Its another bumper episode to kick off 2026 and the usual gang of Scott, Reece, Jamie and Phil are once again joined by Tom Chappell from #FourNilWrittenAllOver It.

Have you ever interrupted a piss to see a replay?  Find out who did in our review of the bonkers Charlton game.

Arsenal came to town and we gave them a game, for a while at least, the guys discuss our fun FA Cup run of one game and the ridiculous diving that went on.

We also discuss a recent U21 injury report which throws up some interesting questions about our recruitment strategy and how we are possibly failing our younger players.

Phil's quiz focuses on the successes and failures of previous Jan Transfer Windows over the last 25 years and we finish off guessing how many points Pompey will have by the end of February.  Enough to stay up or are we pretty much doomed?

Scott and the Play Up Podcast gang

Its a celebratory Podcast and the penultimate one of this season and what a season its been!

Scott is once again joined by Phil and Reece who discuss the vital games that secured Pompey's Championship status for another season.

Its a Final Day quiz as well this week, with Scott and Reece being tested on final day games and their efforts probably demonstrate that End of Season games, unless you win the League, are very forgettable.

We find out just whose house Atkinson was seen leaving in suspicious circumstances and why Westwood was denied entry to Luton.

On more a more serious note the Pompey Supporters Trust Survey is doing the rounds and we discuss at length the state of the club and whether Pompey can survive long term in the Championship and be sustainable.  Will Eisner splash the cash as Jamie suggests he should?

Recently clocking up over 1000 games watching Pompey, Neil has seen the massive highs of the Premiership and the FA Cup win and also the massive lows of Pompey dropping down the divisions and almost being liquidated.

He chats about Managers, Players and even a few rogue Owners which forced him to be a much a court room expert as he was a sports expert.

A Villa fan but he loves Pompey and you can tell by some of the stories he tells.

After a slightly extended break for Xmas and New Year we are back to cover all of Pompey's games over the notoriously tricky Xmas period and the team had mixed fortunes with some thumping wins and disappointing losses.

Each one of the PUP team cover a game each and we also cover the encouraging arrival of Rob Atkinson.

We predict Pompey's final league position with some surprising positivity and look forward to the 2nd half of Pompey's Championship season.

After a tough week for Pompey, the Play Up gang look back at the last 3 games and try and make sense of the state of the Club.

3rd Special Episode of the Play Up Podcast - recorded 19th September 24

Welcome to the 3rd of our special episodes where I interview Pompey Fans and people connected to the club both past and present.

Reece Hawkins went to his first game in 2004 and it turned out to be a drama filled game that got him hooked for life!

Sporting a big hat a la Westwood, he enjoyed Pompey's Premiership adventures and 4 Wembley trips as he grew up with a soft sport for Paddy Berger.  Many other games are remembered, especially one involving Limbs at St Marys.

We discuss his involvement with the Chi Supporters Club and the 4 Nil crew.  The way he speaks about his friends is very touching and it was a delight to listen to him.

The Play Up Podcast team discuss the first two fixtures of the season which have brought Pompey 2 points and a very decent start to life back in the Championship.

We try and unpick the madness that took hold of Kaminski with the Fratton End view giving us insight into the barney that caused it.  

We delve also into Roman history to work out when Pompey last beat 10 men plus we lick our lips with the signing of Abdulaye Kamara and maybe Robocop and see who else might join and leave Pompey before September.

We're Back!

Pompey are back in the Championship and its safe to say that the Play Up Podcast team are bricking it.

We discuss the current state of the squad, Bishops dodgy ticker and we bodyshame Usain Bolt as well as looking at those first 4 League games that Pompey will play in August.

No-one cares about the League Cup and Pompey rarely reach round 2 or even 3 so we didn't bother with that.

9th Episode of the Play Up Podcast - recorded May 23rd 2024

Despite technical hitches, illness and post-promotion hangovers we finally bring you the End of Season review of Pompeys most successful league season in 21 years.

Scott hosts and is ably assisted by fellow Pompey fans Jamie, Tim and newcomer Reece who definitely brings some gravitas and intelligence to the Pod.

We dissect the season and also discuss who excelled and who had the most impact on the season in various areas of the pitch, and off it.  We mourn the passing of Raggett and Rafferty but look forward to those who will improve the squad for our assault on the Championship in 3 months time.

Welcome to the 2nd of our special episodes where I interview Pompey Fans and people connected to the club both past and present.

Donald Vass has been supporting Pompey for over 20 years and got a season ticket at just the wrong time! Or right time depending on your point of view in 2009 when the wheels completely fell off the Pompey Bus and a few years of strife commenced.

Pervious to that his Dad took him from Worthing to Fratton a the age of 12 and he never looked back.

Eventually, despite "enjoying" our fall down the leagues and buying his share to save the club Donald joined the PST board through the Next Generations program and then rose to become the PST Chair.

Colin Farmery of the Pompey History Society remembers the 1970's seasons where it is fair to say Pompey struggled and eventually ended up in England's lowest professional League but just at the end of the Decade saw some success with Promotion from Division Four.

Sporting a dangerous rattle at the age of 7 Colin fell in love with Pompey through his Aunt and Uncle taking him. Tales of visits to the Dell, but only supporting the opposition, and an encyclopedic knowledge of Pompey's terrible seasons make this episode a brilliant record of Pompey's past.

Pompey kicked off the new season with a disappointing loss at home to QPR and we discuss it at length.

At least there were positives in the second half from the subs who came on, especially the 17 year old Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.

Pompey picked up 3 points on the road at the first attempt this season with a fine win against newly Promoted Lincoln City and with the help of "Young" Marlon Pack and Segecic's Hammer.

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen became Pompeys youngest ever goalscorer and unlike Count Binface, Abu Kamara has finally resolved a long-running right wing problem in PO4.

We look ahead, in trepidation, to the trip to Bristol City. What kind of Pompey will turn up this season? Hopefully one that tries at least. Also

Pompey havn't beaten Derby in a long time, so it's about time we did next Tuesday at Fratton Park.
