Welcome aboard the Orriona—where the galaxy is queer-norm, found families are forged in the fire, and hope burns brightest in the darkest corners of the void.
ORRIONA is a multi-voice audio drama series that weaves cinematic sci-fi action with deeply personal character journeys. No coming-out angst. No homophobia. Just grand space adventures where queer love and friendship are as natural as starlight.
THE STORY SO FAR:
When High Priestess Nienna's ceremonial fleet is ambushed by an ancient enemy, her last surviving Warden witnesses a desperate sacrifice that rewrites the timeline itself. Meanwhile, the sentient starship Orriona—after centuries of exile—receives her old friend's distress call and races to mount a rescue.
But she can't do it alone.
Her search for a crew leads to Edgepoint Station, a decaying frontier outpost where misfits become family: a disgraced pilot searching for his father's ghost ship, a con artist with dangerous skills and buried secrets, a theatrical medic duo fleeing their past, an engineer haunted by what she's lost, and the last Warden of a murdered High Priestess.
Together, they'll chase stolen artifacts across the galaxy, uncover conspiracies that threaten the foundations of civilization, and discover that the strongest shields aren't made of technology—they're built from trust, loyalty, and love.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Ensemble cast with rich character dynamics
Found family at the heart of every story
Ancient mysteries and impossible stakes
Slow-burn romance woven through the action
Cinematic sound design and original score
Episodes released weekly
CONTENT NOTES: Space-battle peril, occasional violence, grief, telepathy/mental pressure. No homophobia or queerphobia of any kind.

S01E24 · Manifest of Souls · Part One (Val)
Val runs her gloved hand along the corridor wall, searching for the pulse that should be there. Axrathan bio-metal is supposed to respond to touch, shifting in warmth and texture as if the ship itself knows she's there.
Beneath her fingers, there is nothing. Cold, inert alloy.
A living thing that has been murdered.
Gravity stutters from one section to the next. Patches of life support hum on with no logic to them. Jotter drifts at her side, his ancient scanners working overtime, and the readouts confirm what her gut already knows. This isn't ordinary battle damage. It's something that shouldn't be possible.
Six Search and Rescue drones sweep deeper into the derelict, mapping a vessel that was built to outlast almost anything. Back aboard the Orriona, the crew waits on every update. Val watches the feeds come in, and the longer she looks, the more the ship feels like a place no outsider was ever meant to see.
Her engineer's eye starts catching details that don't fit. Small things. Things that make her skin crawl.
Someone did this on purpose. And they came prepared.

The Orriona drops out of FTL, and space reassembles itself around Kai in streams of starlight. His stomach lurches. He's never gotten used to the moment faster-than-light lets go.
What waits on the other side is nothing the briefings could have prepared them for. A fleet that once sailed in ceremonial formation now hangs motionless in the dark, hundreds of vessels strong and utterly silent. Kellan threads the ship deeper. Orriona runs her sensor sweep.
Kai has no ties to the Axrathans, no loyalty to their ways. But he knows loss when he sees it.
Beyond the wreckage, an asteroid field drifts at the edge of the graveyard, dark shapes that stir something he buried a long time ago. He was a kid who could read a face, pick a mark out of a crowd, and steal a meal without getting caught. He couldn't read the sky.
Someone else could.
Some warnings follow you across the stars. And as the Orriona edges toward the heart of the fleet, Kai can't shake the feeling that the worst of it is still waiting.

Audio drama adaptation of Legacy with cinematic sound design
A queer-norm galaxy (no homophobia, no coming-out angst—just space adventures)

Val crouches beside a row of EVA suits in the Orriona's prep bay, her fingers trailing over equipment worth more than she'd earned in five years on Edgepoint. No patch jobs. No scavenged parts. Everything pristine, everything purposeful.
She runs the checks anyway, old habits refusing to loosen their grip. Helmet seals. Oxygen flow. Thruster packs. Her mind cycles through mission variables—ruptured hulls, unstable debris fields, hidden defense systems that might still have enough charge to end them all.
This isn't a salvage run.
It isn't patching a cargo skiff for one more cycle. Whatever's waiting inside that derelict, it's bigger than anything she's touched in thirty years of frontier work.
But so is the payout.
The monthly stipend alone could fund a proper repair shop. The completion bonus was the kind of money that rewrote a life—the kind she'd stopped letting herself dream about somewhere around year twenty on Edgepoint.
Jotter's familiar chirp breaks her focus, his holo-projector casting a soft glow across the prep bay. Val runs a hand through her hair, already calculating.
Whatever they find over there, she's not walking away from this contract.
Not for anything less than everything she's owed.

