| Honey's Mini Therapy Adventures | Interview with Mary Rose Gullett | 03 Mar 2026 | 00:22:33 | |
Equine assisted therapy is a well-accepted form of treatment for emotional, physical, and mental conditions. In most cases, clients and patients must travel to a stable or riding facility where they work with full-sized horses. In Florida, one equine therapy practice works a little differently – little being the operative word. They use mini horses and go directly to the senior center, assisted living facility, hospital, hospice, school, or counseling offices. Mary Rose Gullett never planned to make equine therapy her career, but that changed when she bought a mini named Honey for her young daughter. In this episode of “Conversations Beyond the Barn,” host Fran Severn speaks with Mary Rose to learn how using minis for therapy is changing the possibilities for therapists and counselors.
