What to do when your child just won't listen with Susan Groner08 May 202300:45:53

Susan (Sue) Groner joins me on this episode to discuss how we can shift our perspective as parents and make parenting young children who don't listen less stressful. We discuss: why young children don't always do what we tell them, how we can help support them during transitions in a way that is developmentally appropriate and understanding of their needs, how to respond to hitting and other aggressive behaviors, dealing with sibling rivalry, and the importance of 1:1 connection time.

Susan G. Groner, an experienced mother of 2 young adults, knows how stressful and overwhelming parenting can be.

As the founder of The Parenting Mentor, a multifaceted platform for parents looking for guidance in raising emotionally healthy, self-resilient children, Sue provides simple and effective parenting strategies. With the goal of reducing everyday stress and anxiety that inevitably comes from being a parent, Sue provides a roadmap that shifts perspective to help parents be happier and more relaxed.

Sue is the author of Parenting with Sanity and Joy. 101 Simple Strategies,  the host of The Parenting Mentor Sessions Podcast and a certified Positive Discipline parent educator. She is also the creator of the CLEARR™, a method of parenting developed through years of trial (and her fair share of errors!).  CLEARR™ adheres to the belief that parenting strategies should be grounded in six important pillars: Communication, Love, Empathy, Awareness, Rules, and Respect. This has become the cornerstone of her practice as The Parenting Mentor.

From how to stop being the homework, screentime, food, or sleep warden to reducing sibling rivalry, the wisdom of her methodology helps parents foster and maintain a more fulfilling and stress-free experience while in the trenches of day-to-day child-rearing.

He's been researching censorship, media distortion, and disinformation in America for five years now, with the distinct hope that the underlying facts about "fake news" in America -- and the disinformation that is peddled every day in our corporate media -- will inspire Americans to exercise and defend our rights to Free Speech and a Free Press. He grew up in an intentional community in West Virginia, spent an adventurous year in China being lied to by their media, and lives now with his wife and son in Sebastopol, California.

Pelvic Floor Therapy + Dry Needling with Dr. Betty18 Apr 202400:33:11

On this episode, my pelvic floor therapist, Dr. Betty, joins me to discuss pelvic floor therapy and pelvic floor heath as well as how she uses dry needling in her practice.

Dr. Betty is the founder and owner of Reborn Pelvic Health & Wellness. She is extremely passionate about changing the standard of care before, during and after pregnancy, because POSTPARTUM IS FOREVER!Dr. Betty is a world-class pelvic health expert and has built a center of excellence in Utah for pelvic floor physical therapy. She is a physical therapist by trait and has helped 1000s of people throughout her 10+ year career function, feel and move better. She received her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madision in 2012.Knowing first-hand how difficult it can be to navigate this stage of life, having two children of her own, she wanted to help others get back to living their lives to the fullest without shame or embarrassment about their pelvic health. Unfortunently, more often than not, pelvic dysfunction can lead to postpartum mood disorders, secondary to an inability to get back to activity because of unexpected physical changes, pain, discomfort, leaking, and/or painful intimacy. What if we worked more upstream? What if we worked on preventing dysfunction from happening in the first place? And what if we provided true prehab and rehab to our birthing people? And that was where Reborn was derived out of.As a doctor of physical therapy, she believes one-on-one care is the best. Because many people do not have access to pelvic rehab, she created The Optimal Vagina: Beyond Kegels to reach more people. You can now start your journey and optimize your vagina in your own home online. She specializes in treating return to exercise postpartum with endurance sports and athletes. She is also passionate about finding the “why” behind your symptoms, optimizing your body and empowering you to become the expert of your own body so that you can live life to the fullest. When not at work you can find Dr. Betty hanging out with her husband, two daughters, and two fur-babies (dogs). She also spends her time enjoying endurance sports like, marathon training, triathlon training, lifting weights, hiking, and cross country skiing.