Audio drama adaptation of Legacy with cinematic sound design

The scent of coffee winds through the bridge—Kellan's sixth cup, maybe seventh. He's stopped counting. The ritual has become as essential as any system check, that pause before action that centers him before a mission.
The Orriona's FTL drive bends reality around them, the star field transformed into rolling veils of purple-green energy. Kai occupies the gunner's station, posture deceptively relaxed. Kellan studies him through the viewport's reflection, thinking about the personnel files Orriona provided.
Everyone else's file held the usual details—homeworld, family, education. Kai's was conspicuously thin. Parents unnamed. Origins vague. Just Edgepoint Station listed under recent residence.
During their shared meal, Kai had told stories of the station's underbelly with an easy smile. But Kellan knows how to read between the lines. Those years had cost him something.
Kellan grew up with family—difficult at times, but present. Kai's history suggests long stretches of survival alone, the kind that teaches a person to rely on no one but himself.
Which raises the question Kellan can't shake as they close in on the derelict: in the biggest mission of their lives, walking into a ghost ship that used to be a warship, is Kai someone he can count on—or someone who'll bolt the second things go sideways?
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Audio drama adaptation of Legacy with cinematic sound design
A queer-norm galaxy (no homophobia, no coming-out angst—just space adventures)
A pilot sizing up his newest crewmate
Trust tested before the mission even starts
Grand, hopeful adventure with a massive heart

Orriona is a cinematic audiobook podcast — a scripted queer sci-fi space opera with full cast, sound design, and original score.
The Axrathan freighter is dying.
Meyn Arkturus moves through its corridors alone — footsteps silent, armor compensating for failing life support, emergency lights pulsing red through passages he once knew by heart. What was once a living ship full of scholars and Wardens and acolytes is now twisted metal, scorch marks, and the cooling remains of the dead.
He is going to the vault. He has to reach the vault.
What he finds there are scavengers — loud, drunk, careless. Laughing in a place that should hold only silence.
What they find is something else entirely.
Between Meyn and escape stands everything: a dying ship counting down its last hours, men who came to take what wasn't theirs, an impostor who reveals himself at the worst possible moment, and an ancient enemy that has no business being alive — let alone here, let alone hunting him.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
A scripted sci-fi podcast with cinematic sound design, original music, and full voice cast
A queer sci-fi audiobook series where queerness is the norm — no homophobia, no coming-out angst, just space adventures
CONTENT NOTES: Violence — combat sequences, character death

S01E18 · The Wrong Card (Kai)This episode is the cinematic audiobook version of ORRIONA UNIVERSE | BOOK ONE | LEGACY | CHAPTER THIRTEEN
Orriona is a cinematic audiobook podcast — a scripted queer sci-fi space opera with full cast, sound design, and original score.
Brunch is over. The warmth of the dining hall lingers—but the galaxy doesn't wait.
Kai Kyros settles into the most sophisticated gaming rig he's ever touched. He bypasses the neural link without hesitation. Some surrenders aren't worth making.
What follows looks like casual browsing — tournament standings, player forums, messages to old companions. It reads as ordinary. It isn't. Somewhere in the Holo Gate Network, beneath layers of white noise and mundane data, Kai is searching for someone. Someone who disappeared when the Belloros went up. Someone he couldn't bring himself to stop.
He leaves a message in a place only one person would know to look.
Then the briefing begins.
Orriona's golden form materializes at the head of the table. What she reveals — fragmentary footage, twisted hulls drifting in silence, escape pods spinning into the dark — stops the room cold. A single name lands in the air like a detonation. And Kai watches the found family he's only just beginning to trust absorb it: Rian's color draining, Val's hand flying to her mouth, Kellan's grip threatening to crack the frame of an empty chair. Even Nix — Nix, who always has a line ready — goes utterly still.
Roles are assigned. A plan takes shape. And afterward, alone in the corridor, Kai trails his fingers along the cool metal wall and asks himself the question he can no longer outrun.
What use is the wrong card?

