Armada episode 52 - Mortal Combat / Micron Legend episode 52 - Shitō

Something cool finally happened! We pour one out for Ninja World and reflect on the first arc of Daniel Warren Johnson's Transformers before taking a look at the final episode of Transformers Armada, which in many ways embodies the frustratingly almost-good nature of the show - but at least the fight between Optimus and Megatron is REALLY COOL, and our discussion ends on one of the most absurd twists we've had in the history of this show. Then, we look back over Armada's overall run, picking out the highlights (and lowlights) and discussing how we'd change things if we could do it all over. Fatality!

Armada episode 45 - Dash / Micron Legend episode 45 - Uragiri

After a couple of real disappointments, we get back in the swing of things with some classic Decepticon Bickering. Hot Shot just wants to talk, Wheeljack reveals the secret fourth Mini-Con weapon, and Tidal Wave don't know nothin' about nothin'. All this, and Jo absolutely blindsides Wads with one of the funniest plot details of all time that was dropped from the dub.

Dreamwave issues 6-13 - Fortress

We once again take a break from the cartoon to have a look at Simon Furman's debut on the Armada comic, which leans into his strengths — though they might not be what you think! Emergent themes, the full spectrum of Dreamwave art, and a villain that's ruthlessly committed to dialectics: we ended up enjoying this one more than we thought we would!

Armada episode 39 - Crisis / Micron Legend episode 39 - Kiki

Stop us if you've heard this one before - by which I mean "if you've watched The Transformers The Movie", because this entire episode is riffing on that. The kids still don't get to do anything, but at least they get to have opinions; Hot Shot is harsh, but not wrong; and Optimus Prime does that thing that Optimus Primes always do. This one's actually pretty affecting!
