Are you a brand or individual who's looking to improve and grow your podcast? You're in the right place. Together, we'll help you attain 'podmastery'. I'm Neal Veglio, a veteran podcaster who first started dabbling with RSS in the early 2000s. Podcasting is such a complex medium, with so many factors that can impact your success. It's my goal to cover all these topics with you, and help you maximise the results you're getting from your efforts. And while my shows now enjoy thousands of listeners every single week, it wasn't always easy. When I took a career break from radio for a few years in 2007, I had to learn how to build audience without the lift of an FM frequency. I learned a lot from that experience. I now help other podcasters to achieve their goals. Each episode, I'll be offering you some insights into what I've done and what I've helped my podcasting agency clients to do with all our podcasts in the hope we can help YOU increase your podcast's chances of becoming more successful! And ensuring you can avoid the dreaded 'podfade'! Take one step closer to Podmastery. Click follow in your favourite podcast app, and let's grow together.

How to keep podcasting - (even when you'd rather quit!)

Épisode 38

vendredi 7 mars 2025Durée 17:59

In this episode of "The Podmaster," I'm talking about a common struggle every podcaster faces at some point: the urge to quit when the going gets tough.

We all hit that wall where the stats don't move, and it feels like we're just speaking into the void.

This episode is a lifeline for those moments.

We start with a fundamental reality check of how mindset plays a crucial role in podcasting.

You'll learn practical tips for centering your mindset and cultivating a routine that fosters consistency and dedication to your audience.

I also share actionable advice on maintaining your creative spark.

The monotony of evolving content can make both you and your listeners lose interest. To keep things fresh, I have recommendations that involve exploring content outside of your niche.

My goal is to help you not only stay engaged with your podcast but also enjoy creating it again.

Women in video podcasting - is the competition fair?

Épisode 29

vendredi 10 janvier 2025Durée 09:49

The Gender Gap in Video Podcasting

Is video podcasting an uneven playing field for women?

As more and more creators incorporate video elements into their podcasts, the unique challenges faced by women can't be ignored.

From societal beauty standards to issues of confidence, we delve into whether the current environment is fair and what measures we can take to level the field.

If you're curious about how these dynamics impact content creation and what can be done to foster a more inclusive space, this episode is for you.

Our discussion covers several critical aspects.

You'll hear about the extra pressures women face when appearing on camera, such as the need to always look 'camera-ready', which involves dealing with hair, makeup, and lighting in ways that men often don't.

We'll also explore how these pressures can affect the quality of the content itself, steering focus away from substance and towards superficial elements.

Plus, we offer practical tips for women podcasters to navigate this challenging landscape.

Is Video Podcasting About To Kill The Audio Podcast Star?

Épisode 28

vendredi 3 janvier 2025Durée 07:34

Welcome to this episode of "The Podmaster" which delves into the continuing debate around the trend of 'video podcasts' and whether we need to take it more seriously in 2025.

The article that inspired this episode is this one from Vulture - https://www.vulture.com/article/will-video-kill-the-audio-star-in-2025

Hi, I'm Neal Veglio, The Podmaster, and I want to open this topic by acknowledging that I'm an OG in podcasting and massively fond of its origins as an audio format.

Audio podcasts have traditionally provided a unique intimacy and portability for listeners.

However, with the recent surge in popularity of video podcasts, spearheaded by influential figures like Joe Rogan, there’s a palpable shift in how creators engage with their audiences.

So I'm posing a critical question: Is the move towards video a genuine evolution in the medium, or merely a passing trend?

And talking of video podcasting, is Spotify trying to muscle in on YouTube's turf?

https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7280898845419429888

Suck this article down now because we'll be covering this off in a future episode of The Podmaster soon!

Best Apps for Recording Podcasts

Épisode 25

vendredi 20 septembre 2024Durée 05:57

Feeling frustrated with the poor audio quality of your podcast recordings on your phone?

I hear you.

I recently tuned into a podcast from a digital marketing company where they suggested just grabbing your phone and hitting record.

It bugged me because it's really not that straightforward if high-quality content is what you're after.
