| Roll Models D&D: Episode 127 – The Guardian of Crulhoste | 11 oct. 2024 | 01:33:40 | |
RECAP TIME: Xethir wanted to resurrect his dead god, the Unbeing, to do so he needed fragments of the Unbeing’s heartstones. But our heroes were a step ahead. They realised Xethir had put to market the job of finding the heartstone fragment and they would take the job and seize the fragment. After arriving in Sehira and finding the Analyst at the Artificer Guild reclamation yard. The dying shardwork machine told her that the Chains of Faith gripped the empire, weakening the gods, and an agent of the Chains hunted clerics like her. That agent was the Clockwork Man. After a brutal fight with an Unnanointed scholar who had come to destroy the Analyst themselves, Freya transferred the Analyst’s soul into her God’s Lantern, and they fled to their briefing: the heartstone fragment job was about to begin. However, the construct briefing them for the job was in fact the Clockwork man, and it revealed they were to be chaperoned on this mission by Leonitis Balren, Ora’s soon-to-be father-in-law. Leonitis teleported then to the location the shard was hidden, Crulhoste, an ancient Bysilman facility in the Verdant range. To enter it, our heroes would have to travel deep in a deathly miasma called the voidblight. ____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! Freya banished the new creature to its home plane; the world between worlds called the burrowings, and finally the last creature fell. _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! Xethir would likely return soon, and with the Surgepyres under his control, he planed to resurrect his otherworldly god with the power of an interdimensional surge that happens every thousand-or-so years… and the clock had run down. They had discovered two contracts for work, the first from the Empire’s Apotheos district, which our heroes identified as the very same mission for the Piece of Terror. Leaving them with a decision: to either take the job and find out who in the Apotheos is working for Xethir, or to find the shard in competition with whoever takes the job. In the last couple of days before they flee the city, our heroes spent much needed time with those they loved… and those they hoped to love. As well as cook their socks off creating a fine dining menu of deserts for the Chasm Chronicle’s harshest critic… But, there was a spy within the cliffs and sneaking along the rooftops. With the surgepyre towers, he plans to resurrect his otherworldly god, harnessing the power of an interdimensional surge of Evraen due every thousand-or-so years… and the clock has run down. Our heroe’s know the location of one Piece of Terror – a shard of the dead god’s heartstone – and so Delnori may not host them for long. But there are other factors at play. RECAP TIME: After tracking down the two drowned tombs beneath the broken sea, our heroes begin the long sail back to Delnori. But not without a repercussion… or revelation. When their nemesis, Xethir finally showed himself to be impersonating Detrius within the seal sanctum, he killed the captain before our heroes could defeat him. Discovering the real Detrius hidden and unconscious on the ship, Sentinel and Freya nursed him back to health. He then revealed he had gained knowledge from his horrific connection with Xethir, that once Xethir controlled enough of the Surgepyres, he would harness the coming magical surge to forge a vessel for his god, Terranin, the Unbeing, using fragments of his shattered heartstone: the pieces of terror. Meanwhile, Moxie was aware someone was scrying on them, and soon found out their identity Meredith Vollant, Associate Guild Master of the Whispered Word, and she wanted aboard. Ora was also dealing with repercussions from the seal sanctum: the Mark of a cloak moth had appeared on his wrist. And although Freya had removed it, Ora was visited by an apparition of Morduram, Death, and offered a terrible choice: to seize the power of the Moth Coin in exchange for cutting himself off from his deity, Enthor. RECAP TIME: On an adventure with the pirates of the Oddmium Trist, out in the Broken Sea, our heroes searched for the two hidden chambers that were remnants of the drowned city of Zarlumai. Their quarry, the Seal Sanctum, where behind a great door laid divine treasures. Finally finding the Seal Sanctum, first Mate Detrius reveal himself as Xethir, nemesis and herald of the Malignant Domain, hidden by a powerful spell like true polymorph. Although our heroes succeeded in preventing him from him from claiming what lay beyond the great seal, but it wasn’t without injury or loss; the captain of the Oddmium Trist was dead. Beyond the seal, they found a burrowing, a tunnel world between two planes, and deep within was a great tower of glass, a legendary surgepyre built to harness a once in a millennia surge through the magical tides that flowed between worlds. Next to the tower was a hideout carved into the rock where they found a teleportation circle all for themselves. Back on the ship, they broke the news to the crew about the Captain and Detrius, but it wasn’t long before they found the real Detrius, hidden below deck and near death. After Freya and Sentinel nursed Detrius back to health, he revealed he had gained knowledge from his horrific connection with Xethir, that his plan extended beyond seizing the surgepyres. Once Xethir controlled enough of the towers, he would harness the coming surge to forge a vessel for his god, Terranin, the Unbeing, using pieces of his shattered heartstone: the pieces of terror. Meanwhile, Freya and Ora attempted to remove a curse that had appeared on Ora’s arm, a cloak moth, an omen of Morduram, Death.

