How do you forgive someone when what they did was truly wrong?26 Aug 202600:30:05

Send us Fan Mail

What are you still carrying because you believe you have a right to carry it?

Anger. Resentment. Betrayal. Father wounds. An apology you never received. Years you can't get back.

In this solo episode of The Redeemed Podcast, Lauren Burns talks honestly about biblical forgiveness and what it means to surrender anger and resentment without pretending the hurt wasn't real.

While reading Jeremiah 32, Lauren was struck by an unusual act of faith: God tells Jeremiah to purchase a field while Jerusalem is under siege and the land is being overtaken by Babylon.

From a human perspective, it makes absolutely no sense.

But Jeremiah acts on something he cannot yet see: God has promised restoration on the other side of devastation.

And that raises an important question:

What if forgiveness is believing God enough to release what happened and trust Him with what comes next?

Lauren also shares from her own journey of healing while writing STOLEN: A True Story—Kidnapped, Rescued, Redeemed, including what God has continued to teach her about father wounds, anger, forgiveness and healing. The transcript makes clear that writing the book has continued to uncover layers of healing rather than simply revisiting a story that was already completely resolved.

In this episode:

  • Why forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was okay
  • The difference between forgiveness and reconciliation
  • Why healthy boundaries can still be necessary
  • What Jeremiah's field teaches us about trusting God's future
  • How unforgiveness can affect relationships, marriage and parenting
  • Why healing can happen in layers
  • How to surrender anger when it feels justified
  • Why the devastation doesn't get the final word

One truth to remember:

Your wound may be part of your story, but it does not get to write the ending.

Jeremiah saw devastation. God saw restoration.

Maybe today God is asking you to trust Him with what you've been carrying.

🙏 Stay through the end for a prayer for anyone struggling with forgiveness, resentment, father wounds or deep hurt.

What If Your Waiting Isn't Wasted? | Paige Allen on Trusting God in the Delay19 Aug 202600:32:08

Send us Fan Mail

What if the season you desperately want God to end is actually a season He is using?

Waiting for healing. Waiting for a relationship to change. Waiting for a child. Waiting for direction. Waiting for a dream God placed in your heart to finally become reality.

In this episode of The Redeemed Podcast, Lauren Burns sits down with author and Bible teacher Paige Allen to talk about what it means to trust God when His timing doesn't look anything like ours.

Drawing from her new book, Matriarchs: What the Women of Genesis Teach Us About Our Part in God's Story, Paige takes us into the lives of Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah—women who received promises from God but often had to wait years before seeing those promises unfold.

Paige also shares her own story of waiting seven years after a publisher rejected her first book because she “didn't have a platform.” What felt like wasted years ultimately became part of the very message God was preparing her to write.

In this conversation, you'll hear about:

  • Why your waiting season may not be wasted
  • What Sarah's story teaches us about trying to force God's timing
  • How to recognize the difference between expectancy and expectations
  • What to do when God seems silent
  • How to hold onto hope when circumstances haven't changed
  • Why sometimes the most honest prayer is simply, “Jesus, I need You”
  • How to discern God's calling from all the good opportunities competing for your attention
  • Why God may be doing something in you while you're waiting for Him to do something for you00:00 Your Waiting Isn't Wasted

Raised Jewish, Found Jesus: The Hidden Faith That Changed Everything12 Aug 202600:37:33

Send us Fan Mail

What happens when following Jesus could cost you your family, your community, and the identity you’ve known your entire life?

In this episode of The Redeemed Podcast, Lauren Burns sits down with Bible teacher Sandi York to share her powerful journey from growing up in a traditional Jewish home to discovering a personal relationship with Jesus as the Messiah.

Sandi grew up immersed in Jewish tradition in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Jewish day school, and her parents ran Alabama’s only Jewish newspaper. But when her mother came to believe that Jesus was the Messiah, Sandi was warned to keep that belief hidden from their Jewish family and community.

