We had no idea what to expect when we got to Captain America (1990). We knew there'd be fake ears, sure. But does this movie live up to its reputation as being a bad movie? Or would there be moments of heroics punching their way out of the dark like so many star-spangled fists? Maybe it's a bit of both. Frank Castle is not a complex man. He is on a one-man mission to destroy organized crime because his family was taken from him by the same sort of criminals he targets every night as The Punisher. Frank Castle is a man of few words. He has no friends. And sooner or later he will die, but he will take out as many criminals as possible before that happens. Dolph Lundgren plays the isolated, stoic and wounded side of Frank Castle possibly better than anyone else has cinematically. Whether this is considered to be a good movie or not, one thing is certain, Dolph Lundgren brought Frank Castle to life on the big screen.

In this episode, we unpack the strange journey of cartoonist Stu Miley (Brendan Fraser), who finds himself trapped in a bizarre limbo world filled with oddball creatures, bad decisions, and one very horny monkey. We'll explore the film's chaotic tone, the surprisingly impressive creature design by Stan Winston Studio, and ask the big questions—like "Who exactly was this movie for?" and "Was Hollywood just... okay with this?"

We also look at director Henry Selick's jump from The Nightmare Before Christmas to Monkeybone, and how the film's troubled production and studio meddling might've buried its potential. Expect laughs, bewilderment, and a healthy dose of 2000s nostalgia (and regret).