S01E17 · Brunch & Bonding (Rian)This episode is the cinematic audiobook version of ORRIONA UNIVERSE | BOOK ONE | LEGACY | CHAPTER TWELVE
Seven hours until they reach what remains of the Axrathan diplomatic fleet.Dr. Rian Jengu fills the kitchen with the quiet rhythm of preparation—omelets, griddle cakes, fresh coffee. The scent of actual food, not protein packs or recycled rations, draws the crew to the dining hall one by one.
Kellan claims strategic position near the griddle cakes. Nix follows with theatrical commentary. Val arrives in a clean tunic that speaks of confidence finally freed from station grime. Jotter settles beside her, tracking everything with careful assessment. And Kai—transformed in fitted IMZ clothing, still carrying that edge of observation but inhabiting space differently.
They've read Orriona's compiled reports on each other. They know the basics—skills, backgrounds, where they're from. But Kellan suggests they go beyond the files. Share something hidden. Something real.
Laughter fills the space. Stories emerge.
The warmth of shared amusement transforms the dining hall from a mere room into something closer to home. A briefing awaits in less than three hours. But for now, strangers who survived impossible odds together are learning what it means to be crew.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Audio drama adaptation of Legacy with cinematic sound design
A queer-norm galaxy (no homophobia, no coming-out angst—just space adventures)
Found family forming over breakfast
Stories that reveal who they really are

S01E16 · Who We Were, Who We Are · Part 2 (Kai)This episode is the cinematic audiobook version of ORRIONA UNIVERSE | BOOK ONE | LEGACY | CHAPTER ELEVEN - PART TWO
Kai stares at the smooth ceiling, counting heartbeats against the Orriona's engines. Sleep came in fragments. Each time he closes his eyes, the explosion replays—the Belloros vaporized in a clean, cold analysis from his tactical display.
Twenty-four hours ago, he was running card games on Level 9.
Now luxury surrounds him. A contract promising credits. Academy patronage. A future.
Eight years ago, that would have set his heart racing.
Now it feels like contamination. The kind of feeling meant for alleys and abandoned corridors, where sharp edges fit the frontier's landscape. Here, surrounded by abundance, it feels wrong.
He would deal with it later. On the driftline. Where he always dealt with everything.
But the Orriona's showers aren't the thirty-second sonic rations of Edgepoint. Hot water cascades over his shoulders—a luxury bordering on reverence. And in that private moment, something breaks.
The Belloros explosion. The targeting solution. The choices made in fractions of a second.
His chest heaves. The pressure building until each breath requires conscious effort. The compartmentalization he's maintained for years cracks open, and he can't hold it back.
After the water stops, voices drift from the galley. Kellan's laugh. People being people.
He's spent years learning when to walk away. The question waiting is whether he's learned how to stay.

Val wakes slowly, her body registering pain before her mind fully surfaces. Deep bruises from the hangar firefight throb across her shoulders and back—ducking behind crates, disarming a gravity mine under fire, bolting up the Orriona's ramp with plasma bolts sizzling past her head.
She's alive. The bruises are proof.
But now she's awake in Quarters One aboard a sentient starship. A private bathroom with an actually functioning shower. A workbench equipped with tools she's only seen in technical journals. Clothes without burn marks or worn edges.
It feels like someone else's life.
For fifty years, Val has survived on the frontier with Jotter at her side—her constant companion, the keeper of her family's legacy. Fifty years of taking the hardest jobs, the most desperate contracts, always choosing the path that led further from anything that looked like home.
She left behind expectations she couldn't meet. A mother who wanted her to design starships, not fix broken ones. A family legacy of advanced engineering theory when all she wanted was to work with her hands.
Now she stands in quarters that belong on an IMZ luxury cruiser, looking at a reflection she barely recognizes.
The engineer who improvises repairs with salvaged parts. The woman who's spent decades keeping broken things running against impossible odds. Someone who learned long ago that comfort like this isn't meant for people like her.
But the Orriona chose her. Gave her a workbench that's never known desperate fixes. Gave her tools without the scars of a thousand emergency repairs.
In eight hours, they reach the Axrathan derelict. A mission that will require everything she knows about bio-mechanical systems and ancient technology.