For years, Sandi lived between two worlds—carrying secrecy, fear, and shame while trying to maintain the life others expected of her.

After a short-lived marriage, difficult choices, and a season that brought her to rock bottom, Sandi found herself awake at 2:00 a.m., crying out to God.

What happened next began changing everything.

Within weeks, God opened doors for a job at a Christian radio station and a place to live through a coworker. For the first time, Sandi experienced Christian community up close. She began learning about prayer, devotionals, Scripture, and what it meant not simply to know about Jesus—but to surrender her life to Him as Lord.

Eventually, Sandi faced another decision: Would she continue hiding her faith, or would she live unashamed of the gospel?

Her decision to tell the truth led to letters sent to friends and family, painful backlash, public exposure, and strained relationships. But it also led to freedom, healing, restored relationships, and a faith she no longer had to hide.

Today, Sandi teaches Scripture and encourages others to know God deeply and personally. She shares why **Song of Solomon 8:5—“Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?”—**has become such a meaningful picture of her walk with God.

In this conversation, Lauren and Sandi talk about Judaism and Christianity, Messianic Jewish identity, family expectations, shame, secrecy, surrender, prayer, finding Jesus, spiritual transformation, and having the courage to live out your faith.

If you have ever wrestled with family expectations, felt afraid to openly live out your faith, or wondered whether God could meet you at rock bottom, Sandi’s story is a reminder that He can meet us in the wilderness—and teach us to lean on Him.

Why Your Breakthrough May Be Delayed—And What Solomon's Prayer Can Teach Us01 Jul 202600:26:14

Send us Fan Mail

Have you been praying for healing, restoration, direction, or breakthrough—and wondering why God hasn't answered yet?

In this powerful episode of The Redeemed Podcast, Lauren Burns explores one of the most overlooked lessons in Scripture. When God appeared to Solomon and told him to ask for anything, Solomon chose wisdom over wealth, power, success, or revenge.

Because Solomon's heart was aligned with God's will, God responded with more than Solomon ever imagined.

Through the stories of King David, King Solomon, and Hannah, Lauren unpacks what it means to pray prayers that honor God, trust His timing, and position our hearts for the blessings He wants to give.

This episode is for anyone who feels stuck in the waiting, discouraged by unanswered prayers, or desperate for God's direction.

You'll Learn:

✔ Why some prayers seem delayed

✔ What God looks for when we pray

✔ How Solomon's prayer changed everything

✔ The connection between humility and breakthrough

✔ How to pray according to God's will

✔ Why surrender often comes before blessing

✔ What may be holding you back spiritually

✔ How to trust God while you wait

What Happens When a Wife Refuses to Give Up? Marriage Restoration, Surrender & Redemption17 Jun 202600:39:23

Send us Fan Mail

What do you do when the person you love is living a double life?

Dan Scott grew up in church. His father was a pastor. He knew Scripture, attended church faithfully, and looked like he had it all together on the outside.

But behind closed doors, Dan was battling pornography, infidelity, alcohol, and years of unresolved wounds from childhood trauma.

For more than two decades, he hid his struggles from the people he loved most.

Until everything came crashing down.

In this powerful conversation, Dan shares how his secret life was exposed, the pain it caused his wife and daughters, the moment he hit rock bottom, and the conversation with his father that changed everything.

Most importantly, this is a story of God's grace.

It's a story of a wife who never stopped praying.
A father who responded with love instead of condemnation.
And a Savior who met Dan in his darkest moment and transformed his life.

If you're struggling in your marriage, battling addiction, carrying shame, or praying for someone you love, this episode is for you.

"No marriage is too broken. No person is too far gone."

Why God Allows Wilderness Seasons | Waiting on God, Unanswered Prayers, Deuteronomy 925 Mar 202600:36:56

Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever felt like God is silent? Like your prayers are going unanswered, progress is painfully slow, and you are doing everything you know to do — praying, trusting, showing up — yet still feel stuck in a wilderness season?

