallest things, and the mental gymnastics of stepping up to the next level. We also talk about those magic moments that remind us we’re actually not crap… even if it takes 700 people in an audience to convince us.

Plus, I introduce Harps to a website that might just replace doom-scrolling with polar bears and puppies (ya welcome).

Why We Struggle to Slow Down (And What to Do About It) | Jem Fuller - 89112 mars 202500:52:16

Jem Fuller is back, and as usual, he’s firing on all cylinders as we explore the magic of learning, unlearning, and rewiring how we do life.

We get stuck into that sneaky little habit so many of us have (well, I sure bloody do)  of rushing for no real reason. You know the one… that feeling of "I’ve got so much to do" even when, if you really stopped to think about it, you’re not actually in a hurry? Turns out, that wiring runs deep, and undoing it might just be the secret to a calmer, more intentional life.

This is one of those episodes that’ll have you questioning how you move through life, and maybe even changing the way you do things. Or, at the very least, you’ll walk away knowing that if you’re feeling a little stuck, you’re definitely not alone.

How We Learn Best | Harps & Tiff - 88905 mars 202500:46:22

Today Harps and I are talking all things learning and learning potential.. The 61-year-old PhD candidate and the spontaneous, overnight pianist (that's me, apparently).

It's fascinating how much we can learn and evolve when we give things a shot and find ourselves in the right environment with the right learning style that engages us. Best part is it keeps us young, sharp and always growing! I loved this chat.

Flying in the Face of Fear | Kim 'KC' Campbell - 88802 mars 202500:51:08

Ever wondered what it takes to fly straight into danger and make it out the other side? Well, strap in because today’s guest, Kim 'KC' Campbell, knows exactly what that feels like.

Kim is a retired US Air Force fighter pilot who spent 24 years defying expectations, leading missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and navigating some of the most intense situations imaginable. She’s flown over 100 combat missions in the A-10, including one that saw her aircraft severely damaged over Baghdad, forcing her to make a split-second decision that could have meant life or death.

We dive deep into that moment, the mental and physical resilience it took to stay in control, and how her training kicked in when everything seemed to be falling apart. Kim shares what it was like growing up with a dream that didn’t seem possible, pushing through barriers in a male-dominated field, and how those lessons in courage, discipline, and leadership have shaped her life ever since.

This is a conversation about grit, mindset, and what it really means to face fear head-on. Whether you’re flying high in your career, navigating personal challenges, or just looking for a jolt of inspiration, Kim’s story is one you won’t forget.

101 Not Out: A Century of Wisdom with My Pop | Frank Cook - 88623 févr. 202500:39:48

Ain't many blokes blowing out 101 candles these days, let alone ones as sharp as a tack and as witty as my Pop Cook! Safe to say, this episode is a pretty special one for me (and my family). What a gift to sit down, record his tales, and not only share them with the world but also etch them into history... something we’ll cherish for a lifetime.

As we talked, my mind conjured up scenes straight out of an old Netflix series. The kind of stories you read about or see in movies. Back when people traveled by horse and cart, and school was too far away for most kids to attend. Pop grew up on a farm and became a farmer himself. His father fought in WWI, taking shrapnel to the leg, and by the time WWII broke out, Frank (Pop) was just 15, already busy working the land and taking over the farm. He was 32 when television first reached Australia... 32 years without TV! Imagine that.

A hard worker, a husband, a father, a grandfather. The epitome of good character and integrity. One hell of a sportsman, and as he’ll tell you himself, at 101, he’s made thousands of friends and not a single enemy. So yeah, I’m pretty damn proud to call him my pop.

Hope you enjoy his tales as much as I did!

Alright, crew! (see what I did there) Buckle up because today we’re taking off (in a sense) with fighter pilot, leadership powerhouse, and high-performance expert Waldo Waldman.

