Spring’s coming and I’m out of retirement for a few gigs to bring summer in, so I’m trawling the crate for some mid-afternoon grooves to get people nodding and chin stroking. This one’s an eclectic mix of stuff that’s perfect for the garden…

Some lovely dub, deep tech and 127 BPM Techno the climbs up to a Dave Clarke banger.

Easing into some progressive house, before I turn my attention back to the techno.

One of my favourite mix tapes from back-in-the-day was originally mixed by Mike Cosford as part of the Obsession: Progressive Excellence 6 pack. I've never had a decent copy of this, mine was a copy-of-a-copy-of-a-copy, that was slightly chewed, and then ripped to 128kbps MP3 sometime in the late 90s. So I bought the tracks I was missing on vinyl, sampled them, cleaned them up, practiced where Mike originally dropped them, and re-recorded it. I've broken all sorts of DJ etiquette here -- apologies Mike -- but I needed a decent version of this mix that would last me for another 30 years.

Going old-school for a bit. Here's the first mix I recorded on CDs, back in 2006-ish? Old school progressive house.

Managed to keep a lid on this for about 30 minutes, and then it explodes. Couple of absolute bangers in the middle. The sound of my party season :D

Still crawling through the summer's bangers. Slightly less energy in this mix, and a couple of remixes of old classics that you may have heard me play before.

I’ve been slowly trawling through my vinyl, cleaning stuff, and doing a bit of organising. Found a load of white labels and mash-ups that I’ve never used, so… time to record a vinyl mix!

Another dark-tinged melodic techno mix, leaning toward pea-time, cos there’s just so much good, dark music about atm. Turn those Xmas lights off abd lock in.

Nice mix of Deep Tech and House from the Summer of '09. Guest mixed for Adil&Doax’s Und3r Kontrol Podcast. Lots of layers and cheeky changes.

I think I did this mix about a month after the previous FTA, but it's a slightly harder, more techy sound. Anyway, I've run it through the re-master-a-tron and tried to save it from the horrible brickwall limiting I put on the original. (Remember the loudness wars? What a time to be alive...)
