I'm Praying My Marriage Changes But I Don't See Any Evidence

Saison 14 · Épisode 314

mardi 28 janvier 2025Durée 33:47

Are you struggling to keep praying for your marriage but not seeing evidence of change? In this episode, I open up about my own journey in marriage and faith. Like so many of you, I've had to grapple with trusting in God when everything around me seemed unchanged or even worsening. My husband, Shaun, and I have been through our share of struggles, and it wasn't until I truly learned to let go and surrender my own desires that I began to see God's work in our lives.

Throughout this episode, I outline five strategies that are crucial for maintaining faith, especially when you see no evidence of change:

  1. Continue to Pray
  2. Refocus Your Vision
  3. Imagine Positive Outcomes
  4. Act in Faith
  5. Surrender to God's will

4 Expectations Every Marriage Should Have

Saison 14 · Épisode 304

mardi 24 décembre 2024Durée 23:00

Expectations play a vital role in shaping marriages. In part two of my conversation with Mark and Jill Savage, we explore how four expectations in marriage can set a couple up for success. Expectations will either bring two people closer together or create a rift between them. This is why it’s important to learn to manage expectations within marriage. As a marriage coach, I've had the privilege of excavating the intricacies of marriages that, at their core, are molded by the expectations we hold. The Savages and I share personal experiences from our marriage journeys of rebuilding after infidelity. Listen and learn how understanding and realigning expectations can greatly impact and enhance your marriage.

Key Takeaways:

  • See Conflict as a Catalyst for Growth:
Conflict should be expected and embraced in a relationship.
  • Learn to Navigate Disappointments:
Accept that disappointment is part of any partnership.
  • Continue Investing in Your Marriage:
Just like any worthwhile endeavor, marriage requires ongoing education and investment.

✝️ If God is For Me, Why Am I Suffering?

Saison 12 · Épisode 214

vendredi 9 février 2024Durée 08:24

What happens when suffering comes? Often, we feel that God is against us or that we’ve done something wrong. In this episode, we explore conventional perspectives on suffering from the principles in the Book of Job in the Bible and other relevant scriptures. Understanding the purpose behind suffering and how faith can be a guiding light in our darkest times will help us to endure the suffering seasons when they come.

I offer a comforting prayer toward the end of the podcast for those facing suffering, acknowledging that God's plans are always good. We are taught the importance of trusting God even when the reasons for our pain remain unclear. As we surrender our will to God's will, we can find solace in the assurance that God is working all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

Help! My Husband Isn't Interested in Working on Our Marriage

Saison 12 · Épisode 213

mardi 6 février 2024Durée 28:37

Working on your marriage where your husband appears disinterested in investing effort can be a frustrating and disheartening experience. In this episode, my hubby, Shaun, and I discuss practical strategies to address this common concern among wives and how both spouses can work together to alleviate their marriage problems by putting in the necessary energy and effort.

Before delving into solutions, it's crucial to understand the heart of the matter. Shaun suggests wives take a moment to reflect on when they first noticed the change in their husband's engagement. Identify potential triggers or stressors that might have contributed to his disinterest. This understanding will help wives to tailor their approach to rebuilding the connection.

Sextimacy: From Awkward to Authentic Conversations About Sex

Saison 12 · Épisode 211

mardi 30 janvier 2024Durée 30:37

Married couples often find themselves in the midst of conversations with friends that touch upon intimate topics such as sex. Learn to have authentic not awkward conversations with the one you love. While sharing experiences and seeking advice from friends can be beneficial, it's crucial to navigate these discussions with sensitivity and respect. In this episode  Dan and Emily Purcell of the Get Your Marriage On! Podcast join me and my hubby, Shaun, as we explore the importance of setting boundaries in conversations about sex, a “no-churchy” Christian perspective on discussing intimate matters with friends, and the significance of openness and authenticity between spouses.

The Sextimacy Challenge Invitation:

Dan shared about the genesis of the Intimately Us app, a tool designed to help couples intentionally build intimacy. Acknowledging the discomfort some couples feel when broaching these conversations, the app provides a platform for guided challenges, making it easier for couples to initiate discussions about their desires, needs, and preferences.

The Sextimacy Challenge— is an exciting opportunity for couples to focus on strengthening their relationships for 14 days. Couples can sync their apps, complete daily challenges, and earn points for a chance to win prizes, including a grand prize of airfare for two to anywhere in the country this Valentine’s, 2024!

The Value of a Wife Tribe Like Thrive Wives

Saison 12 · Épisode 209

mardi 23 janvier 2024Durée 29:22

Marriage comes with its fair share of ups and downs. And finding a support system . . . a tribe, like Thrive Wives, is essential. I believe every wife needs a tribe. Mine is called Thrive Wives. In this episode, I talk about the profound impact of wife tribes – a network of supportive women who share their experiences, insights, and encouragement. We uncover the transformative power of wife tribes, including the importance of embracing vulnerability, breaking free from isolation, and fostering intentional connections for personal and relational growth.

Just like a healthy marriage, a cornerstone of any successful wife tribe is vulnerability. Opening up to others about our struggles can be intimidating. Fear of judgment or others’ expectations often leads many wives to keep their marriage problems hidden. In Thrive Wives, women are encouraged to embrace vulnerability and share their experiences within a trusted community. This not only brings solutions and healing but also forges beautiful, meaningful friendships.

Thrive Wives is accepting applications now. Learn more at https://danache.com/thrivewives