This guy has racked up nearly 3,000 flying hours in the cockpit, dodged missiles over Iraq, and spent eight years battling his own mind while flying at 35,000 feet. Panic attacks, fear, and all the fun stuff. We’re talking resilience, courage, and what it really takes to push through when every fiber of your being is screaming at you to quit. From the skies to the boxing ring, we unpack why some people thrive under pressure while others crumble, and why the 'never fly solo' philosophy applies to every high-stakes arena, be it combat, business, or life. The Mind Game: How We Trick Ourselves Into (And Out Of) Success | Patrick Bonello - 88209 févr. 202501:07:53

Patrick Bonello is back and stepping into the conversational ring with me for a tussle on all things life, habits, hacks and games. From the psychology of fighting, to how muscle memory shapes our habits, we break down the unconscious ways our bodies and minds adapt. Patrick takes me down a rabbit hole of juggling, VR gaming, and Tai Chi, while I try to convince him that boxing isn’t just about getting hit in the head (well, mostly). We riff on brain training, human behavior, resilience, and why rock climbing is probably safer than netball. Plus, Patrick flexes his questionable but hilarious voice impression skills, and I leave this convo convinced I need to start juggling balls.

It’s a ride. It’s a laugh. And if nothing else, you’ll walk away with a fresh appreciation for the way your brain plays the game of life... whether you realise it or not.

Why Bad Bosses Are Ruining Everything (And How AI Might Fix It) | Bailey Parnell - 88002 févr. 202500:48:19

Righto team, today’s episode is one for the world of 2025. We’re talking digital well-being, leadership, and AI with the brilliant Bailey Parnell... because let’s be real, tech is changing the way we think, work, and even lead, and not always for the better. Bailey is an expert in how social media and AI impact our mental health, decision-making, and emotional intelligence, and she’s got an insight or two into how we can take back control. We’re unpacking why bad leadership is so damn common (and how AI might actually help), what social media is doing to our ability to think for ourselves, and whether we’re all just running a race we never signed up for in this hyper-connected world.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the constant noise or wondered if you’re the one steering the ship (or if the bloody algorithm’s got the wheel) this one’s for you.

Booey Oh Buoy! | Bobby Cappuccio - 87929 janv. 202501:01:10

Righto pals, buckle up! Today's episode with Bobby Cappuccio is a whirlwind of banter, life reflections, and the kind of deep dives that make your brain work in the midst of plenty of lols. If you’ve ever found yourself caught between the tension of routine and spontaneity, or wondered why we humans seem to outsmart ourselves when it comes to the simplest things (like listening to your body before it decides to revolt mid-deadlift), you’ll feel seen.

We unpack everything from why some environments just light us up to the psychology behind decisions we think we’re making but might actually be on autopilot for. Bobby shares some chaotic tale about Iceland’s Christmas Yule Cat (yep, a cat that eats kids who don’t wear new clothes - I honestly don't know where he gets all this crap from) and takes us on a reflective journey about how connection, environment, and values shape us in ways we often miss.

If you’re in for a mix of laughs, actionable insights, and a few moments that might leave you questioning whether you’re truly running your day - this bad boy is for you.

The Addictive Mind | Mick Hall - 87826 janv. 202501:17:19

A couple of weeks shy of his 24th year of sobriety (woohoo), Mick Hall is back for another awesome chat about all things boxing, booze, bad decisions, and bloody great ones too.

I quiz Mick on the definition of being a 'recovering addict' when he's a whopping 24 years clean and sober, curious of the mentality behind how we define ourselves through change and personal evolution. Mick shares how boxing taught him more than just how to throw a decent punch and how it became a mirror for life itself, from managing stress to staying grounded when the pressure’s on.

We also chat about the addictive mind... what it feels like, how it latches onto self-doubt and shame, and the tools Mick uses to stay clean and thriving. He’s brutally honest about the non-negotiables of recovery, the importance of connection, and why accountability is a game-changer.

This episode is packed with so many gold nuggets, whether you’re fighting addiction, dealing with your own challenges, or just looking for a little extra motivation to keep rolling with the punches.

        Enjoy!

        Tragedy + Time = Comedy | Alex Hooper - 87619 janv. 202501:03:29

This one’s a wild ride, fam. I’m catching up with comedian Alex Hooper, who’s back on Roll With The Punches for round two, three fleeting years after our first chat. Let me tell you, Alex has lived about 80 lifetimes since then, so buckle up.