We've partnered with Dice Legion to bring you 10% off all purchases with the code RollModels10 - happy shopping! RECAP TIME: Our heroes reunited the fragmented parts of the ancient map and delved into the first of the tombs, Yelanriae, along with the pirate crew of the Oddmium Trist. The voyage was led by Captain Ryse Killid, deathlock of Onru the Labyrinthine, and his only goal was to find a home for his pilgrim god in a secret borrowing that lay beyond a great seal. He was seconded by his First mate, Detrius. As they approached the final tomb, the map offered a warning “your final sacrifice is in bearing the terrible weight of the truth.” The tomb was hidden beneath an island that had been hollowed out, a puzzle embedded within it to hide a teleportation stone. That stone led to a demi-plane of ash and mazes, and atop a hill was a mansion. Leralith met our heroes, a reanimated memory of the sorcerer that created this place and the prison below it, the King’s Hold. Over 40,000 years ago, the Kings Hold was made to entrap Enthor, Ora’s deity, should he be corrupted by the Malignant Domain as he feared. And it had since been repurposed by the Ones Above as a location to hide one of the One Thousand Seals, and to cover up mistakes of the Entanglement’s past. Our heroes delved through the Kings hold, facing reanimated horrors, puzzles and twin obelisks that consumed spells. But through they went, and in the Seal Sanctum, Detrius opened the great sealed door, and revealed himself, hidden by a spell like true polymorph: Xethir. | Roll Models D&D: Episode 97 – Rise of the Malignant Domain | 10 nov. 2023 | 01:24:21
RECAP TIME: After reuniting the ancient map of Zarlumai, our heroes embarked on a perilous sea journey, guided by Captain Ryse Killid, the odd but the enigmatic Deathlock of Onru who was intent on locating a sealed “burrowing” dimension in the Entanglement for his dark god's sanctuary. Their first stop was Yelanriae, hidden beneath the seabed, its once-preserved chamber now distorted by undeath. After defeating a Loyalist, formerly a Paladin to Enthor, they claimed the Blood Key and a rot pearl for Moxie's spellwork. The final map marker pointed to a mysterious island, forewarning of a heavy sacrifice. The island revealed itself as a hollowed enigma, concealing a polished obsidian portal stone. Upon touching it, the party were transported into a surreal realm: ash, short mazes, skeletal trees and a sprawling mansion, all covered in lithifying ashen snow. They were met by Leralith, the preserved mind of the sorcerer who created this place… the King’s Hold. As they delved into the dark of the King’s hold, they soon found out why. Making it through the entrance, they continued into the misty depths… Making their way to the deepest part of the hold, the Seal Sanctum, Detrius used the blood hkey to unlock the great seal covered a huge doorway. As the seal shattered around them, Detrius revealed himself as Xethir, under the influence of the true polymorph spell and powerful cloaking magics. Xethir made for the opening burrowing beyond the great door, and our heroes attacked. The Captain calling that they must not let him enter the sealed burrowing beyond or it will be forever lost... _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! | Roll Models D&D: Episode 95 – Into The King’s Hold | 27 oct. 2023 | 01:29:16
RECAP TIME: Our heroes had explored one ancient chamber on the map of drowned Zarmulai and now they delved into the second. Their captain, Ryse Killid, A resurrected warlock of the strange deity Onru the labyrinthine, had used his blood to forge the blood key in the first of these chambers, and they believed it would be crucial to finding what lay on the door in the second chamber: the Seal Sanctum. After sailing through a violent storm that claimed one life from the crew, our heroes arrived at the Capstone of the next chamber; a small island, but the way was guarded by a pirate’s puzzle set by whoever hid the route into the chamber itself. After finding the teleportation stone deep in the island, our heroes found themselves in a garden of ash and mazes, and a top a hill was an ash-clotted mansion. They were greeted by a figure that stole the appearance of Amaya’s father, and revealed he was called Leralith, the preserved memories of the sorcerer who created this place. And this place, at least below the mansion, was the Kings Hold, a prison fro Ora’s god Enthor should he be corrupted by the Malignant Domain. They descended to the entrance of the Kings Hold, and Leralith said goodbye, locking them into the courtyard with ten angelic statues, countless desiccated bodies, and an inscription in Celestial: Consume. Consume their chaos, their stars, and souls. Consume their hearts and with it create, endure, and unravel all things. Fallen warriors began reanimating, their hearts forming in hollows and beating black and ultraviolet. Our heroes soon realised the way down into this chamber was far more treacherous than the last… _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! RECAP