In this solo episode of the Redeemed Podcast, Lauren Burns shares a heartfelt biblical encouragement for anyone walking through a long season of waiting, grief, uncertainty, or spiritual dryness. Drawing from Deuteronomy 9, Lauren unpacks how Moses reminded the Israelites that their wilderness journey was not wasted. What felt like delay was actually preparation. God was shaping their hearts, stripping away pride, and teaching them to trust Him fully before entering the Promised Land.

Lauren also shares parts of her own story — including the trauma of being kidnapped by her father as a child, the anger and confusion that followed, and how God used her wilderness season to bring healing, purpose, and redemption.

If you are asking:

  • Why is this season taking so long?
  • What is God doing while I wait?
  • Why do I feel spiritually dry?
  • How do I trust God when I cannot see Him working?

This episode is for you.

You’ll be reminded that God has not forgotten you, your prayers are not wasted, and your wilderness season may be the very place where God is preparing you for what is ahead.

In this episode, Lauren talks about:

  • Why wilderness seasons feel so painful and confusing
  • What Deuteronomy 9 teaches us about waiting on God
  • How pride and self-reliance can delay spiritual growth
  • What the Israelites’ 40-year journey reveals about obedience and trust
  • Lauren’s personal testimony of trauma, healing, and redemption

  • The importance of community during hard seasons
  • How forgiveness and surrender lead to freedom
  • Why your wilderness is not the end of your story

Surviving Trafficking, Finding Freedom: Hope Beryl- Green’s Story of Rescue, Healing, and Redemption11 Mar 202600:37:31

Send us Fan Mail

Content Warning: This episode discusses trafficking, abuse, trauma, and sensitive topics. Listener discretion is advised, especially for younger audiences.

Today’s episode of The Redeemed Podcast is one of the most sobering and powerful conversations we’ve ever shared.

Host Lauren Burns sits down with Hope Beryl- Green, a survivor who courageously shares her testimony of survival, healing, and faith after a childhood marked by exploitation, trafficking, and profound trauma.

Hope opens up about being born into exploitation, enduring years of abuse and psychological control, and the long journey toward freedom and restoration. She also discusses her personal claims connected to elite trafficking networks and the emotional impact of seeing similar stories emerge in today’s media landscape.

This is not an easy story to hear — but it is ultimately a story of hope, redemption, and the transformative power of God’s love.

Through faith, community, and years of healing, Hope now uses her voice to bring awareness, advocate for survivors, and remind others that their past does not define their future.

If you have ever wrestled with shame, trauma, or the question, “Can healing really happen?” — this conversation offers both truth and hope.

We Discuss:

  • Hope Beryl-Green’s personal testimony of survival and healing
  • The reality of trafficking and psychological trauma
  • How faith and community played a role in recovery
  • The long process of emotional and spiritual healing
  • Breaking shame through honesty and safe relationships
  • Why bringing darkness into the light leads to freedom
  • How ordinary people can help protect and support survivors
  • Finding identity and healing through Christ

This episode reminds us that healing often begins when someone says yes — yes to listening, yes to loving well, and yes to being the hands and feet of Jesus.

If you or someone you know may be experiencing abuse or trafficking:

  • Seek immediate help from local authorities.
  • Reach out to trusted counselors or support organizations.
  • You can learn more through Hope’s ministry and resources below.

In this powerful episode of the Redeemed Podcast, host Lauren Burns reconnects with her high school friend Frank Miller to share a raw and hope-filled story of redemption.

Frank opens up about growing up in Lindale, Texas, and the challenges that followed him through high school and into adulthood—addiction, unresolved trauma, and the devastating loss of his best friend. What began as casual drinking slowly turned into a downward spiral of substance abuse, isolation, and despair.

When You’re in the Pit: Finding Purpose, Healing, and Hope Through God28 Jan 202600:26:48

What do you do when life takes a turn you never planned for?

In this special re-release of The Redeemed Podcast—one of our most-listened-to episodes—host Lauren Burns revisits a powerful, Scripture-filled conversation about finding purpose in pain and trusting God through life’s hardest seasons.