From battling stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and almost dying from Sepsis, to navigating infertility struggles, a miscarriage, and losing his dad - all within a few chaotic months... Alex’s story is raw, real, and (somehow) hilariously honest. He shares how he kept his mindset afloat through the darkest times, his transformative experience with ayahuasca in Peru, and the lessons he’s learned about facing life’s toughest punches with love, humor, and a hefty dose of perspective.

We also get into his new podcast, Hopefully Kidding (a brilliantly named series on infertility and hope), his upcoming comedy special, and why he refuses to let life (or anyone else) dim his light.

If you’re craving a reminder of how to find strength, connection, and even laughter amidst life’s messiest moments, this is your episode. Tune in, laugh, cry, and get ready to feel deeply inspired.

The Power (and the Curse) of Choice | Jem Fuller - 87515 janv. 202501:00:20

This week, I'm back with one of my absolute favorites, Jem Fuller, and given my recent workshop I'm diving into why the f*&k we find ourselves stuck - and more importantly, how we can break free. Jem and I riff on everything from the power of choice (and it's sneaky curse) to the magic of nature and what happens when we take the time to truly feel.

Jem brings his signature perspective on choosing positivity, shedding guilt, and the beauty of creating habits that transform. We chat about being ready for change, trusting the process, and how service to others can give life a whole new meaning.

So, if you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or in need of a little kickstart, this episode might just be for you.

Trusting Yourself Again | Susie Keratiotis - 87308 janv. 202501:04:05

Susie Keratiotis joins me again for a second brilliant conversation. We first met when Susie shared the raw and inspiring story of leaving a toxic relationship and rebuilding her life. This time, we dive even deeper into her healing, how the experience of sharing her story with us the first time felt, and exploring how healing isn’t a destination but an ongoing process. We unpack the lessons she’s learned along the way, the transformative power of yoga and community, and the courage it takes to trust yourself again. If Susie’s first episode hit you in the heart, this follow-up coffee chat will do just that, too. Raw, real, and packed with (for some, all too relatable) wisdom.

Healing Shame, Trauma, and the Stories We Tell Ourselves | Dr. Jeffrey Rediger - 87101 janv. 202500:59:57

It’s always a privilege to have Dr. Jeffrey Rediger on the show, and this chat sure did not disappoint. Dr. Jeffrey’s a Harvard-trained physician, researcher, and the author of Cured, who has spent decades exploring the extraordinary link between trauma, spontaneous healing from so-called 'incurable' illnesses, and the mind-body connection.

We talk about the power of the nervous system, the role of trauma in shaping who we are, and how healing isn’t just about fixing what's broken - it's about rediscovering the parts of ourselves we’ve tucked away. From navigating complex emotions like shame to understanding the layers of consent and the subtle ways we reenact unhealed wounds, this conversation is raw, real, and transformational. He's one of my favourite guests!

Whether you're on a personal healing journey or fascinated by the intersection of science and spirituality, this episode will leave you inspired to dig deeper into your own story.

        "I'm Hooked on a Feeling" | Bobby Cappuccio - 87029 déc. 202401:10:20

The lad is back... And once Bobby gets his usual cat-related story-telling and analysis is promptly out of the way we knuckle down and talk the quirks of modern tech reliance, reminisce about old-school TV shows (hello, Ally McBeal), and share personal stories about the randomness of life and the joy of letting go. From navigating hierarchy in leadership to my unexpected motorbike karaoke sessions (because 'Hooked on a Feeling' randomly pops into my head every time I ride), this episode is an eclectic mix of deep thought, good questions (or the analysis of how to ask them), laughter, and relatable moments.

Love Beats War - Deb Richardson - 86925 déc. 202400:50:25

Brace yourself, because this one’s going to hit you right in the feels. Deb Richardson is back on the mic with me, and if you caught her story the first time she joined me, you’ll know exactly why I couldn’t wait to have her back. Deb’s journey is one of grit, heart, and a level of badassery that’s hard to put into words.

Deb was a guest on behalf of The Code 9 Foundation (episode 584) where Deb recounted her days as a member of Victoria Police and being caught up in the Russell Street bombing, however we also learnt about Yuri, the young 11-year-old Ukrainian boy who Deb hosted in 1993. Well, it is fair to say that a pretty special bond was created between Deb and Yuri before Yuri went home.

