Welcome to #RPGaDAY2025!

#RPGaDAY2025 starts on August 1st and many folks will be posting for it one day at a time through the month, while many others share responses in ways that take some preparation time.

Please take some time and help spread the news on your social media

What is RPGaDAY?

Now moving into 12th year, RPGaDAY was launched by David F. Chapman who may be known to you from his work for Cubicle 7 on the long-lived Doctor Who RPG with its innovative Vortex system, this year’s new adaptaton of the Laundry Files series to an RPG for C7, for his own intriguing game W.I.L.D., or his days in indie comics. Along the way, I joined in to help. In the ten years since, David and I have been pleased, surprised, and often humbled by how many people in how many places have taken part in this event year after year.

Each day this month, roleplaying enthusiasts, industrialists and gamers work from the prompt list below to take inspiration from each of the 31 prompts to post positively in affirmation of the joys and benefits of RPGs and the relationships and skills we have developed as a result.

Meet the lady Gamers Kellie and Jocelyne who want to talk about International Women's Day (IWD) and were celebrating it this year at Tucson Games and Gadgets. On March 8 and I think this is a new tradition for every year! Today on International Women's Day we commemorate the movement for women's rights.

While the first observance of a Women's Day was held on February 28, 1909 in New York, the 1910 International Woman’s Conference suggested March 8 to become an "International Woman's Day."

On this special day love in all its forms flourishes across the world of mortals thanks to the actions of a certain scion of Aphrodite who two millennia ago insisted in the divine right of sharing love and bringing all couples together.

On this day to celebrate that saint and scion, the goddess Aphrodite sheds off her divinity to come to the mortal plane and serve as the goddess's priestess at the Chapel of divine love in Las Vegas, Nevada and then traditionally heads to the City of Love. In Paris she goes to complete an act of divine love to refresh and worship all the virtues of love among the mortals and usually concluding with the consummation of a future scion...but not this day.

This day something is different, something is wrong... 

Something has held Aphrodite from her normal rituals. Worse something is wrong in the mortal plane! Some dark effect, obviously of Titan origin is darkening and cursing the earthly virtues of love (as reflected in most notably Expression and Loyalty) with extreme reflections of the Titans Dark Virtues of Ambition, Malice, Rapacity and Zealotry.

Author’s Bio of John Paul Ried

 

John Paul Ried grew up in Upper Montclair New Jersey and moved to Phoenix, Arizona

in 2013. He has taught both college level history and English classes at Essex County College in

Newark NJ and Illinois Central College in Peoria IL. Mr. Ried also has taught Special Education

classes in public schools in both Kentucky and Nevada. He has three Masters Degrees and

multiple certifications.

 

 

Mr. Ried has an extensive professional fundraising background for non-profit

organizations such as the National Kidney Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America. Currently

Mr. Ried is CEO of Palamaran Adventures LLC which markets and distributes his fantasy fiction

books. He is also Chairman and Founder of the Arizona Fantasy Gaming Association (AFGA).

Since 1975, Mr. Ried continually plays many editions of Advanced Dungeons and

Dragons and Pathfinder. In his books, he has brought to life his Campaign World for his readers

to enjoy. His first book, “Reckless Ambitions: The Medford Family Chronicles Volume 1,” was

published by AZ Publishing LLC in May 2015. Mr. Ried’s second book “Capricious Deities:

 

 

The Medford Family Chronicles Volume II, was published in December 2015. The third book in

the series, “Pivotal Ruckus: The Medford Family Chronicles Volume III,” was published in

August 2016. Book IV – “Academic Mayhem: The Medford Family Chronicles Volume IV,” is

being written now.

 

 

He draws inspiration from his very demanding cat named Enalan. Along with his writing,

Mr. Ried also enjoys attending Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions and has met hundreds of imaginative

and interesting people such as Isaac Asimov, Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman, Terry Ferrell,

and Penn and Teller (Rebo and Zooty).

There are very few people more qualified to write about the roleplaying game hobby than Sean, and he's had all of them blackmailed into silence or deported. He entered the hobby with the very first D&D boxed set in 1976 and was never quite right in the head after that. Around 1989, he actually started working professionally in the industry, writing and designing for such games as Champions, Star Wars, Shatterzone, and the FUZION System before going on to spend some "interesting" years in the computer gaming world. Sean also wrote for such magazines as Dragon, Adventurer's Club, and InQuest Gamer.
