Inspired by a summer professional learning seminar, Ms. McGill lays out the "ground rules" for the year ahead with UT OnRamps Rhetoric: Who is teaching? Why is she teaching it that way? What can you expect? All of the rhetorical questions are answered, and more, in this "first day of school speech" that is designed to start the year off right!

In this episode, Ms. McGill helps AP Language students navigate the summer reading list with purpose. Instead of reading summaries, she breaks down the books into meaningful themes: resilience, justice, identity, ambition, history, and more - while connecting each one to real-world issues that matter to teens today. Whether you love memoirs, social justice, history, or science, there's something on this list that will challenge your thinking and shape your voice! This isn't just about finding a book - it's about choosing a book that speaks to you!