There is much more to this story, so please check out Deb’s first episode. Deb and Yuri lost contact until 2017 where they reconnected, and this contact accelerated after Yuri saw Russian tanks roll into the Ukraine. What transpired was Deb asking what she could do for Yuri and the idea that Deb could knit some teddy bears for the young children who have been displaced, well Deb managed to get 14,000 “Yuri bears” knitted, yes that is correct, 14,000 “Yuri bears”, obviously a quite remarkable achievement.

What is more remarkable is the earlier this year, Deb travelled to the Ukraine to deliver the “Yuri bears”.

        This is her story.

The Love Economy | Jem Fuller - 86822 déc. 202400:53:46

Fresh off the back of our trip to the Himalayas, where life-shifting moments unfolded on rugged peaks and sacred grounds, Jem Fuller is back on air with me, and we unpack what it means to truly let go. From ancient rituals to personal transformations, this ep recounts the moments of magic, connection, energy, and creating meaningful change that the Himalayas offered up.

Jem shares how he’s blending purpose and passion with projects like Meaning on the Mountain, his retreats, and the game-changing Love Economy - an initiative that literally lifts people out of poverty through meditation and love. Oh, and did I mention Jem's very own wedding proposal at the highest (literal and metaphorical) peak of our trip? Yep, it’s all here.

We also explore the role of ritual in unlocking deep emotional shifts, how to sustain those life-changing moments once you're back home, and why cultivating gratitude for our toughest battles can be the ultimate superpower.

This one will leave you with a head full of possibilities, and maybe a little urge to book a ticket to the mountains. Strap in, legends.

When Your Body Turns Against You | Brett Lavars - 86718 déc. 202400:57:45

Today's story is one that’s equal parts confronting and inspiring. Meet Bret - a bloke who’s been through something so rare and extreme that most of us can’t even begin to wrap our heads around it.

Bret was hit with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), a condition where your immune system turns on you, attacking your peripheral nerves. It’s as scary as it sounds. For someone as active and healthy as Bret, the sudden loss of control over his own body was beyond terrifying. Imagine going from your everyday life to being hospitalised multiple times while doctors try to solve the mystery of what’s happening inside you.

His symptoms hit hard. He lost the use of his arms and legs, and felt as if he was burning from the inside out, something I'd sure never raise my hand to endure. When the GBS diagnosis finally came, it was the start of a long, grueling road to recovery.

Bret had to literally retrain his brain to use his body again. Think about that for a moment... learning to hold a cup, to move your limbs, to function in ways we all take for granted. It’s a level of resilience and determination that’s hard to fathom.

And here’s where the story gets beautifully human. With the unwavering support of his wife Lisa and his loved ones. Today, Bret is back at work full-time, continuing his recovery journey, and proving just how much grit the human spirit can muster when faced with the unthinkable.

This one’s a powerful reminder of how tough we can be, even when life throws us the hardest punches.

        Deep Work & Radical Self-Discovery | Nicole Liddell - 86615 déc. 202401:00:51

Nicole Liddell is one of those people who embodies everything I bang on about here on Roll With The Punches. She’s lived it, processed it, and come out swinging on the other side with wisdom that’ll make you stop in your tracks... And thus, I could not have asked her any quicker to drop in behind the mic and have a chat with me.

Nicole’s years on this planet so far have been a full-blown rollercoaster. From raising three kids as a single mum, wrestling with her relationship with her body, diving into a psychology degree, and now smashing out a PhD on intimate partner violence, she’s done the hard yards. But it’s the inner work she’s done - the messy, confronting, beautiful stuff - that really made me lean in. We talk about shame, self-compassion, boundaries, forgiveness (or the lack of it), and how our stories shape our lives - positively if we let them.

Nicole doesn’t sugarcoat her journey, and she doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff. Her insights into self-awareness, trauma, and empowerment will have you nodding, crying, and maybe even journaling like a boss.

This is a conversation for anyone who’s ever felt a little lost, a little stuck, or like you’re standing in the middle of your own mess wondering how the hell to find your way out.

