On the way they make many stops including a pawn shop in St. George, checking in on Christine's mother in Salt Lake City, visiting their old home in Lehi, and checking in on Maddie at college. But along the way emotions get the best of people.

It's the season 18 premiere! Kody is bitter as can be and traumatized by his battle with Covid-19. In this episode Logan tours UNLV and Southern Utah University before making a final decision about college. Either way he has made it clear that he is basically never coming back. After an emotional discussion about finances, Kody bullies the wives into putting down earnest money on the four lots to hold them for 30 days while they try to secure financing. After touring both campuses Logan announces that he is going to go to UNLV, but makes it clear that the family must treat him as a college student. Kody tells all of the kids that they "made an earnest money to make an offer on the homes" which of course no one understands. The teens all call him out and no one is excited.

Then we delve into Robyn's "story" about Dayton's ATV accident amid some newly discovered evidence.

In Episode 7 - Brown Boys Do Vegas - three of Kody's brothers come to Las Vegas for a visit. The boys' activites include going to a motorcycle bar, a gun range, and out to dinner. Meanwhile the wives go to Color Me Mine and later make sushi for dinner. The next day is Sunday Service at the Brown house where Kody and two of his brothers preach. The episode ends with a meeting with Mona who gives them hope that they can get financing for four homes in another cul de sac.

In Episode 8 - No Place Like Home - Logan, Hunter Leon and Maddie go to Utah for Spring Break. They stay with grandma Bonnie and visit family and old friends. The teens pull an April Fools prank on Leon. They visit their old house in Lehi. Back in Vegas, the adults have a My Sisterwife's Closet (this is actually how they spell it) meeting. They discuss Robyn's "designs" (which are awful) and meet with jeweler Brandon Adams.

We begin the podcast talking about the Season 18 trailer that just dropped and it's a doozy. In Episode 5, Fertility and Nesting, The Browns apply for separate mortgages as they dream of getting the family into four adjacent homes. Janelle is still determined to open the Fundamental Fitness gym but Kody dashes those dreams. Kody and Meri finally go to a fertility specialist to learn how IVF actually works. Meri is still undecided. In Episode 6, Four Wives, Four Valentines, we get to see how awkward Valentine's Day is for polygamists. The family has a Valentine's Day fondue dinner party and Kody gives each wife a bouquet of flowers that he really didn't pick out. Kody takes the younger girls to a daddy-daughter Valentine's dance at their school. Gwen smartly takes Logan as her date. The Browns also learn that they do not qualify for traditional financing and one of the homes being built on the cul de sac just sold. 

At the end of the episode we talk about Gwen's wedding to Beatriz.

In this episode Carrie is reunited with her former "mentor" and Vogue Editor Enid Frick and is offended that Enid considers her part of her age group. She reluctantly goes to an event Enid is hosting and is rewarded by getting to meet Gloria Steinem - which she didn't deserve. Che returns to New York and brings Lyle with them. The two of them attempt a threesome with Miranda which doesn't go well. Brady, Steve and Miranda go to therapy. Charlotte cures Harry of his dry orgasms and gets a job offer. LTW and Herbert's 20th Anniversary party is a bust after someone forgets to hit send on the Paperless Post.

In the Season 4 opener the Brown family is celebrating their first Christmas in Las Vegas. They have rented a 10 bedroom vacation home so that the whole family can celebrate together. They also decide that they want to build 4 houses next to each other in an empty cul-de-sac Mona found and they show the kids the property, never mind that they have not even filled out a mortgage application. The Christmas celebration includes cutting down their own tree, a Nativity play produced by Leon, shopping and gift giving. And we are reminded yet again that Christine and Kody's relationship is not good.

In this episode we catch up with Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and the rest of the ever growing cast. A lot is packed into these first two episodes. Life in LA with Che and Miranda is not quite what they expected. Charlotte's kids are breaking out of their molds. Carrie is having sex again but her inability to read an ad about vaginal wellness literally tanks her podcast. Seema may be the new Samantha. LTW is holding it all down beautifully, for now, and Nya finally realizes that Andre Rashad has got to go. At the end of the episode we talk about some insights into the writing of the show.

