In this video, I respond to Mohammed Hijab’s attack on Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab رحمه الله.

Rather than engaging with the evidences, the books, and the call itself, we often see a familiar tactic: attacking the caller in order to undermine the call. This is not a new approach. Throughout history, the opponents of the Prophets and reformers sought to discredit the messenger when they could not refute the message.

The real question is not whether someone likes or dislikes Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab. The question is: Was his call a call to Tawhid? Was he calling people to worship Allah alone, abandon shirk, and return to the Qur’an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf?

In this video, I examine the claims, expose the fallacies, and demonstrate why personal attacks are not a substitute for knowledge, evidence, and sincere scholarship.

False Takfīr & the Methodology of the Khawārij

One of the most dangerous deviations in Islamic history is the practice of declaring Muslims to be disbelievers without clear, sound, and scholarly evidence. The Khawārij became known for this excess — rushing to takfīr based on misunderstandings, emotions, and corrupt principles.

In this episode, we revisit the early warning signs of extremism through a powerful prophetic incident involving Dhul Khuwaisirah.

When Dhul Khuwaisirah objected to the Prophet’s judgment and accused him of injustice, the Prophet Muhammad did not dismiss it as a minor comment. Instead, he gave a detailed, precise description of a future group whose characteristics would mirror this attitude — a group that would later become known as the Khawarij.

The young man came online attempting to mock me over my stance on the boycott — based on lies about me — but the conversation quickly shifted into a serious discussion on takfīr. It’s astonishing how uninformed some of these youth are; all they have are loose strands of knowledge and lingering doubts that have led them to embrace the destructive bidʿah of the Khawārij.

Discussing one of the principles of Khawarij: Ruling by other than Allah’s rule makes you an apostate – no exceptions!

In Islam, declaring a ruler, a government, or an entire population as apostates (takfīr ʿāmm) is a major matter that requires clear proof from the Qur’an and Sunnah, applied case by case with the conditions and without ignoring the preventions.