Nicole’s here to show you that on the other side of that mess is something incredible... YOU, in all your unapologetic glory.

Gender Inequality F*cks Us ALL Over | Thomas Hoffman - 86304 déc. 202401:12:47

Thomas Hoffman is not just a brilliant mate of mine, he's an absolute legend in the fields of inclusion, diversity, and culture reform. Thomas takes us on a deep dive into the ever-evolving conversation about gender identity, biological sex, and the societal systems that shape (and often constrain) our understanding of these topics.

We discuss the nuances of biological sex, gender identity, and expression, unraveling how each differs yet overlaps, and why our binary frameworks fail to capture the beautiful complexity of human experience.

Thomas shares fascinating insights from his work in gender equality and culture reform, addressing why inclusion is vital - not just for individuals but for societal growth. We touch on contentious topics, from gender in sport to workplace culture, exploring how systems and biases create barriers, and how they might be dismantled.

This episode isn’t about answers - it’s about questions. Questions that challenge stereotypes, open minds, and, most importantly, invite understanding and respect.

Rewriting The Rules | Carla Raynes - 86201 déc. 202401:05:12

What happens when you take an unstoppable advocate for youth homelessness, mix in some fiery passion for social change, and sprinkle it with raw authenticity? You get Carla Raynes, founder and CEO of Bridge It, and one of the most inspiring humans I’ve had the privilege of meeting.

Carla shares the power of stepping outside of societal labels and redefining what it means to be a leader, a woman, and a change-maker. Carla shares the journey of building Bridge It - an organisation tackling youth homelessness in a way that feels more like home and less like a broken system. From empowering traumatised young women to reclaim their lives to calling out systemic flaws with unfiltered honesty.

We talk about letting go of the 'busy badge', stepping into productivity, and learning to scream (literally) into the void to release what no longer serves us. Carla opens up about her own wake-up call, a health scare that led her to reevaluate her life and reclaim time for herself - something we can all learn from.

Plus, we explore the difference between being 'nice' and being 'kind', why women are conditioned to play small, and how challenging those outdated narratives can unlock a whole new level of impact. Carla’s mission? Supporting amazing women to do amazing things. And after this chat, YOU might just feel like one of them.

Is Enough Too Much? | Mark LeBusque - 86128 nov. 202401:03:27

In this ep, I’m joined by the one and only Mark LeBusque, a leader in leadership (pun intended), and the guy who gets to the heart of what makes us tick as humans. We dive into some big stuff (as we always do) like the stories we tell ourselves, the circumstances we think define us, and what happens when those two worlds collide.

Fresh from my recent transformational experience in India (yep, still unpacking that mountain-top magic), I couldn’t wait to pick Mark’s brain about the tricky dance between our internal narratives and external realities. Spoiler alert: there’s no one-size-fits-all band-aid for the wounds we carry. But we do have the power to write (and rewrite) our own stories.

It's typical to go into deep unchartered waters when LeBusque is on the show, but it's more typical that Mark is peeling back the layers of Tiff to see what's lurking beneath the surface. This week, we're switching seats and I'm taking the wheel on this.

We get into why saying 'sorry' might be a sneaky survival tactic (and how to stop over-apologising)... The cognitive immune system: what it is, why it sabotages us, and how to keep it in check... Adaptive vs. forced change, and why forcing it never works... Mark’s honest reflections on burnout, balance, and the sneaky ways life knocks on your door with lessons you don’t want to learn... How gratitude, even for the hard stuff like shame, can set us free.

This is a no-filter chat about what it really means to roll with life’s punches (pun absolutely intended), and why the work we do on ourselves never really stops. Whether you’re navigating your own mountain, or just figuring out how to survive Monday, you’re going to want to tune in.

Balancing Act: Life & Struggles of a Teenage Girl | Moorea Friedman - 85920 nov. 202400:49:36

Check out Moorea Friedman... a 16-year-old who is just wise beyond her years. If you’ve ever thought, 'what was I doing at 16?' brace yourselves, because if you're anything like me, you're answer might not sound anything like Mooreas.

