| RM E27 Life is a Climb! | 21 May 2024 | 00:57:26 | |
Aaron Shamy, the 1999 X-games gold medalist in Speed Rock Climbing, loves to climb mountains. His love of climbing has taken him all over the world, including summiting the Matterhorn in Switzerland. Now a teacher at the Utah Valley Institute of Religion, Aaron joins Brian and Sean to talk about the mountains that returned missionaries and all disciples of Christ have to climb on their journey through life. Aaron relates the many resources that a rock climber has (carabiner, rope, harness, and belayer) to the resources we have in our own gospel climb. Rather than "free soloing" through life, our covenants bind us to the Savior and keep us safe on our journey. Aaron is an example of what can happen when we put our true identity as a child of God and disciple of Christ first while still enjoying the adventures of life!

| RM E25 Growing into the Principle of Revelation | 07 May 2024 | 00:48:34 | |
How can you grow into the principle of revelation and learn to be spiritually led at this critical time of your life? Listen in as Sean and Brian discuss a pattern outlined in President Russell M. Nelson's talk "Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives" (April 2018). "Follow the example of the Prophet Joseph: 1. Find a quiet place where you can regularly go. 2. Humble yourself before God. 3. Pour out your heart to your Heavenly Father. Turn to Him for answers and for comfort. 4. Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. 5. And then listen! 6. Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will “grow into the principle of revelation.” (April 2018) To subscribe to the podcast and to interact with the hosts, offer topic and guest suggestions, and provide feedback, please click on the following link and become part of the podcast. https://forms.office.com/r/r7516nkf1m | |||

| RM E33 Camouflage or Blaze Orange? | 02 Jul 2024 | 01:03:23 | |
As a full-time missionary, you learned to live the Savior's invitation to "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16) Steven Lund, General Young Men's President said, "Anything we do , to distract from or diminish or camouflage or hide that light frustrates the purposes of being born at this time." Since you've been home from your mission, have you ever been tempted to blend in with the crowd, go with the flow, or make your discipleship difficult to detect? In this episode, Brian joins Sean to draw upon his experience as a hunter and explore the spiritual dangers of living a life of camouflage compared to the joy and blessing of going "blaze orange" as a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
