With roses there always seems to be lots of "rules" you should follow. But it is necessary to follow all of them? In this episode we ask, and try to answer, that very question.

Raising Funds for Rose Rosette Research

There is a lot of information, and misinformation, about Rose Rosette Disease. I held a discussion with Dr David Byrne, Dr Kevin Ong and Dr Mark Windham to talk about RRD. We talked about it's history, what spreads it, what does it look like, tips to prevent it and what to do if you get it. We also answered questions provided to us by gardeners like you.

The research they do is generally funded by grants. This year, (2020) they did not get the grant so we have set up a Charity Go Fund Me Page to help fund their research. The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge in Chimney Rock, North Carolina has always been a special place. It was created, built and maintained by all volunteers. Over time it came to be part of the entire community.  Then in September of 2024 Hurricane Helene came through. This is that story.
