Staci’s guest is Susan Cowsill, the legendary vocalist known for being a child singing star in The Cowsills, her family’s chart-topping group that actually inspired the 1970s TV sitcom The Partridge Family. Susan discusses the brand new book about her other long-running supergroup, The Continental Drifters on this episode, plus she remembers being on the music scene in L.A. in the 1970s (in fact, her “rock and roll nightmare” involves none other than The Runaways’ svengali, Kim Fowley!), moving to New Orleans and learning to love jazz, bidding farewell to Kris Kristofferson, and much more.

Staci’s guest is Spencer Charnas, the frontman of the “theatricore” metal band, Ice Nine Kills. The band name comes from the fictional substance Ice-nine from the 1963 novel Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. But their sound and inspiration come from horror movies, and their latest collaboration is with the twisted minds behind the Terrifier franchise. Spencer and Art the Clown star in Ice Nine Kills' latest music video, "A Work of Art." Spencer also talks about some of his favorite horror movies, and touring with Metallica.

In this episode, Staci welcomes Linda Chadwick, the author of "On The Road: A Texas Groupie's Memoir." Linda's book offers an unfiltered look into the glam and heavy metal scenes in Texas, sharing her experiences with legends like Metallica, Pantera, and Motörhead. Filmmaker D.G. Brock joins Staci to talk about getting her start working for B-movie impresario Roger Corman—her first movie was Slumber Party Massacre 2, featuring a rockabilly driller killer with a gruesome guitar. Deb also worked with the notorious Vincent Gallo on two films (yes… even “that” film…). She talks about women in the industry, attending a drug-fueled Grateful Dead concert, and has a big announcement regarding Rock & Roll Nightmares! Lastly, Staci reads from the new, #1 bestselling Rock & Roll Nightmares: True Stories, recalling the grunge era and so-called “heroin chic.”

Staci interviews Oriel Collins, DIY fashion expert and a punk rock historian. Oriel reminisces of her time on the D.C. punk scene in the ’90s, being in the mosh pit at a TSOL show, and talks about the questionable deaths of Nancy Spungen, Sid Vicious, and Fred “Freak” Smith. She also goes into the reasons behind the fashion that started with punk, then evolved into the mainstream. Lastly, Staci reads from Rock & Roll Nightmares: True Stories, telling the strange tale of how a near-death experience led to Bon Scott becoming the lead singer of AC/DC.

Staci and cohost Curt Lambert interview Cody Greenwood, the producer and co-writer of the fantastic music documentary, Under the Volcano. It’s about Sir George Martin’s legendary Monserrat recording studio where many famous albums were produced, including The Police’s Synchronicity, Duran Duran’s Rio, and Dire Straits’ Brothers in Arms. Cody talks about the almost-all woman film crew and reveals her own personal rock & roll nightmare. Curt and Staci discuss his short story “Long Ghoul Woman in a Black Dress” as well as haunted songs, the year 1978, and a horror film he costars in, called Valentine DayZ (which is the same movie where our theme song—She’s Out for Blood by Fuzzbuster—comes from). Lastly, Staci reads from Rock & Roll Nightmares: True Stories, telling the tale of the craziest music copyright lawsuit in the history of rock.

Staci interviews the director and the narrator of an amazing new rock doc, Randy Rhoads: Reflections of a Guitar Icon. Andre Relis and Tracii Guns join the show to talk about the making of this exhaustively researched and truly eye-opening movie about a guitar hero that we love but know relatively little about. They also talk about Randy Rhoads' legacy, how the elements came together, and yes—they play along with the premise of the show and share their own personal “rock & roll nightmares.” Lastly, Staci reads from the 27 Club chapter of her book, Rock & Roll Nightmares: True Stories, Vol 1., telling the tale of Canned Heat’s Al Wilson and how he died.

Staci and cohost Joel D. Amos interview the lead vocalist of several hard rock and metal bands, Susie Rose Major. Her group Facedown was featured in the cult classic horror film, Rocktober Blood, and she is currently in one of the best Aerosmith tribute bands, RagDolls. Susie talks about the challenges of being in all-female bands, dishes on an inauspicious meeting with Rod Stewart, and reveals the “Brady Bunch connection” she had when she was asked to contribute songs to the Sharknado cineverse. Staci and Joel also discuss his short story in Rock & Roll Nightmares: Do You Fear Like We Do, the 1970s edition. Staci and cohost Marco Mannone interview Peter Bebergal. He studied religion at Brandeis and Harvard Divinity School and is the author of Season of the Witch: How the Occult Saved Rock and Roll. From The Beatles to Black Sabbath, this fascinating book shows how the marriage between mysticism and music changed the world. Peter talks about the mysticism behind rock artists like David Bowie and Jimmy Page, plus lesser-known music/occult figures like Arthur Brown (“I am the god of hellfire!”). Staci and Marco discuss Marco’s short story “Hell-A Woman” in Rock & Roll Nightmares: Along Comes Scary, the '60s Edition, and his brand-new novella, The Haunting of Nicolas Cage. Lastly, Staci reads from Rock & Roll Nightmares: True Stories, recounting one of Keith Moon’s many misadventures.