TIME: Our heroes had found and explored the first of two ancient chambers with the pirate crew of the Oddmium Trist. Yelanriae, the first tomb was an undead place, submerged under the depths and bedrock of the Broken Sea, where with Killid’s blood they successfully forged the bloody key and escaped to head for the second chamber… the Seal Sanctum. After a long journey, a storm swept over them, one worse than any Captain Killid had ever seen. The Oddmium Trist was ravaged, struck by giant waves and lightning, but our heroes kept the galleon and its crew in one piece. All except Sorel, one of the twins, who was lost in the maelstrom. But after a day of rest – and an excursion into Sentinel’s Patron-domain, the Subtle House – our heroes offloaded themselves from the ship into a small boat and made their way onto the island that capped where they believed the Seal Sanctum to be hidden. On the coves of the island where shipwrecks where Ora found evidence of another pirate crew who were not so lucky, and several hundred years before then. On the island itself there was little, but they soon discovered a hidden cove and a huge stone door the other side of a deep well. after figuring out the puzzle carved into the rock of the island that seemed to be an attempt to hide the entrance into the Seal Sanctum, our heroes found a large, polished black stone behind the stone door. Of course, Ahmaya touched it, and found herself in a world of mist and ash, surrounded by knee-high mazes, a gravel path leading up to and ash-softened manor house of spires and verandas. RECAP TIME: Following the instruction and direction of the ancient map, our heroes found and explored the first of two ancient Chambers with the pirate crew of the Oddmium Trist. The first, Yelanriae, was an undead tomb, submerged under the bedrock of the Broken Sea. What the next one, the Seal Sanctum, held is a mystery. After a long journey a storm swept over them, one worse than any Captain Killid had ever seen. The ship was ravaged, struck by giant waves and lightning, but our heroes kept the galleon and its crew in one piece. All except Sorel, one of the twins, who was lost in the maelstrom. As they limped to the island that mark the location of the Seal Sanctum, the captain called for a day of rest and repair. Meanwhile, Sentinel had been grounded by their patron, the Enigmora for one day, so they took the opportunity to bring our heroes in with her to their patron’s domain: the Subtle house. They dove into the Toiaska wing that was shrouded in the corrosive mist of the forgotten that ate away much of the Enigmora’s domain. They defeated the core of the mist and liberated the Toiaska wing, discovering the forgotten’s – and the Enigmora’s – link to their nemesis Xethir. That night they gathered in the library of the Subtle House where they ate, drank, fought in the way families do, and Florin shared with them a story of a scribe. _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! But on their journey to the island that would hopefully lead to the second location, the Seal Sanctum, the crew faced a terrible storm, loosing Sorrel to the waves. As they arrived at the island, the captain called a day of rest, recuperation and remembrance. It was on that day that Sentinel was called by their patron, the Enigmora. They were in the depths of admonishing themselves after attuning and quickly severing themselves from the cursed Arbitel of the Burrowed Worlds. But their patron was not happy with their distancing themselves… and as an awkward punishment, grounded Sentinel in their domain, the Subtle House, for one day. Our heroes took this as an opportunity to explore an area of the Subtle House called the Toiaska wing that was shrouded in the corrosive mist of the forgotten that ate away much of the Enigmora’s domain. After discovering the origin of the forgotten was somehow tied to their nemesis Xethir, our heroes defeated the core of the mist and liberated the Toiaska wing. RECAP TIME: After exploring the ancient depths of Yelanriae, our heroes took a much-needed rest. Although it was a fretful one as they still swam under the ocean bedrock, and still relied on enchantments to breathe under the water. The fight with the Loyalist ended abruptly, the skeletal paladin fell into a heap of ocean warn armour, and his animated gargoyles crumbled. Moxie, with the help of Eugene, successfully extracted her prize at the core of the undead: a rot pearl. But the Loyalist responded, grabbing her by the neck and echoing his death throes: that for the first time in ten-thousand spirals, the web of pyres shall be awake to the harmonisation… because the Disciple claims them one by one. He shall harness the surge, and with his forging, toll the death knell of all things. Together, with captain Killid’s blood, they forged the blood key and made their way up through the bedrock and the ocean depths to the Oddmium Trist where they were met by the crew, and debriefed. The captain kept to his word and revealed the truth