We dive right into what it’s like growing up today, with the unique pressures of social media and all the intense comparison that comes with it. She opens up about dealing with an eating disorder, anxiety, and depression, all while juggling high school and a podcast of her own. Her show, Balancing Act: Life and Struggles of a Teenage Girl, is about creating a real, unfiltered space for teens dealing with mental health, and she’s bringing such a mature perspective to the table. I love how she talks about perfectionism and the need to be 'enough' in a world that’s constantly telling you otherwise. It’s inspiring, raw, and refreshingly honest.

Mariah shares stories about her own journey and how she’s learning to navigate all the pressures around her. There’s something so relatable in her words - it reminds me of my own journey through boxing, chasing perfection, and learning to be okay with imperfection. We talk about those tricky moments of self-reflection, identity, and how to redefine resilience when life throws you a punch (or a few). This conversation isn’t just for the younger crowd; it’s a powerful reminder to us all that being vulnerable and embracing our struggles is where real strength comes from.

So if you’re ready for a dose of teenage wisdom that might just make you rethink a few things, this episode is for you.

The Art of Surrender & Living on Purpose | Bobby Cappuccio - 85817 nov. 202400:34:49

Alright, legends Bobby Cappuccio is back and we are talking about connection, purpose, the trap of 'being busy,' and the moments we let slip through our fingers because we think we'll get to them later. Spoiler alert: sometimes, later doesn’t come.

Bobby opens up about some of his own regrets and missed connections, sharing how those experiences have shaped him. And here’s what really strikes me - it ain't about some massive life overhaul but about small, intentional moments. He talked about how trauma has shaped his need for control, and I could relate so much to that. I’d just come back from my own little 'reset'... walking slower, saying yes to things I’d usually brush off, feeling more present and creative than I have in a long time.

Together, we tackle the real challenge of surrender and letting go of the need to always have a handle on everything, allowing yourself to just be in the experience. For Bobby and me, it’s about realising that stepping back and shifting your perspective isn’t just nice to have; it’s absolutely necessary for growth and resilience.

Of course, we had a good chuckle about some of the less heavy stuff too. But all jokes aside, this conversation reminded me how important it is to live in the now, to let go of 'someday,' and to focus on the things that actually make us feel alive.

So, if you’re ready to rethink how you spend your days, embrace a little more connection, and maybe just slow down enough to enjoy the journey, this episode is for you.

Patrick Got His Wang Out | Patrick Bonello - 85713 nov. 202400:52:09

Righto, legends, buckle up because today, I'm rolling into a conversation with our good friend Patrick Bonello. If you’ve tuned in before, you know Patrick’s not just any guest - he’s one of those mates who brings a whole mix of laughter, deep thought, and the kind of tangents that make you wonder how you ended up laughing so hard in the first place.

This ep? It’s all about the unexpected magic you find when you let go of the need to control everything. Patrick and I dive into our recent 'travels' - mine to India and his, well, into the world of life drawing as a model! Also, if you’ve ever thought staring into someone’s eyes for five minutes was intense, try doing it in a place where neither of you speaks the same language. Or, better yet, imagine letting a bunch of strangers draw every detail of you in a life drawing class. We chat about the thrill of finding connection in strange places, how stripping back the layers (sometimes literally) can teach you more about yourself, and why we both believe in embracing those out-of-the-blue interactions that shape who we are.

Get ready for a chat that’ll leave you both chuckling and contemplating some big questions. Like, who’s in your circle, and are they bringing out the best in you? This episode is a shoutout to anyone who’s ready to say yes to life’s curveballs, connect with people on a deeper level, and maybe even let go of a bit of that control we all cling to.

Perspective. When The Bad Makes Life Better | Terry Tucker - 85610 nov. 202400:44:19

Today’s episode is a doozy. I’ve got Terry Tucker on the mic, and if you think you’re about to hear just another life story, think again. Terry has indeed been through the ringer...  from years on the police force to facing a rare and relentless form of cancer that just wouldn’t quit. But true to form, nor would Terry. He’s still here, still living his best life, and he’s got one hell of a perspective on what it means to live fully, face fear, and redefine resilience.

