| 209. Your Way vs. Their Way | 12 Aug 2025 | 00:15:10 | |
What do we do when the way everyone else leads doesn’t match how our brain works? Do we keep trying to force ourselves into their mold, or do we find our own way? Sometimes to “do it right” you actually have to do it ‘wrong’. Especially when doing it right just means “how closely do you sound to the models we’ve been taught?” In this episode:

| 208. Don’t Underestimate the Power of Quiet Leaders with Ashley Looker | 18 Sep 2023 | 00:37:41 | |
We have a tendency to underestimate quiet leaders. Or we assume anyone successful ISN’T a quiet leader. This hit home for me when my friend Ashley Looker said she wanted to come to my Gathering of Quiet Leaders. As an Empowerment Coach, Mindfulness Teacher and Journaling Expert for ambitious over-achieving humans, Ashley’s got 11,000+ followers for each of her biz and podcast accounts on IG. Her voice is definitely getting heard, and she’s no beginner. Listen to our co-hosted convo to reorient and peel away layers of internalized bias. AND if you’ve got a more mature business and want to be in the company of other established quiet leaders! In this episode, Ashley and I talk about…

| 199. The Highly Sensitive ADHDer - Neurodivergence in Quiet Leaders | 11 Jan 2023 | 01:10:57 | |
This is for you if you’re neurodivergent, suspect you are, love someone who is, or are simply ADHD-curious. For years, I suspected I was neurodivergent, that my brain worked differently than others. BUT I thought of ADHDers as bold, rash, outspoken and disorganized risk takers with overflowing energy. I, on the other hand, was a careful, shy, sensitive overthinker who ran out of steam by the afternoon. It didn’t seem possible to match up the view I had of ADHD with how I saw myself as an HSP (highly sensitive person). Until I read about masking. Kat and I talk about:

| 109 Standing in Your Power with Clients | 15 Jan 2019 | 00:23:57 | |
Finding your message to call in your people is more than simply saying the “right” words or choosing a “good” niche. You need to step into yourself in order to step into your message. And, if you’re anything like me, it seems like every week there’s a new challenge to being in your power. Your own clients are often that challenge. How do you stand in your power when you get triggered by clients so you can show up real, get bold, and stop pretending? That’s the question I answer in this episode. With lots of real-world examples. Because this hasn’t come easy for me. And when you can stay in your power with clients, you feel more confident unapologetically sharing more of yourself online. Deeper support from me:

| 108 Why Sisterhood Matters and How to Have More in 2019 | 10 Jan 2019 | 00:25:29 | |
One of the things I noticed wrapping up the past round of Get Clear, Get Clients in December was each woman’s feedback included the unexpected power of being in a group of women - the feedback they got from the other ladies, the support, the encouragement. The sisterhood. Entrepreneurship can not be done in isolation. That’s why in 2019 I’m setting an intention towards sisterhood. I’ve invested in a high level mastermind for myself, and I will be running more rounds of my own group programs this year. In this episode, I share how to recognize if your sisterhood tank is low like mine was in 2018 and how you can get your need for female connection met this year. Deeper support from me:

| 107 Model How You Want Your People to Show Up with Becky Mollenkamp | 11 Dec 2018 | 00:48:58 | |
We’re in an age when people are starting to lose trust with business coaches who are too polished and not sharing the real, messy side of themselves. In this episode of Unforgettable, Becky Mollenkamp and I have a honest conversation on why sharing raw moments (like your miscarriage, divorce, or losing your house) with your community connects them to you more deeply.Becky does a great job modeling what it looks like to continue showing up for business despite setbacks, gremlins, or life circumstances. And consequently, she gets repeat clients who buy everything she sells, referrals that bring new people into her community, and she has an incredibly active, engaged facebook group who share REAL things, not just promoting things they’re doing in their business. | 106 How to Be More Consistent in Your Marketing | 04 Dec 2018 | 00:27:47
Are you all over the place, not quite sure what you’re talking about? Or maybe you post when you feel like it which means there are huge gaps where you seem to disappear on your audience. Six years ago when I was creating content for my old brand Healthy Vegas Vegan, one week I’d talk about meal plans... the next I was sharing my fitness regimen... then the next week I was sharing my DIY shampoo recipe... then came my go-to meditation practice… And this would have been fine, but there was no thread that tied it all together. Then later on in my business, I’d often be stuck on what to write about so I would miss weeks. All of this meant I wasn’t getting known for any one thing.Which meant that despite all the effort, I was definitely not calling in clients. I needed to meet someone in person at an event and have a deep conversation. That was fine until consistently going to networking events became draining as an introvert. And to be honest, in the back of my head was a nagging voice that reminded me that I got into this coaching thing with the dream of creating a business that attracted clients online. Which I wasn’t doing. Since then, I’ve learned the hard way that consistency matters big time to the connection you’re building with your people.Consistency both in:
Which is why I wanted to have a heart to heart with you about this on Unforgettable and share how to set yourself up to be more consistent in your marketing. Deeper support from me:

| 105 What Personal Things to Share In Your Marketing | 28 Nov 2018 | 00:28:11 | |
A lot of my clients struggle with what parts of their life to share -- and what not to share -- in blog posts, videos, their Instagram or Facebook biz page. Do you ever struggle with what to share when you’re showing up as your brand online? Too much and you have no privacy. Too little and there’s a barrier to trust because you don’t seem human. But when people are getting to know you, it’s these little things that break the ice and create a sense of comfort and initial connection so people can engage on a deeper level. In this episode, I’ll help you determine what parts you want to share and how to let your people see the real you behind your business. Deeper support from me:

| 104 Being Real on Instagram & Positioning Your Service with Maggie Patterson | 08 Nov 2018 | 00:51:59 | |
Do you sometimes wonder how much to share? Or stop sharing when shit hits the fan in your life? My guest Maggie Patterson is pretty comfortable speaking her mind - she’s the friend who will tell you not to get those jeans. And yet, that’s not always synonymous with being able to show up real and honest with your audience. Maggie is host of Small Business Boss podcast, has been on stage at events such as New Media Expo, Podcast Movement, and the Conquer Summit, and her work has been featured in leading publications such as Entrepreneur.com, Fast Company and Virgin.com. I had her on to explore how you can show up as your real self and show your behind the scenes even when life takes you to hospital waiting rooms instead of beachside vacations. We’re also talking about how to position your work as premium once you’ve got clear messaging in place… and we have a deep conversation around female entrepreneurs earning more. | 103 Hiding Behind Your Brand & Scaling with Intention with Naomi Mdudu | 30 Oct 2018 | 00:57:14
What is your definition of success? What do you want to feel in business? Does it feel vulnerable to share your personal life and musings with your tribe and in your marketing? Naomi Mdudu is a former fashion journalist who worked as a business strategist for some of the leading names in the fashion and lifestyle industry and now helps entrepreneurs scale their businesses with intention with The Lifestyle Edit podcast and platform. Coming from a traditional newspaper background, Naomi used to be more comfortable hiding behind her brand. The ONE place she felt safe and at home communicating about herself was her newsletter - and (surprise!) that’s where her early clients came from. She was operating in a crowded space… and she began to realize that the thing that made a client choose her was feeling like they had a deep connection. Which you can’t do hiding behind your brand!Though her business has evolved, her mission has stayed the same - to help others scale with intention, with a clear vision of the life we want our businesses to support. Listen to set up your business to honor how you want to feel and to peel back the layers that keep you from connecting with who you’re serving.[ LIBSYN 50 x 550 ]

| 102 Navigating the Emotional Rollercoaster of Entrepreneurship | 24 Oct 2018 | 00:39:27 | |
Entrepreneurship is unstable. There are highs and lows in your income, your expenses, your client roster. And with that comes emotional equivalents. Even if the work you do is helping others maintain good energy. I know that intimately because I used to be a burnout coach who’d hit burnout a time or two. You’re human and it can feel VERY personal. As a big feeler, I’ve had my share of intense emotion over the years I’ve been in business. And I know that the lows can be debilitating -- they can energetically repel clients and suck the power out of consults.I’ve learned a lot about what helps me manage those emotions. I’m not saying I don’t have days where I want to pull the covers over my head or escape to the road with Steve on an adventure to avoid “real life”. But I know how to smooth out the flow so I enjoy the ride of being in business - mostly. On today’s episode, I’m going to share some of my hard won lessons -- from practical tools to mindset insights and resources to surround yourself with. After all, there is no destination, only the journey. If you don’t enjoy yourself now, you’re at risk of losing the very freedom and ease you got into business to have. Deeper support from me:

| 101 Step into Your Moxie with Alexia Vernon | 16 Oct 2018 | 00:57:36 | |
Have you ever felt like you were tap dancing on eggshells - striving to be liked, give the right answers, and not be called out for failing to be enough of whoever others wanted you to be? My hunch is, even if you answered yes, you may also have experienced a competing desire - to put yourself and your ideas out into the world in a big way. You know you were put here to say big things. To do big things. You want to be seen, you want to make impact, and that often feels scary. One of my biz besties, Alexia Vernon, knows this tension firsthand. Even as she built a successful career as a professional speaker and speaking coach, she experienced an on-again, off-again relationship… with her own voice. … despite presenting transformational keynotes and corporate trainings for Fortune 500 companies, speaking at the United Nations, delivering a TEDx talk, and being featured on CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, Forbes.com, and tons more. In today’s episode, we talk about what it means to “Step Into Your Moxie” - the title of her brand new book.Lex has committed her life to showing women how to develop the mindset, skillset, and behaviors to unapologetically speak their truth and have their communication move people to take action. In today’s episode, we jam on quieting the inner critic that inevitably arises you as put yourself out there for visibility opportunities and how to have unshakeable presence when you’re being a messenger for your brand. Today marks 100 episodes of the podcast (and 3+ years)! To celebrate, I’m giving you another real-life message clarity hotseat with a podcast listener!! You’ll likely hear some of yourself in Jacquie’s struggles and have aha moments alongside her. (The doors to Get Clear, Get Clients close on Thursday at 10pm PST, so if you’ve been thinking of joining us in the group program, it’ll give you a taste of what’s in store.) Even though Jacquie, a dental hygienist turned life, health, & wellbeing coach, knew she wanted to help women who struggle in their relationship with food - it was hard to clearly and simply get it across in her messaging. She’d heard me talk about "taking your coach hat off" on the podcast, but with her clinical background, she was having trouble putting herself in her ideal client’s shoes. In this episode, I help Jacquie get deeper clarity on the problem she solves for her people (it’s not exactly what she thinks) and craft language that will connect.By the end of our session, she’s able to see her person clearly in front of her and knows she’ll be able to confidently find those people who need her help. | 198. Quietly Disrupting and Introverted Activism | 13 Dec 2022 | 00:39:25
Your way is likely not loud. It may not be shouting on a loudspeaker at a protest or posting a polarizing opinion on social media. But that doesn't mean it isn't activism. In case the word “activism” has you thinking this isn’t for you, let me remind you that as a Quiet Messenger, you’re an activist. You are speaking on behalf of a message that needs to get heard. The reason you may discount yourself is that most of what we think of as activism is actually pretty extroverted. Join season co-host Kat Frogosa and I in this conversation on Introverted Activism. Because you CAN quietly show up for your values…and the truth is that introverts can be just as effective and are JUST AS NEEDED as loud, outspoken folks. *** Uncover your Messenger Archetype & more at AdriaSophia.com. Those people were her true people, and from them, her new movement was birthed -- women living by their own rules. I’ve shared what’s worked for me and my clients in episodes on showing up as yourself online, sharing uncomfortable things publicly, and calling in clients. But I’ve got a new question for you. | 95 Saying Your Bold Truth Even When It Feels Risky | 28 Aug 2018 | 00:21:44
It can feel downright risky to say something publicly that you know others will disagree with. Even if it’s something you intensely believe. As the face of your brand, there’s no front to hide behind. And you know the way to stay safe is by keeping the peace. Being safe means you often hesitate or procrastinate on putting yourself out there, that you don’t share your most meaningful - and bold - message. When what you crave is to say things that truly matter, be seen, and really connect with your people. But what if that very impulse to not share is what keeps you from having the impact and reach you desire? In today’s episode of Unforgettable, inspired by a popular post I did on Instagram, we tap into the courage to say what needs to be said without holding back. And in order to do that, I share some stuff that makes ME uncomfortable and that I’ve avoided sharing for years. | 94 The Key to Showing Up as Your Authentic Self Online | 21 Aug 2018 | 00:24:20
Making money is important to support a lifestyle that keeps you fueled and lit up along the way. But if money was your only goal, you wouldn’t have decided to be a coach and create a personal brand. What you crave is shaping people’s lives, making a real impact. So what you need is messaging that both leads to clients AND connects. And that requires four elements -- your stance, your skills, your solution… and your story. When you don’t include your story, your people won’t feel like they know you and there’ll be a limit on the trust you can build. When you do include it, your dream clients won’t settle for anyone else. Well, when you show up as your authentic self online, you’re basically bringing people inside your story. | 93 How to Word Your Niche So Potential Clients Get It | 14 Aug 2018 | 00:22:40
If people don’t get what you do, they won’t pay you. Plus, if it’s not easily repeatable, colleagues and friends can’t send others your way. Last week, I helped you communicate why your work is worth paying for. In today’s episode, I’m picking up where I left off with another level of practical guidance on crafting your messaging. But this time we’re honing in on the actual words you use. And answering another listener question: A challenge I have is answering “what do you do” at a networking event where the expected answer is a quick 1-3 word label like, "I'm a fitness coach" (vs. "I help rising professionals lose weight so they feel confident in their business clothes"). But when I use the quick 'label,' I find people assume I do something completely different. Listen to discover why your word choice matters and my 3-step process to hone the wording of your niche. | 92 Communicate Why Your Work is Worth Paying For | 07 Aug 2018 | 00:22:30
A few weeks back, before I headed out on my Bay Area road trip, I asked my email list a question: What challenges do you have when it comes to clearly communicating your niche, offer or messaging? As I plan out my upcoming challenge and start pre-enrolling for the next round of Get Clear, Get Clients, the answers I received have been on my mind. One of the most common responses that came back went something like this: The challenge I face is getting the client to understand the importance and the benefits of the work I do. I try to explain it in a clear and easy way, but it still doesn't seem like people are getting it. It's either that, or they just aren't interested. | 91 How I Call in Clients While I’m On Vacation | 01 Aug 2018 | 00:24:29
In May, Steve and I spent 10 days on a Mediterranean island - hiking, exploring, lounging. And when I returned, I had two clarity calls booked while I was away. Then within the next week as I was slowly easing back into my business, another two got booked. The same thing happened again this past week I spent on the road doing a brand photoshoot, a strategy day with my coach, and a speaker retreat. I came home to two new clarity calls in my calendar. Obviously these weren’t getting booked because I was out at networking events meeting people. Or because I was posting on Facebook or emailing my list with a call to action to book a call. Nothing active on my part. Instead, people were hearing me talk on interviews, coming back to my podcast, binging on episodes, then visiting my website and booking a call with me. And it worked because what I was saying was relevant and compelling to them. Aka they were booked because I had CLEAR MESSAGING. In this episode, I share 4 steps to take so you also effortlessly draw in the right people… even when you’re on vacation. Because I want you to take time off to do the things that inspire you and keep you fueled up. Announcements:

If you’re a messenger, chances are you’ve got “do a TED talk” on your bucket list. I’ve noticed that the main reasons my clients haven’t applied are 1) they don’t know what they’ll talk about or 2) the process feels daunting. | 88 Why Crickets & Low Sales Are Actually a Messaging Problem | 19 Jun 2018 | 00:20:43
When we’re getting crickets and low sales, most biz owners’ automatic first thought is - I’ll just hire someone to optimize my funnels / write catchy copy / run FB ads. But the real reason you’re getting crickets is NOT because there’s a leak in your funnel. It all comes back to messaging. If you don’t have that dialed in, nothing else is going to work. Even if you hire an assistant to take work off your hands so you can focus on “your zone of genius”. Even if you hire a copywriter to create you an amazing salespage. Even if you hire a publicist to pitch 10 podcasts a month for you. What will happen is:
On the contrary, when your messaging is dialed in so it’s clear to your audience how you can help them and they value what you do, you’ll draw in people you’re excited to work with who’re also excited to work with you. In this episode, I’m going to dig deeper into why you’re having this messaging problem and help you figure out how to fix it. Announcements:

So when I realized that I wanted to shift my focus to help other messengers move through that stifling feeling of knowing they have something BIG to say but not what it is, I had actual tears streaming down my face. Listen to today’s episode to hear more about my evolution and new direction and what it means for you. Or keep reading! Announcements:

| 82 Align What You’re Good At with What People Want with Steph Crowder | 08 May 2018 | 01:03:17 | |
There was a time (pretty recently!) that I compared myself to biz friends who were rocking “strategies” and focusing on fine-tuning conversion rates. And when I found myself deep in comparisonitis, I had a wake up call. That’s not me, it’s not my strength. I’m all about the individual people. And transformation. And ideas that turn into core messages. Thing is that being strategic is more about being intentional than about using step-by-step formulas. That’s why I’m so excited to share with you the convo I had with Steph Crowder. You may know her as being one third of the Fizzle show or from her own podcast Courage + Clarity. In our convo, we talk about why the fear of niching is real (and bogus), why women building businesses need equal parts inspiration and instruction, and how she found her core message branching off of Fizzle and then built a successful brand around it in ONE year. Two things I love about her: her use of the word “ruthless” and her whip-smart analogies. You’ll see. ;) Announcements:

| 81 How I Use 5-Day Challenges to Nurture Relationships | 02 May 2018 | 00:34:37 | |
I’ve listened to other challenge recap episodes where podcasters talk about their numbers and stats and conversions for challenges. This isn’t that show. Don’t get me wrong, I love those accounts and find them fascinating. But what I’ve learned by running 6 challenges over the last few years is that when you’re a coach, each connection you make with each individual person matters. For me, it’s not about the numbers. I’m not in the business of marketing. I’m in the business of transformation. And I’m betting you are too. That’s why, in this new episode, I take you behind the scenes and share:
Warmth, Adria P.S. Next week I chat with Steph Crowder from the Fizzle Podcast AND the Courage + Clarity Podcast about merging what you’re good at with what your people want. By the way, did you catch my interview on her show?? Check it out here. I may or may not drop the name of my first business… prepare to be surprised.
| 80 Why My Dream of Van Life Will Help You Get Clarity | 24 Apr 2018 | 00:15:06 | |
It all started with a love of tiny homes and exploring the world. Then Steve somehow found van life -- think converted tiny homes on wheels with gorgeous Instagram accounts of 40,000 followers, not unwashed beach bums. ;) Then I started to get into it too. With flashbacks to the freedom and exhilaration I felt on the 2 ½ month, 8,000 mile road trip I took across North America when I started my business 5 years ago. So together we started dreaming into what it would be like, how we’d lay out our van, started training Lexi to be fab off leash and taking her everywhere in the car… And I noticed that it felt really ENERGIZING to dream into this possible future. Where there was burnout at the start of the year, ideas and clarity began to seep in. This episode is for you if you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or lacking clarity on which direction to go. Because it’s hard to have clarity when you’re not doing things that excite you. Announcements:
Warmth, P.S. Next week I’m taking you behind the scenes of the online challenges I’ve used to nurture my tribe and cultivate relationships and genuine connection with potential clients.
| 196 A Persona vs Messaging that Feels Like *You* with Kat Frogosa | 29 Nov 2021 | 01:00:51 | |
Do you ever feel like there’s a certain way you need to sound to be heard online? An empath with a rebellious streak, Quiet Messenger Kat Frogosa is a natural-born nurturer with major resistance when being told to do things a certain way. If it doesn’t feel good deep down in her bones, she’s not doing it. She had seen so many women — especially burned out, overwhelmed empaths — cringe when they heard the word “finances,” and knew that there must be a better way. So she turned her background in finance into work as a Transformational Money Coach. But even though Kat was getting engagement on social media, her messaging didn’t feel like it truly reflected her.She had come away from past copywriting trainings with catchy copy but confused and unsure what her voice was, feeling scared to be herself — and like she needed to put on a persona and brush up on pop culture to sound “cooler.” Even when she knew what she wanted to say, she would stare at a google doc for 45 minutes, paralyzed to get it right before putting it out there. She was holding herself back, not actively seeking clients. Through joining a cohort of other Quiet Messengers, she began to see her sensitivity and empathic nature as a superpower rather than a weakness. She realized she could impact the lives of other women by teaching them the tools she’d learned to help herself. She realized that she could be a quiet person AND a disruptor…if she gave herself permission to just be herself.(And let out the bubbly, lots-to-say, magnetic voice of her inner Expressive Messenger Archetype!) Her confidence in herself as a quiet leader grew, and she found herself no longer holding back. She started showing up more on Instagram, being more consistent with her newsletter, and trying new strategies — like creating a quiz and a meditation — that she would never have tried if she wasn’t feeling so solid in her messaging (and her voice). This led to discovery calls, being invited to interviews, and new clients…until she was finally ready to go all in with pitching to be on podcasts and revving up her referral system! Listen in to hear Kat’s story. I bet you’ll relate to a lot! Kat and I talk about:

| 79 How to “Be Yourself” as a Personal Brand | 12 Apr 2018 | 00:21:34 | |
You’ve heard the advice… the most powerful personal brands are people who show up as themselves. But what does “just be yourself” even mean? I’m an avid hiker and a dobie mama so I talk about the backpacking trip to Havasu Falls I’m prepping for (this weekend already – squee!) and share pics of Lexi curled at my feet while I work in my office. Maybe you’ve tried infusing elements of your personal life into your brand – I like red wine so maybe I should have a ‘Wine with Melissa’ video show! Or you’ve tried forcing yourself to be upbeat and fun on camera. But you have a sense you’re not quite getting it. There’s something off – like a news anchor with a pasted on smile. In this episode I share with you a few of the exercises I use with clients to get clarity on when you’re in your element and how to start naturally showing up as yourself in your personal brand. Warmth, P.S. Next episode I’m talking about my dream of moving into a van… and why it will help you get clients. :~)
| 78 Devoted Fans by Being Unapologetically You with Elizabeth DiAlto | 10 Apr 2018 | 00:20:03 | |
My strength is often found in making everyone feel valued, managing the energy in a room, in being relatable and approachable. And it’s perfectly natural for me to play the role of the “nice” girl. As big-hearted coaches, we get scared of offending anyone or seeming like a jerk. Which is why I’m excited to share this week’s guest with you, Elizabeth DiAlto. She’s often blunt and bold and is an expert stance-taker. She’s also someone I keep coming back to for this conversation - a couple of times in person and on my Feed Your Hustle podcast a few years ago. Though her and I are opposites in many ways, we share the commitment to showing up real and genuine. In this ep, Elizabeth DiAlto and I dug into how she’s built a tremendous and faithful following around her raw, honest, grounded approach to self-help and spirituality. Like seriously - this woman has 84,000+ fb followers and when she posts to her biz page, she gets 50-100 likes and generates deep conversation. Listen to learn how showing up unapologetically as herself has helped Elizabeth grow an intense following of women who won’t settle for anyone else. Announcements:

Listen to learn how Jen attracted over 5900 purpose-driven entrepreneurs, leaders, creatives, healers, coaches, and network marketers from around the world… through her mission to “love humanity forward”. Did you ever see the Tony Robbins documentary “I’m Not Your Guru”? Well, it’s on Netflix, and I want Steve to watch it with me. But I made the mistake of jumping right into telling him that rather than FIRST figuring out why HE would want to watch it. So our convo went something like this ~ Me: Hey babe. Would you watch this with me? He’s a self-development guy, and I’d really like you to see this. Him: Mmmm no, I’ll pass. No thanks. Bummer! Because now, every time I bring it up, he’s got it in his head that it’s this woo-woo thing and he’d be doing it as a favor to me. When really, if I’d taken the time to first think about it from his perspective, it could have gone something like this: Me: Hey babe, you know how you love shark tank? Well, I found this really great movie that takes you on the inside of how this entrepreneur runs his business. I thought we could watch it tonight if you want. Him: Sounds cool, let’s do it. Example #1 is what happens to your marketing when you don’t get clear, compelling messaging in place first. #2 is the magical shift that can happen when you actually do. And it’s not manipulative. I know Steve would really like that documentary - he’d probably cry like I did. It’s finding the words to help them see why what you do is aligned with what they want. That’s what I’m talking about on the podcast today: 3 way-too-common marketing mistakes I see coaches make that cost them clients. Listen to make sure you’re not making any of them. Warmth, P.S. In the next couple episodes, I’m chatting with two of my favorite influencers - and biz buddies - in the life coach space about how they’ve set themselves apart in a crowded market so clients won’t settle for anyone else but them. Starting with an honest convo with Jen Mavros on the #1 thing she's done to set herself apart in a crowded coaching market and attract tens of thousands of dream clients & customers... from a place of love.

