To boost his fledgling career, Doctor Slow-mo, a neophyte superhero, attempts to go to his first professional superhero conference. When lousy weather forces his plane to redirect to a different airport, circumstances press him into action.

Ada awakens on a deserted space station. As She explores the cramped compartments, it becomes evident something significant has happened and she has been intentionally marooned on the derelict station.

Alexandra, a skilled con artist, finds herself on a spaceliner en route to Mars, disguised as a lowly steward named Anita. Struggling to keep a low profile, Alexandra faces unexpected challenges, including the presence of her nemesis, Nickolay, a wealthy investor she once scammed. Things take a gripping turn when Alexandra discovers Nickolay trapped in an airlock. Despite her initial impulse to walk away and let him die, she ultimately chooses to intervene. However, her decision inadvertently leaves both her and Nickolay to face the consequences of their past actions.

Ellie, a student, rents the only room she can afford near her university. But the place turns out to have a colony of flies and a slightly pungent smell. She finds the flies’ behaviour odd and very distracting. Frustrated by her landlord’s refusal to help, she complains to the city. Too late, Ellie discovers the flies are intelligent and had come to a unique agreement with the previous tenant.

The Sputnik II had no re-entry capacity, so this was a one-way trip. In this alternate version of the story, Laika is a passing celestial being accidentally trapped by the earth’s gravity and dragged reluctantly to its surface in the middle of a Moscow winter.
Stranded, in the body of a dog, the alien being is forced to intervene in the early Soviet space program to get a ride home.

Camila, a wannabe actor desperate to pursue a career on the stage, indentures herself to a theatre company which entertains tourists in low earth orbit. She plays a modern version of the famous 18th-century pirate Anne Bonny and what passes for their act is mostly an excuse to squeeze their captive audiences for tips. But during a performance for a wealthy eight-year-old she begins to realize they may not be acting, and as with the pirates of old, behind their backs one of her crewmates is willing to sell them down the river for a larger percentage of the take.

While investigating a complaint about an oversized house, which mysteriously appeared in his neighbourhood, Ken meets the eccentric and angry owner who rather than conforming to city building codes tries to bribe Ken by granting him four wishes. At first, Ken dismisses the peculiar home owner’s suggestion as nonsense but soon learns, when a careless wish threatens to consume Leaf’s backyard greenhouse and the entire neighbourhood, that the homeowner is more than what he seems. To save Leaf’s heirloom tomatoes Ken is forced to make a carefully worded wish, but the results are not exactly as in intended.

In the gritty urban sprawl of Cascadia, a fugitive android, fleeing its creators, seeks refuge among the people living on the city streets. Forced to adopt a guise mirroring one of them, a twist of fate entangles it in a perilous quest. On the threat of being turned in to authorities it is tasked with liberating a woman abducted by corporate security for scavenging in the company's recycling sector.

Ivan Petrenko’s entire life has revolved around his quest to seek official recognition of his family’s apparent abduction by extraterrestrials while on a camping trip in Ontario in the late 1950’s. Responding to an online post, Marie, the daughter of a researcher who worked on a top-secret cold war era project called MK Ultra, contacts and arranges to meet with Ivan. What Marie reveals contradicts what Ivan has believed since he was eight years old but confirms that something nefarious did happen to his family.
