Having More Kids and Sitting on The Fence02 Feb 202400:35:23

In this episode, your host Mary discusses the topic of closing the chapter on the baby making years. She shares her personal experiences and emotions surrounding this transition. Mary also addresses the pressure and expectations that society places on individuals regarding the decision to have more children. She encourages listeners to be honest with themselves and to consider their own desires and feelings when making this decision. Ultimately, Mary emphasizes that it is okay to sit on the fence and take the time to figure out what is best for oneself and one's family.

Takeaways

  • Closing the chapter on the baby making years can be a complex and emotional process.
  • Feeling unsure or on the fence about having more children is valid and should be respected.
  • It is important to consider one's own desires and feelings when making the decision to have more children.
  • Society's pressure and expectations should not dictate one's decision regarding family size.

Connect and Communicate with Raising Little Talkers08 Sep 202300:53:52

The American Speech Language and Hearing Association reports that 13.5% of 18 to 23-month-olds have delayed language. The percentages increase a bit when a child turns 2 - and you'd be surprised by the limited access many families have in the US when it comes to getting help.

My guest Melissa is aiming to change that via her online platform, Raising Little Talkers. She is a licensed speech therapist with more than a decade of experience, and we're going to be explaining all things speech. I have personal experience on this topic with my daughter, and let me tell you - this episode is FULL of good advice.  I'm excited for you to listen!

Episode highlights:

  • The difference between speech and language, and what qualifies as a delay
  • Risk factors
  • How the pandemic affected (and continues to affect) our kids
  • Interesting insight on tongue function
  • Resources available if you suspect your child needs help
  • Some great tips and tricks to try at home

Just remember - any delay your little one might have, it's not your fault. Melissa does a great job, lifting you up and helping us all feel a little less helpless.

Melissa is the supportive expert behind Raising Little Talkers.  She's a mom of 3 - ages 6, 4, and 10 months. Her business started during the Covid pandemic, when the world shut down. She decided to take her services online and has been empowering parents ever since. She's helping kids nationwide gain access to speech therapy, with tips and strategies that parents can do at home. Get ready for goosebumps.

Psychic medium Jessica Lynne joins me on the podcast for a quick dive into the world of energies, spirits, connection, and oh yeah - a surprise visit from a special person that passed away when I was a baby.  And what is even more crazy is the fact that her predictions for what's to come actually is coming to fruition. That is something I will chat more about next week (stay tuned!)

Episode highlights:

-How does the process work?

-What should you expect from a reading?

-Why and how did she get into this field?

-Are ghosts real?

-What a loved one thinks of me as a grown-up

I was on the fence before, but Jessica really sold me. She pulls things out that no one knows about me! Definitely worth the listen.