And Just Like That, the sequel to the beloved series Sex and the City on MAX (formerly HBO) is returning for its 2nd season on June 22, 2023. Before it starts we thought we would review the highlights of season 1 and discuss our feelings about that season and about what's to come in season 2. We are joined by Brooke's 20 year old daughter Layla to get some perspective from a younger generation, particularly about how the sequel treats issues realted to race and the LGBTQIA+ community. When Sex and the City premiered in 1998 it was a very different time. Even when it ended in 2004 it was still a very different time, almost 20 years ago. And Just Like That is trying to catch it up to present day, but how well are they doing? It's a lively discussion, join us!

In the season 3 finale the Brown family is blessed with their 17th child, Solomon. Baby Solomon was 2 weeks overdue so half of the episode is comprised of random scenes that looked like the producers were desperately filling time. The teens had multiple scenes where they continued to complain about Vegas, Robyn assembled a pack n' play by herself while talking to the camera and later goes to the chiropractor. The wives have lunch, Christine makes a gift for Robyn as a "peace offering" and Meri recounts her fertility struggles. It goes on and on. But finally, Robyn goes into labor and after some very cringy scenes Solomon is born, healthy and happy, and all is well. The whole family comes over in the middle of the night to see him and in the final scene Robyn offers to be a surrogate for Meri and Kody if they want another baby.

In this Apple TV documentary actor Michael J. Fox shares his life from childhood to the present day and the harsh realities of living with Parkinson's disease. Anyone of a certain age knows Fox first and foremost as Alex P. Keaton, the precocious young Republican teen on Family Ties in the 1980's. He then graduated to full movie star status as Marty McFly in Back to the Future. America fell in love with him. At 29 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which he kept a secret for 7 years. He then turned his focus to his family and raising money for Parkinson's research, raising over 2 billion dollars so far. Fox's ability to stay focused and positive with the love and support of his wife Tracey Pollan and his children is remarkable. This is an uplifting story in a time when such a thing is hard to find.

In Episode 10, Sister Wives on the Strip, the wives go on a girls night out on the Las Vegas strip, actually Fremont Street, while Kody pretends to take care of all of the kids. In reality Logan and Aspyn make sure all the kids are fed and put to bed, as per usual. The wives do wacky stuff like zipline across Fremont Street and stare at some scantily clad women. Meanwhile Kody is waiting at Robyn's house texting them asking when they are going to be home.

In Episode 11, Kody Climbs Into The Ring, it's Kody's turn to have a night out with the boys, who include Bill the trainer, polygamist Jeff Aldridge, and some other guy. They go to a friend's MMA studio so Kody can roll around on a mat with some dudes and then they go out to a very boring dinner where he guys ask him all of the usual questions about polygamy.  Then we are treated to the return of Theo from Colleen's Classic Consignment as Kody and Robyn go shopping for a chair and a dresser for Solomon's room.

Not only does the movie address the family's behaviors, including olderst son Josh Duggar's history of child sexual abuse, but it also dives into Bill Gothard and the cult-like practices of his church, The Institute in Basic Life Principle (IBLP). TLC sanitized the Duggar's dedication to the fringe teachings of Bill Gothard. Exploitation of children, both sexual and otherwise, is endemic in Gothard's organization and teachings.

In this episode we discuss the new MAX documentary Bama Rush, about the sorority recruitment process at the University of Alabama. In the fall of 2021 PNM (potential new members) were posting on TikTok about their OOTD (outfit of the day) and their experiences going through sorority rush at UA and it became a phenomenon. The documentary primarily focuses on the more problematic parts of the recruitment process by following four yong women going through the process. It also features the problematic history of the Greek system at UA. We also talk about our own experiences of going through rush and being in a sorority.