Lauren shares vulnerably from her own story—wrestling with father wounds, trauma, anger toward God, and the long road toward healing and forgiveness after being kidnapped as a child and rebuilding life after rescue. This episode isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about learning how to trust God when the answers don’t come right away.

Drawing from the biblical story of Joseph, Lauren explores how God can still be at work when we feel forgotten, rejected, falsely accused, or stuck in a season we don’t understand. From the pit, to the prison, to the promise—Joseph’s story reminds us that delay is not denial, and pain does not cancel purpose.

In this episode, you’ll hear encouragement for those navigating:

  • Childhood trauma and father wounds
  • Anger, doubt, and unanswered prayers
  • Loss, divorce, financial hardship, or major life transitions
  • Waiting seasons that feel unfair or endless
  • The journey toward forgiveness and freedom

This episode is for anyone who feels weary, unseen, or unsure of what God is doing behind the scenes. If you’re in the middle of a hard chapter, this conversation will remind you that God is still writing your story—and He’s not finished yet.

Finding Strength in the Waiting: Enduring Hard Seasons Esther, and Trusting God’s Timing24 Dec 202500:27:43

Send us Fan Mail

Waiting is one of the hardest parts of the faith journey — especially when nothing seems to be changing.

In this episode of The Redeemed Podcast, host Lauren Burns explores what it truly means to find endurance in seasons of waiting. From unanswered prayers and delayed dreams to medical challenges, relationship struggles, and financial uncertainty, Lauren speaks honestly about the tension between trusting God and longing for resolution.

Lauren shares her personal journey of waiting on God through the book-writing process — a season marked by preparation, surrender, and learning to trust God when outcomes were out of her control. She also reflects on a powerful full-circle moment: 32 years after her mother shared their rescue story on Heart to Heart with Sheila Walsh, Lauren recently sat on the set of Life Today to share how God has redeemed and healed her story.

Drawing from the biblical story of Esther, Lauren highlights how endurance is often formed in hidden seasons — long before deliverance or breakthrough arrives. Esther’s twelve months of preparation remind us that waiting is not wasted time, but a sacred space where God is positioning, refining, and protecting His people.

This episode is for anyone:

  • Waiting on healing from a medical diagnosis
  • Navigating relationship or marriage challenges
  • Walking through financial stress or uncertainty
  • Feeling stuck between preparation and promise
  • Struggling to trust God’s timing

Lauren encourages listeners to lean into prayer, surrender control, and trust that God is still working — even when progress feels invisible.

Waiting is not weakness. Waiting is endurance. And God wastes nothing.

Send us Fan Mail

In this powerful episode of The Redeemed Podcast, host Lauren Burns dives deep into what it really means to walk the narrow path and trust God’s timing when life feels uncertain.

She shares personal stories of surrender, waiting, and faith through seasons of loss, transition, and unexpected change.

  •  Practical ways to stay rooted in Scripture and peace

Unanswered Prayers → Unexpected Calling: Derek Welborn, Saints Western & Brandon Lake29 Oct 202500:34:27

Send us Fan Mail

Pastor Derek Welborn knows what it feels like to lose your reflection. When alopecia took his hair, it began stripping far more than follicles—it chipped away at identity, confidence, and the life he thought he’d live. He prayed for the hair to come back. Silence. Then God answered in a way only God could: not by restoring what Derek lost, but by reframing who Derek is. In the quiet space of grief, Derek picked up felt, fire, and craft—and Saints Western was born. What started as a survival project became a calling: hand-crafted cowboy hats & boots that carry stories of faith and resilience. That unlikely road led to a partnership with award-winning artist Brandon Lake, bringing heritage craftsmanship to the King of Hearts era and beyond.
This conversation asks: What if God had answered quickly? Sometimes God’s plans are bigger than our asks, and the “no” we fear becomes the doorway to a life we couldn’t imagine.