about his patron: Onru, The Pilgrim, in his words, although our players have heard him by other names: the Labyrinthine and the Caustic to name two. The captain insisted he could be trusted; that his only goal was to find a home in a secret burrowing for his God, that he himself was resurrected for this purpose, and he believed behind the ancient door in the seal sanctum was one such burrowing. RECAP TIME: They voyaged across the broken sea to Yelanriae, the first of two drowned places that bordered the now sunken city of Zalumai. They snapped their enchanted sticks of water breathing and dove down to the bedrock, then dug into a tunnel deeper still until they found a sealed nodule of a landscape. Before them stretched a preserved mountainside, a top it was the entrance to Yelanriae, but the doorway was guarded by the Concierge. The Concierge was a conglomeration of veils, preserved and twisted souls; victims of the city’s drowning 10,000 years ago and prisoners to its preservation magic that could not let anything die. They fought past the concierge, through the twitching bodies within the chamber, and found a spherical room that held a mould for a large key and a mural that told a story. It depicted a stone man forging a key with his blood. Another depicted a sealed doorway with strange things beyond it. Entering the final room, they were met with a seven foot armoured figure wielding a halberd. He spoke in celestial, his voice that of grinding bone and jellied flesh. “You come to forge the blood key. In the name of Enthorandoran, Crestcoil of Descordia Prime, I will stop you.” The battle raged in the Loyalists sanctum, the undead paladin reanimating the eroded gargoyles that lined the room. They slammed into our heroes and began pushing back the sarcophagus to holt the forging. RECAP TIME: After leaving the chasm city of Delnori with the whispered renown of the guilds and thieves, our heroes joined the pirate crew of the Oddmium Trist for a singular expedition: to find the two points on the ancient map and recover their treasures. They voyaged across the broken sea to Yelanriae, the first of two drowned places that bordered the now sunken city of Zalumai. Entering the final room, they were met with a seven-foot armoured figure wielding a halberd. He spoke in celestial, his voice that of grinding bone and jellied flesh. “You come to forge the blood key. In the name of Enthorandoran, Crestcoil of Descordia Prime, I will stop you.” _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! | Roll Models D&D: Episode 83 – Into the Loyalist's Domain | 14 juil. 2023 | 01:37:14
RECAP TIME: It was the first leg of their expedition with the pirate crew of the Oddmium Trist… Our heroes were already aware Captain Ryse Killid was a warlock, but it seemed he had more sordid secrets he was hiding. The first was in a small undead item that he hid in a safe in the wall of his cabin. The second was that he himself was undead. But before they could fully confront him, they arrived at their first destination, snapped their sigil sticks of underwater breathing, and dove into the depths of the Broken Sea. After breaking through to an ancient tunnel in the bedrock, they rode the current into a gargantuan tomb: a mountainside of Zarlumai preserved under two pitched slabs of tectonic rock that formed a roof. At the top of the mountainside was the entrance to Yelanriae. But it was protected. Many of the ancient souls of Zarlumai, the ancient city that fell into the sea, had become ensnared by the powerful preservation magics that preserved the chamber. The souls, like all things within Yelanriae, had been twisted into deep, wallowing creatures of undead. At the entrance to the chamber those souls conglomerated into The Concierge, a creature of transparent veils. It asked them questions, and it did not like their answers. It split into four, possessed Freya and then Moxie, puppeteering their bodies and attempting to cast spells. The fight was grim, the Concierge was steadfast against persuasion, and healed rapidly. But soon our heroes overwhelmed it… _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! We've partnered with Dice Legion to bring you 10% off all purchases with the code RollModels10 - happy shopping! RECAP TIME: Our heroes began their expedition with the Oddmium Trist in high spirits: they had scuppered Dolan Crissaphaene’s plans, ousted the false leader of the Lamoré Family business, and reunited the lost parts of he ancient map which they now followed toward the first chamber. The chamber they sought was Yelanriae, where they must “bleed for their cause”, and the second was the seal sanctum. But all was not well aboard the Oddmium Trist, the captain, although liked by many, was hiding something that bore the aura of undead. On closer inspection, the captain himself emanated that very same undead nature. But they quickly arrived at their destination: Ordains rock, a marker for where the lost city fell, and close to the ocean resting place of Yelanriae. They snapped breathing