Manika shares a raw account of how after two pregnancies she was at an all-time high of 80 kilos feeling low on energy, not her best, and wanting to make massive changes. With the help of her siblings, she made some initial lifestyle changes... and then joined RNT in January this year and recently completed a photo shoot at 50 kilos.

In this episode, she shares the 3 exact systems she's using to build a sustainable lifestyle solution despite working 12 hours a day, raising two kids, and juggling all the realities of modern day life. She also shares some of the habits she didn't realize she was doing on a daily basis until she joined RNT.

"I still cannot believe this is my body and that at 60, I can still do this."

That's a quote from Agostina, who on today's episode shares her journey of getting into the best shape of her life at 61 years young. She thought her chance to achieve her dream body had passed and when she hit 60, she thought, "If not now, then when will I do it?"

And six months later, she's in the best shape of her life. She has completed a photo shoot and she now gets daily compliments from friends, colleagues, and even strangers at the supermarket on her brand new physique.

Terry felt ashamed when he found himself contemplating liposuction just so he could look and feel more confident at work.

 

He was ashamed of his body and ashamed that he was even considering surgery! Something deep inside him told him that it wasn't the right thing to do. And he knew that he would not be able to face his kids if he went down that route.

 

What he needed was a holistic approach to wellness that would make him feel great and make his kids proud of their dad. With his mind made up, Terry signed up to RNT.

In this episode of RNT Fitness Radio I'm joined by Coach Ivan to discuss all things emotional eating. I believe the single biggest reason for inconsistency on a diet is our inability to manage our stress and emotions, and then resort to food or drink as a result.

 Emotional eating can show up in many ways, from high pressure work situations, to relationship arguments, to simply boredom and bad habits. And according to a "Stress In America" Survey conducted by American Pyschological Association, 38% of adults have overeaten in the last month due to stress. Interestingly, our own data from a public survey we've ran for the last 6 months reported 77% of participants had an episode where they regretted eating as much as they did in the previous month. Emotional and stress eating is a big problem - if you want to build some tools to help you, you'll love this episode.

Recently I was in a conversation with an RNT member who asked, "have you ever thought about recording an episode with the parents of the RNT team to see the different ways they balance parenting and fitness?" I thought this was a brilliant idea, and something I'd love to hear about too. 

 

So I brought in different members of the team: Shwetha, Charlie and Ed into the studios, to find out the routines, tricks and strategies of balancing all the books. What's interesting is each of us have kids of different ages, and each have different personal stories which influence their approach. It was a fascinating discussion that had me sneaking out the house the very next day at 5.45am for a run before my wife and daughter woke up!

Ep 347 - Hall Of Fame | Dhiren Patadia: 50kg Weight Loss @ 50 Years!08 Aug 202301:04:20

Sometimes you need an earth shattering moment to propel you to make a change. Dhiren had many all at once, including the birth of his son, and a serious word from his doctor. At 120kg just shy of 50 years old whilst being borderline pre-diabetic, he was told if he didn't lose weight he'd have a heart attack before 60. What's worse is the doctor said it'd probably be fatal.

Having worked in branding and marketing for food startups, she discovered her passion for making plant-based foods more accessible to people.

Ep 333 - 31 Harsh Truths I wish I knew at 2124 May 202300:29:34

30 was a best year on record. This morning I went for a walk with Sia and thought damn, it's crazy what you can do in a year!

 

Here's a few highlights:

  1. Finding out we were pregnant with Sia (and of course, her arrival 3 weeks ago!)

  2. I competed in my 1st Muay Thai fight (after 4 months of starting!) 

  3. We launched our brand new RNT app (exclusive for our members)

  4. Went a whole year vegan (and being the fittest I've ever been)

  5. Crossed a few cool milestones: 5 years in business, 3100+ transformations, 330+ podcast episodes

  6. Spent 3+ months travelling, including 2x month long stints with Chandni for the 1st time (we were never able to do this when she worked corporate!)

Birthdays are always an opportunity for reflection. So as I turn 31 today, I wanted to share 31 harsh truths I wish I knew at 21. Ironically, my parents could've told me all of these back then. But hey, who listens at that age! Without further ado, let's dive in:

Ep 317 - Hall Of Fame | Mark Shaw: Losing 35kg & RETIRING At 50!20 Feb 202300:47:11

Christmas had come and gone. And Mark was looking back at some of the memories, when he spotted a video that took him by surprise. He was out of breath sitting down, with his stomach on display. He felt embarrassed, and immediately knew he needed to do something about it. With many of his friends having transformed with RNT, he knew there was only one place to make it happen. The rest is history.

The biggest challenge for Mark was the knowledge on how to get results when you're time poor and juggling multiple priorities. As an active father and busy entrepreneur running multiple businesses, Mark needed a structure, strategy and system that worked for HIS lifestyle. And since starting RNT in May 2021, just after his 50th birthday, Mark is now unrecognisable.

He's gone from 105kg to 71.3kg. His energy and confidence is through the roof. And he's used the physical as the vehicle to level up every aspect of his life.

Over the course of this journey, he's acquired over 60 deals in the property space, sold a business and has officially "retired" from his day-to-day. Ep 315 - Hall Of Fame | Thiago Luz: Becoming A Role Model Dad07 Feb 202301:03:45

When Thiago became a dad in 2019, he started thinking back to his childhood. Growing up, his father couldn't do any intense exercise due to 5 heart operations. So it was always clear when his time came, he'd want to be able to do whatever they wanted with him; whether it be running, swimming, playing or jumping. At the end of 2021, Thiago noticed his vitality was decreasing. He was constantly looking for places to sit down when he was out to play with his daughter. Which is when he realised something needed to change. Having listened to the RNT podcast for years, Thiago had RNT at the top of his mind. But initially, he wanted to try to figure it out himself. Lacking accountability, support and guidance, he fell into the Monday to Friday dieting trap. "I was eating pizzas on Fridays, burgers on Saturdays, and brownies on Sunday afternoon with wine at night". This coupled with hopping from one fitness programme to the next, every few weeks, meant Thiago was getting nowhere. Until he decided to bite the bullet, and go all in with RNT! Ep 314 - Hall Of Fame | Abhi Thakur: 32kgs In 15 Months & Counting…03 Feb 202301:04:38

I got a really special one for you today with one of my best friends, Abhi Thakur. Abhi's been on one hell of a journey with us at RNT, having dropped 32kg in the past 15 months since we launched Pro in October 2021. The crazy bit is he's still going, with another 10-15kg to reach his life-long dream of six-pack abs. I recorded this a few days ago whilst training in Phuket with Abhi, who happens to have one of the biggest work capacities and training intensities I've seen. As a high performing city executive who's absolutely crushing it in his career, health has always been the missing piece of the puzzle. Until now. Seeing his behaviour, mindset and identity totally transform has been a pleasure to witness, and this episode goes deep into exactly what it takes to radically change yourself.