From the highs, the lows, and those gut-check moments where he had to choose between giving up and pressing forward, Terry opens up about how cancer has actually made him a better human, why he’s glad he never let go of his dreams, and how he’s found a way to put more good into the world than he ever thought possible. He talks about legacy, about emptying yourself into the world, about leaving things a little better than you found them. This is deep stuff that you and I love, and I promise, it’ll get you thinking.

When Almost Dying Stops Us From 'Almost' Living | Michael O'Brien - 84606 nov. 202401:00:13

After a good hearty chat with Michael O'Brien about finding life-long love the old school way with a personals ad in the newspaper (we never quite know where a conversation might start or finish on this show hey) we get into talking about life.

The only thing scarier than almost dying can surely be the thought of only almost living, right? When I speak to people like Michael who have been landed with a pretty heavy hit from life and almost had theirs taken in the process, it leaves me wondering how many of us are only ‘almost living’ our whole lives. Living with worry, anxiety and fear around things that perhaps don’t really matter. Michael and I unpack how a near-fatal cycling accident shifted his entire perspective on life, work, and chasing that ever-elusive 'happiness.' He takes us through his journey from corporate hustle and grind to a life grounded in mindfulness, gratitude, and living fully in each moment. We also dig into his post-accident recovery, both physically and mentally, and how he found peace and purpose through small, daily practices like his life-changing ‘Pause, Breathe, Reflect’ method. From redefining success to embracing life's imperfections, Michael’s story is a powerful reminder that sometimes you’ve got to get knocked down to rise stronger than ever.

Whether you’re a workaholic, a cyclist, or just someone who needs to slow the hell down, this conversation is for you (and certainly me).

        Reinventing Yourself | Mark Talukdar - 85506 nov. 202400:45:23

Mark Talukdar is a weapon of a peak performance coach who left everything behind at 18 to chase his dreams, landing in the US with little more than grit and determination. Mark’s story is raw, packed with moments of doubt, anger, and ultimately, transformation as he navigated homelessness, self-discovery, and a quest for success.

We dig into his journey from survival mode to thriving as an entrepreneur and amateur bodybuilder. Mark shares his insights on identity, self-love, and the power of a name - yes, he literally threw a ‘naming ceremony’ to become the Mark we know today. His energy is infectious, and his message is clear: resilience isn’t about enduring pain; it’s about embracing the challenge and pushing the limits on what we believe is possible.

Back again (freshly returned from my Himalaya trip) with a philosophical banter about all things life with Craig Harper and as always, I loved it. After my perspective shifting experience on the mountains recently, we got stuck into the big stuff yet again, like finding meaning and purpose in this momentary ride we're on.  Questioning if we really have to choose just one path, and why unlearning is just as important as learning.

        Strong. Empowered. Living Free - Building A Life After Lock-Up | Tahlia Isaac - 85330 oct. 202400:47:05

In this episode, I’m chatting with the ah-mazing Tahlia Isaac, and trust me, her story is nothing short of an inspiration. From battling addiction and serving time in prison to becoming a fierce advocate for women re-entering society, Tahlia’s journey is raw, real, and powerful. She’s not just talking about change - she’s living it through her work with her charity, Strong. Empowered. Living Free (SELF).

We get down to business around the nitty-gritty of her past, what pulled Tahlia down that path, and (more importantly) how she clawed her way back out. Tahlia shares how she’s using this lived experience to create real impact for other women going through the same struggles. We talk identity, forgiveness, and what it really takes to rebuild your life after hitting rock bottom.

        Enjoy!

Real Talk, Emotions, Honesty & Relationships | Sam King & Jess Curtis - 85227 oct. 202400:55:11

In this episode, I chat with these two chatty souls Samantha King and Jess Curtis from the I Hear You podcast about navigating emotions, relationships, and self-awareness in both personal and professional life. We kick off by exploring how we process conversations differently - whether we're in them or reflecting afterward - and the insights that come from each.

From importance of speaking our feelings out loud, balancing being present with later reflection, and how honesty with ourselves and others is key. I share lessons I've taken from my own relationships and experience of how open conversations, especially around resentment, have been transformative. Samantha and Jess also talk about purpose, self-compassion, and the challenge of living up to societal expectations.

It’s a cracker of a conversation about relationships, self-awareness, and finding balance in the chaos that is life.
