In this episode of Figuring Out with Raj Shamani we are in conversation with Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of Lovely Professional University.
Rashmi Mittal, along with her husband Ashok Mittal, embarked on their entrepreneurial journey by running sweet shops. However, their passion for education and the recognition of a need for quality higher education in North India led them to explore the possibility of establishing an educational institution.
In pursuit of their vision, Rashmi and Ashok Mittal took a bold step and founded Lovely Professional University (LPU) in 2005. Located in Jalandhar, Punjab, LPU started as a modest endeavor but quickly gained momentum due to its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development of students.
Under Rashmi Mittal's leadership, Lovely Professional University has grown into one of India's largest and most prestigious private universities. With a focus on innovation, research, and providing a conducive learning environment, LPU has become a hub of academic excellence and has earned numerous accolades and recognition both nationally and internationally.
In this podcast she shared how she started a university from scratch and what challenges she faced. She also talks about what sets a university apart from others, why practical learning is more important, why India is not the leader in education, how students can crack high paying jobs and much more.
Watch the podcast till the end to understand the education business, challenges of running a university, Indian education system and much more.
