121 | People Pleasing and Your Finances - Why ‘Nice Guys’ are Broke Guys19 Mar 202500:19:20

Are you a People Pleaser when it comes to how you manage money with your spouse?

Years ago, Dylan realized he was a people pleaser. If Rebecca wanted to, she could have exploited Dylan's "Nice Guy" tendency to let her spend money how she wanted. Instead she encouraged Dylan to stand his ground and hold her accountable.

As we started coaching, we noticed a similar dynamic in other couples. The people pleaser would struggle to uphold financial boundaries or to hold their spouse accountable. They felt like they couldn't say "no" without causing a problem.

But “People Pleasing” can make reaching financial goals impossible. If you give your spouse a pass when they spend more than they said they would. Then you’re both going to continue feeling frustrated with your finances.

In this episode we share our experiences with people pleasing and managing money as a couple. Find out how learning to say "no" and holding each other accountable will help you reach your goals!

REPLAY - Do You Trust Your Spouse With Money?24 Jul 202400:27:40

Trust and managing money with your spouse go hand in hand. Which is why this week we’re prompting you to ask yourself - Do I trust my spouse with money, and does my spouse trust me with money?

But just as others might think this topic is off limits - to us that means it’s fair game. Because some of the problems that you may be having in your marriage when it comes to managing money and making financial decisions together, might be rooted in an issue with trust.

90 | Stop Having These 3 Common Money Arguments!13 Mar 202400:29:03

Having a different opinion than your spouse about financial issues is perfectly normal. But when talking about money turns into arguing about money, that can make building wealth impossible.

Even if you don't argue about money but you struggle to agree on a strategy and can't see a clear path forward - that is costing you big time!

The longer you go without a strategy, the more you miss out on intentional saving and investing. Which is why we want to help you stop arguing about money and learn to make better financial decisions together.

In this episode of the radmoney podcast we dig deep into:

  • Disagreeing about how money should be used.
  • Battling different money management styles
  • Struggling to agree on your top priority
  • How to work through these differences and what to focus on instead.

87 | Are You Missing Out on Easy Passive Income? - Monday Micro Money Tip04 Mar 202400:02:49

Earning interest from a High Yield Savings Account is the easiest way to start earning passive income. Yet only 82% of Americans are benefiting from having one of these accounts!

In a High Yield Savings Account you could be earning between 4-5% interest on your savings. That's more than $600/year on a $15,000 Emergency Fund.

While that's not going to make you rich. It's more than that savings account you got when you opened your checking account.

82 | Financial Intimacy: How Budgeting and Paying off Debt Improved our Marriage14 Feb 202400:26:01

When we decided to get serious about our finances, pay off our debt and reach Financial Freedom - we had no idea the benefits it would bring to our marriage!

Of course there were the obvious benefits that motivated us to protect our marriage. Less stress, fewer arguments and having the freedom to travel more.

But what we didn’t know was how learning to work together toward a challenging goal was going to help our marriage not just survive, but thrive!

What we realized much later was that through the process we cultivated Financial Intimacy in our relationship. Rather than financial issues being something that pushed us apart, it brought us together. All the while building trust, learning to communicate effectively, and other “soft skills” necessary to reach financial goals.

  • Financial Intimacy helps you connect with your spouse
  • Financial Intimacy and reaching Financial Freedom
  • Getting through challenges
  • Discussing financial needs and values