Last week, I had an impromptu phone chat (don’t you love those?) with my dear friend and past podcast guest, Kathleen Ventura, who also happens to be an incredible life coach. We celebrated that she had filled nine of the ten spots in her new group program in just three days. You know why she was able to do that so easily? High-touch relationships she’s built over the years - that’s her superpower. In fact, many of her clients often purchase high-level packages from her over and over again. Kathleen is a one-of-a-kind coach who has built what I like to call a Stand Out business. She was flattered, grateful, and relieved that she was able to enroll her program that way. And that’s what I want for you, too. How would it feel if your ideal clients wanted YOU and wouldn't settle for anyone else? (Total relief, right?!) In today’s episode, I’m giving you my 4-part formula for how to do just that so you can stand out in a crowded coaching market. Warmth, Adria P.S. | 74 The #1 Key to Getting Clients Through Speaking with Dr. Michelle Mazur | 06 Mar 2018 | 00:56:15
This is for you if you’re already speaking and want to make sure it leads back to you as a business owner so that you, ahem, get clients from it. But it’s also for you if you’re taking your business seriously and want to leverage one of THE best tools for getting clients. Public speaking. (I know that makes people cringe and that’s why I address it in my upcoming Get Clear, Get Clients on-demand program.) Why do I love speaking? It immediately positions you as the expert in the room, it introduces you to an entire room of people at once (versus networking which you have to have a bunch of convos), and being in person with people builds a much deeper faster connection and trust than online. That’s why, in this episode, we’re not just talking about speaking for the sake of being on stage but rather speaking to get clients. And not just to get clients but to build a movement. Because it all comes back to the mission behind your work. A lot of my clients have done speaking and one of the top questions I get is where do I find audiences to speak to. So that was what I planned to dig into with my guest, Dr. Michelle Mazur. But our conversation, as usual, had a mind of its own and that wasn’t as simple a question as I thought. Turns out the answer was much more up my alley! Announcements:

| 73 Why No One Wants to Pay For Your Coaching Package | 27 Feb 2018 | 00:23:39 | |
So you just got off a discovery call with a potential client - yet ANOTHER no. And you’re feeling low. You throw your hands in the air in exasperation. “Why doesn’t anyone ever want to pay for my coaching package?!” I’ve been there, and I hear you. You’re in the right place because I’ve helped lots of clients with this. I went deep into answering that exact question in this episode. And since I don’t like to leave ya hanging, I also talked about the shifts I give my own clients so that people actually DO want to pay for their coaching packages. This turned into one of my favorite episodes - possibly because it’s another one where Cher, my right-hand lady, interviewed me. Once again, you can listen to the episode or watch it via video. Warmth, Adria P.S. If you’ve been asking for my advice on attracting new clients using speaking, on next week’s episode, I dig into that topic with one of my new fave speaking coaches. And guess what the #1 key is for getting clients with speaking? Spoiler - niching down. Say what?? (Not gonna lie, kinda made me smile a bit when she said that.)
| 72 Is Your Niche Profitable? | 20 Feb 2018 | 00:38:03 | |
As I sat under the flashing lights of Chalene Johnson’s Marketing Impact Live listening to speaker after speaker talk openly about the trend towards Facebook and other social media platforms favoring conversation between real people rather than just throwing up something to get “likes”, I was reminded of my core belief: Marketing is pointless without genuine human-to-human connection. I see it over and over again in my clients’ businesses and in my own. Each person you connect with MATTERS. Now, that being said, I know that simply connecting isn’t guaranteed to help you get coaching clients. You need a more sustainable strategy, which is why I’ve been talking A LOT about niche (like seriously A LOT). That’s because coaches make it so much harder on themselves to get paid when they choose the “wrong” niche. If you’ve already got a niche, this episode will help you tweak it so people want to pay you. And if you’re a new coach, you're gonna need this when you choose a niche so you don't waste energy struggling to convince people to hire you. Listen in to know whether the niche you chose is going to make any money. (Oh, and there’s video too!) Announcements:
Warmth, Adria P.S. Next week I’m sharing why no one wants to pay for your coaching package. The fix is simpler than you think!