stick, inhaled the fizzing magic and dove into the depths. Soon our heroes found themselves digging in the bedrock until they found a tunnel with a current, and rode it down… and down to an enormous silt-filled chamber. During the fall of the city into the ocean, two vast slabs of rock landed together, forming a pitched roof that protected the ancient mountainside within, at the top of which was an opening to a grand tomb. But they were not alone. A creature of diaphanous veils conglomerated together, it called itself the Concierge and was the remnant, undying souls of the cities inhabitants that had been trapped by the pull of the preservation magics ingrained into Yelanriae. Our heroes had to speak their reasons for being there, and only if the Concierge was pleased with their words would they enter. It paused on Moxie – her quest for a rot pearl – but moved on. Then when the Captain answered, the Concierge shrieked at his lies and branded him a creature of the Court of Desolance, then attacked, splitting into veils. One such veil disappeared into Freya, possessing her… _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! | Roll Models D&D: Episode 81 – The Lies of the Oddmium Trist | 30 juin 2023 | 01:46:43
RECAP TIME: Setting sail from the chasm city, our heroes rode the waves with the pirate crew of the Oddmium Trist, a galleon of salt crusted darkwood, led by the giant skull of a sabertooth at the bowsprit. Although they were accepted members of the crew, heroes had concerns of their own. Sentinel struggled with messaging their father, the deposed crime boss, Royce De Lanta. Freya spoke face-to-face with her mysterious, pariah God who offered both grave omens and an apology for stealing her from the god she sought in her childhood. Moxie’s conflict with Eugene remained a wound unhealed, but she focused on the task ahead: seeking out a rotpearl to craft a new magic. Eugene himself struggled with ship life, (and the food), and sought more suitable, intellectual work assisting the captain. Ahmaya thrived assisting the crew cook, but her culinary expertise was seemingly not appreciated by everyone. And Ora I was visited by his own deity, Enthor, who revealed close secrets about the lost city the Oddmium Trist cut through the waves towards. The chamber they sought, Yelanriae, was ancient, drowned with the rest of the city when it fell into the sea 10,000 years ago. But the preservation of magics that permeated out from the chamber would have sustained things without prejudice. That magic will have twisted over the Millennia. Things that should not live on would not have been allowed to die. Enthor warned Ora, Yelanriae which was once a chamber to celebrate Enthor himself, crafted by his people, was now a tomb of undead. The world has changed, he has changed, and it is time to unearth the secrets within. _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! We've partnered with Dice Legion to bring you 10% off all purchases with the code RollModels10 - happy shopping! RECAP TIME: Our heroes arrived in Delnori on the run from the ritual crisis at the Debiles ball in Dustmere, and they left Delnori with friends, acquaintances in high places, and the beginnings of a business. But their next adventure was in the waves. They sailed with the crew of the Oddmium Trist, a group of philanthropic pirates, and they searched for the first of two destinations on the ancient map they recovered for the captain. Yelanriae; a chamber on the mountainside of Zarlumai, an island city that fell into the sea ten thousand years ago during the great unbinding. The crew were in good spirits, and after a brief detour into the pocket dimension of the Curator’s waiting rooms, our heroes joined them. The winds were high, but the waters ahead were dangerous, and some of the crew had clouded secrets of their own. _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast! | Roll Models D&D: Episode 79 – Rum and Rumours | 16 juin 2023 | 01:08:56
RECAP TIME: After a calamitous few week in Delnori, our heroes took to the sea with the pirate crew of the Oddmium Trist. They sailed in search of two chambers in the mountain reaches of the drowned city of Zarlumai. The first was a place called Yelanriae, the second the Seal sanctum. When they discovered the second half of the ancient map in the Dias Ward of Delnori and then united the two halves of the map with captain Killid, they discovered they must first visit the chamber, Yelanriae, to “form the key given freely.” But, on their first night on the Oddmium Trist, they were visited by the Curator – his inter-dimensional front door at least – and they were invited into his waiting rooms where they would have to earn his audience. After several confusing and often deadly puzzles, our heroes were welcomed by the curator, an old classy, albeit eccentric, noble elf and his assistant Velvet Belice. He asked them many questions, about themselves, about their and then offered them each a special coin… _____ Welcome to Roll Models, an actual play DnD Video Podcast!
