Way back in 1890 a Vaudeville Theater opened at 2621 Vine Street in Cincinnati. Over the years, the building was home to various tenants until the mid-70s when it was remodeled and rebranded as Bogart's. On this week's show, it's all about Parts Of The Brain! The program will be divided into 3 parts: The Cerebrum, Cerebellum, and the Brainstem. I'll be featuring songs that correspond with the functions of each of those parts.

Cerebrum - The largest part of the brain and is composed of right and left hemispheres. It performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing, as well as speech, reasoning, emotions, learning, and fine control of movement.

Cerebellum - Located under the cerebrum. Its function is to coordinate muscle movements, maintain posture, and balance.

Brainstem - Acts as a relay center connecting the cerebrum and cerebellum to the spinal cord. It performs many automatic functions such as breathing, heart rate, body temperature, wake and sleep cycles, digestion, sneezing, coughing, vomiting, and swallowing.

Back in September 1978, WKRP In Cincinnati debuted on CBS. The sitcom told the story of the misadventures of the staff at a struggling fictional radio station. Back in 1985, Northern Kentucky University launched WNKU - a radio station that offered listeners an eclectic blend of alternative, folk rock, classic rock, bluegrass, and music by local artists. In 2011, the station expanded it's footprint in the tri-state by acquiring two additional frequencies. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, the station was sold in 2017. This week on RITY, I'll be spotlighting songs that WNKU played during their final day on air back on September 28th, 2017.