| 70 Feel Guilty Charging Money for Your Work? | 05 Dec 2017 | 00:20:33 | |
We’re winding up Salesvember on the podcast, and I hope you’re seeing some shifts in your discovery calls - ones that deepen your relationship with potential clients and empower them to say YES if it’s a fit. If you’ve listened to the last three episodes, you’ve got the bones for a great sales conversation. In today’s episode, I’m going deeper into something that I see make talented coaches and heart-centered business owners sabotage their own success all the time. Money Gremlins. You know, those voices inside your head that say things like: “You should feel guilty making money off of people who are hurting.” “Who are you to be paid really well doing something that you love?” “You’re greedy, pushy, salesy if you ask for the money you want.” These Money Gremlins can keep you from increasing your rates as you grow, can make you discount your work, can hold you back from even offering your services in the first place. So I decided to create this episode to share with you the shifts that have created the most transformation for my clients as well as my 3-steps to confidently ask for what you’re worth. Listen to learn how to bust through the fear of charging money for your work so you can raise your rates and finally charge what you’re worth. Announcements:
Warmth, P.S. Next episode you’ll hear my conversation with a past client on how she stepped into her value to offer higher-end packages.
| 195 Neurodiversity, ADHD & How “Differences” Connect with Sarah Hennessey | 22 Nov 2021 | 01:06:53 | |
Sarah Hennessey is a Sustainability & Wellness Coach supporting self-identified female misfits who are looking for a sustainable and alternative twist on living a truly healthy life. As someone who was too shy to speak in school growing up, Sarah spent most of her life definitely not seeing herself as a Messenger. When she started her business as an adult, she felt more comfortable as a virtual assistant behind the scenes of others’ businesses. Then she felt the pull to step out as a leader and share what she had to say. She had a background working with kids on the spectrum of autism and a degree in Psychology with a concentration in child development and disability. But the pressure of visibility made her feel the need to hide her own neurodiversity and other differences that she thought would stop clients from hiring her. The dichotomy of online marketing is the push to differentiate yourself while simultaneously holding a fear of being seen as different.Through joining a supportive group of other Quiet Messengers that didn’t judge her, she realized that what she had to say — and who she was — was of value to people. She didn’t see any wellness coaches with ADHD, so she made herself her own role model – which led to her first paid coaching client. She created a brilliant niche and discovered her ideal client on a much deeper level and so was finally able to clearly and compellingly connect the threads of her messaging and communicate what she had to say. Now she’s talking about so many things she had never talked about in public before – like this episode where she speaks publicly about her neurodiversity for the first time. She’s learned that taking a stand is not about being super aggressive; it can just be confidently saying something meaningful. Listen in. Sarah and I talk about:

| 69 Make Money Without Launching with Kathleen Ventura | 28 Nov 2017 | 00:52:25 | |
When Kathleen Ventura felt the heart-tug to pivot her niche, she had a moment of brand identity crisis. Her old niche: helping people start businesses. Her new one: helping more advanced entrepreneurs build conscious brands. For anyone else this might have been daunting - she had already built up a sizeable audience, Facebook group, and list around the old niche and target market. Would she have to start over building this new evolution of her brand? Where would her new clients come from? Having been through this when I pivoted from Feed Your Hustle to Unforgettable, boy do I GET it. But because Kathleen had built the previous incarnation of her business around real relationships, she didn’t have to build from scratch finding clients, nor did she have to rely on time-intensive launches. Listen to my interview with Kathleen to find out how you can make money in your business by the genuine connections you nurture rather than big, flashy launches. (Warning… you’ll probably fall in love with Kathleen like I did - she’s a super-fun, bubbly person who is all about living intentionally.) Announcements:

| 68 Fine-Tune THIS for More YESes During Discovery Calls | 14 Nov 2017 | 00:21:12 | |
My client, Holly Shaw, is a FABULOUS coach, and when she had the honor to speak in front of 120 actors at SAG in LA and ended up booking 46 discovery calls, she was stoked. But when only four of those 46 calls turned into paying clients, mostly one-off sessions, she began to suspect there must be a weak link in her discovery call process. We hopped on a call to diagnose where she was losing these clients, and discovered that when it came time to give people her prices and tell them about her package, her energy dropped and she felt kinda sale-shy and apologetic.Um, can you relate? So we did a Message Breakthrough dedicated to fine-tuning this specific piece of her discovery call process, and lo and behold... The very next day she landed a VIP client and sold a $1997 package with total ease using what we worked on. Listen to this week’s episode of Unforgettable to hear EXACTLY what we shifted and the language Holly used to “paint the picture” that led to these immediate results. Announcements:

| How to Structure a Discovery Call that Doesn’t Feel Salesy AND Converts | 07 Nov 2017 | 00:22:37 | |
You’ve been on the phone with a potential client for 30 minutes, and you’re both still chitchatting. When you finally get to how you can work together and name your price, she tells you it’s out of her budget and asks for a discount. Ultimately, she says she’ll think about it… except then you don’t hear from her again despite following up. If this is what your sales consultations feel like right now, this episode of Unforgettable is for you. What if this process could actually deepen your relationship with your potential client while at the same time empowering her or him to say “yes!” if it’s a fit? In this ep, I’ll share a 5-step framework for how you can go from wishy-washy to taking lead and never feel like a pushy robot as you turn calls into clients. Announcements:
