| 3D Printed Watches: How Apiar's Matt Oosthuizen is Reshaping Independent Watchmaking | 25 Sep 2026 | 00:55:59 | |
Today's guest, Matt Oosthuizen, is one of the co-founders of Apiar, a UK-based watch brand that's the result of a passion not just for watches, but for experimenting with new technologies. Apiar, which debuted in 2023, is literally built different. Rather than following the traditional path, Apiar leans into additive manufacturing. With cases and dials printed using 3D technology, Apiar makes designs that couldn't be achieved through traditional methods, and as Oosthuizen notes, it's a constantly evolving process as Apiar grows and the technology itself develops. Beyond the innovation, Apier strives to use UK-based suppliers, resulting in watches quite unlike anything else out there. Before chatting to Oosthuizen, Andy and Felix chat about IWC's anniversary Ingenieur and Chopard's Happy Diamonds. Notes:

| Hodinkee Australia's Jamie Weiss on why a local edition matters | 14 Aug 2026 | 01:08:02 | |
Earlier this year, news dropped that Australia was getting its very own local version of Hodinkee, proving (among other things) the strength of the local watch scene. A few months on, the first issue of the Hodinkee Australia magazine has dropped, and it felt like the perfect time to chat to founding editor (and professional yapper), Jamie Weiss, about his journey in the watch world and how Hodinkee Australia is different to the OG masthead, along with plenty of inside baseball references. Supported by Raymond Weil: This week's episode is proudly supported by Raymond Weil. Andy checks out the Millesime Small Seconds in this episode; check it out for yourself. Notes:

| All the Highlights of Watches & Wonders 2026, feat. Cartier, Rolex and more | 23 Apr 2026 | 00:40:09 | |
From the shores of Lake Geneva, Andy and Felix give their thoughts on all the highlights of Watches & Wonders 2026. From A. Lange & Söhne to Zenith and everything in between, we chat about why space is cool, and what it feels like to bicep curl 8kg of ethical gold, as well as why the subdial placement on the Santos de Cartier Chronograph is so good. Of course, we also tackle our favourite models, and some we think missed the mark. Patek Philippe stood out, as did Cartier and IWC's out-of-this-world Venturer Vertical Drive. But we also talk about the behind-the-scenes things that make Watches & Wonders great, like the lack of AI slop and secret pizzerias. Show Notes

| Cartier 2026 Deep Dive: Roadster Revival, Crash Squelette & Off-Catalogue Secrets (Watches & Wonders) | 19 Apr 2026 | 00:29:52 | |
Recorded live and fresh from Geneva, we're taking a look at Cartier's new releases for 2026. After a decade in the archives, Cartier has officially resurrected the Roadster, and we have thoughts. In this episode, we're breaking down the entire Cartier 2026 lineup - from the Y2K nostalgia of the new Roadster Collection to the "liquid gold" engineering of the Santos-Dumont mesh bracelet. Is the new, streamlined Roadster profile a win for modern wearability, or do we miss the "chunkiness" of the 2002 original? We're also diving into the 10th Anniversary of Cartier Privé, exploring the mind-bending Crash Squelette, and discussing why the Tortue moving into the core collection is the sleeper hit of the year. Plus, we tackle the "quiet luxury" trend of Cartier's off-catalogue "Ghost Dial" releases and the brand's aggressive move toward precious metals. Grab a coffee - or a glass of champagne - it's time for the Cartier Deep Dive. Notes:

Andy chats to Zach about how the term 'microbrand' continues to be challenging to define, how much media has evolved over the years, and how Worn & Wound is staying true to its roots while adding more to its offering. Before that, Felix and Andy ask at what point a value proposition ceases to be a good value as prices continue to rise. Plus, watches in Happy Gilmore and more Jay-Z Franck drama. | Speaking to Franck Muller's CEO Nicholas Rudaz, in the new Sydney Boutique | 31 Jul 2025 | 00:43:26
This week - Franck Muller CEO Nicholas Rudaz. Andy and Felix recently hopped on a plane to check out Franck Muller's brand new Sydney boutique on Castlereagh Street, and found it just as full of curvy, colourful watches as you'd expect. While there, they sat down with CEO Nicholas Rudaz, who explained why Franck Muller has always been bold, just what those rabbits are doing and why he's sure brand founder Franck Muller had nothing to do with Jay-Z's customised Rolex perpetual calendar. This week's episode has been sponsored by Kennedy. Find out more about the new boutique and Franck Muller's watches here.

This week we've got something a bit different for you — a conversation with Parmigiani Fleurier, specifically Luca Castellani, Chief Commercial Officer and Theodore Panos, the brand's Managing Director for South East Asia and Australia. A little while ago, we hosted an event with the brand at Kennedy's Chadstone boutique, showcasing their latest (and greatest) watches, and Felix had a chat with Luca and Theodore to highlight what makes the brand special, including a remarkable amount of expertise for a younger brand, and a surprising royal connection. | IWC and F1, D1 Milano and a watch for Dungeons & Dragons | 03 Jul 2025 | 00:32:22
This week, Andy and Felix catch up on a busy few weeks as well as some watch-shaped deliveries that have made their way to the OT office. But first, Felix (literally and figuratively) puts on his film reviewer hat to talk about the F1 movie, and the many IWCs that can be spotted in it. Then, a brief chat about travel and Roger Dubuis, before we dive into the mailbag and come up with a beautiful bespoke strap from anOrdain, some good, honest fun from D1 Milano and the Timestop D-20, a dice-rolling watch made for the Dungeons & Dragons aficionados on the go. | Zach Piña on Adventure and Photography, plus the new Baume & Mercier Clifton | 19 Jun 2025 | 01:00:02
Unlike the vast majority of people working in the "watch media' today's guest, Zach Piña lives the daring life of adventure that you see in glossy watch advertisements. This is because Zach is one of the people responsible for creating these advertisements. We talk to Zach about diving under waves, racing classic cars in the desert and taking to the skies in pursuit of the perfect shot. We also chatted about his history in watches, why the Golden Eye pause menu was a core memory, and which industry figure would make a great Bond villain. Before that, we talk about why the Baume & Mercier Clifton is one of the best watches of 2025 and some stylish new updates to the integrated Riviera. This week's episode has been sponsored by Baume & Mercier, check out their 2025 collection here.

Continuing our exploration of IWC's 2025 collection this week, Felix chats to IWC Museum Curator David Seyffer, a walking encyclopaedia of IWC history, who gives us a lesson on some of the lesser-known Ingenieur models which provide a precedent for the new materials and complications added to the collection this year. He also offers some insight into how generational shifts lead to changing tastes among watch collectors and the brand's legacy of purpose-built instruments. | Our thoughts on the Rolex and Tudor 2025 releases, and more | 24 Apr 2025 | 00:34:01
In what we promise is our last formal 'Watches & Wonders 2025' episode, we cover some of the big players that needed some more chat, namely Rolex and Tudor — as well as a bit more love for Cartier's Tank à Guichets. Andy runs through his picks of Rolex (including his only gripe with the Land-Dweller), and Felix opts for a surprise favourite from Tudor. Oh, and a little bit of macroeconomic tariff chat. | Fred Savage on why he started Timepiece Grading Specialists | 17 Apr 2025 | 01:08:39
For many of us, Fred Savage was an important part of our formative years, thanks to his roles in The Wonder Years and The Princess Bride. He's also an established director and producer, but for watch enthusiasts, he's famous for another on-screen role — Hodinkee's Talking Watches, in which he appeared in 2018. We caught up with Savage to see what he's been up to since, and it turns out — quite a lot. We caught up with Savage to see what he's been up to since, and it turns out — quite a lot. He has started Timepiece Grading Specialists, a business that promises to empower collectors, sellers, and buyers to navigate the world of vintage and pre-owned watches with confidence. There's a handful of brands that people clamour to see as soon as the curtain is lifted on Watches & Wonders, and Cartier is most definitely one of those brands. We recorded this episode inside the Cartier booth on the first day of the fair after getting up close and personal with all the key releases. We talk about all the major releases, including the outstanding Cartier Privé Cartier Privé Tank à Guichets, the new, larger Tank LC, the dazzling new takes on the Cartier Panthère, as well as other jewellery pieces like the Tressage and the Panthère Bangle. | The One Where We Predict Watches & Wonders 2025 | 20 Mar 2025 | 00:33:17
Yes, we had to do it. Hopped up on rumour and speculation, Andy and Felix dive into the exciting world of baseless watch predictions and shamelessly speculate on what Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier and their pals are going to unveil in Geneva in just a few day's time. On top of that, we ponder the meta trends that we're going to see emerge in the industry, including "less value for the same money" and "more restraint with flashes of insanity".

Everyone's favourite Chicago-based watch newsletter publisher is back for his second (or third?) chat with OT:, and as is now customary, we've caught at something of an interstitial moment. Traina left Hodinkee late last year and has dived head first into his newsletter, Unpolished (née Rescapement). We talk to Tony about the premise and pitch of his newsletter and (inevitably) the state of watch media in 2025. We also talk about industry pet peeves, press trip weirdness and why glazing billionaires is never a good idea.

| Kenneth Lam, founder of Arken Watch Company | 13 Feb 2025 | 00:53:36 | |
Arken Watch Company was born (like so many creative projects), in the middle of a lockdown. Kenneth Lam, always interested in modding Seiko's and the like, decided to design his own watch. The result was the Arken Instrumentum, a limited release followed a few years later by the clever travel timer that is the Alterum. Arken aims to create genre-free titanium tool watches with unique and practical functions — and it's safe to say the young brand is delivering on that mission. We talked to Ken about the future of the brand, how to engage with the community and preferred emoji use.

| Zoë Abelson, founder of Graal Watch on the watch market and finding grails for other people | 30 Jan 2025 | 00:28:03 | |
This week, we've got the final file from Felix's Hong Kong adventure, and we've undoubtedly saved the best til last. Zoë Abelson, better known on Instagram as @watchgirloffduty has built a life and a career hunting down rare timepieces. These days that business has coalesced into Graal Watch, which makes her the perfect person to find that obscure reference. We chat with Zoë about the pros and cons of hunting other people's grails and explore the ambiguities implicit in the watch dealers' role as tastemakers, as well as what those tastes are looking like today: pro tip — smaller watches are where it's at. Before all that, Andy and Felix tackle the thorny issue of giving Andy's dad a watch. Let us know in the comments what you think that watch was.

Today's guest is Fiona Krüger, a fine artist and watch designer who's independent in the truest sense of the word. Perhaps best known for her timepieces shaped like skulls and defined by fractures and imperfection, Krüger is a watchmaker who finds her own path. Felix caught up with Krüger in Hong Kong as part of Horology Forum 10, where they chatted about design integrity, the tricky nature of luxury and why it isn't always the best idea to have a business plan when starting out. They also chat about the Face of Tasaki, a watch Fiona Krüger has made with a Japanese pearl manufacturer and one of the coolest releases of the last year. Bremont CEO Davide Cerrato has been in the role for a little over a year at this point, and it's safe to say that 2024 has been a rollercoaster. The brand, rooted in British identity and aviation, unveiled a brand new collection, logo and strategy at its Watches & Wonders debut and has, in the months since, been experiencing the ups and downs of public opinion. From the sheer number of watchmaking students attending Chinese schools and the depth of artisanal crafts in the country, Tallendier hopes that within a generation, Chinese watchmaking will be far more respected and recognised.
