• Note:  Jeff made a comment about getting divorced and remarrying as being unbiblical. We wanted to make sure we’re clear that getting divorced and remarried is not unbiblical for everyone, but Jesus does address distinctions in Matthew 19:7-9, Luke 16:18. The problem that has arisen is that we take hard stances (Biblically) to issues like homosexuality (as we should) and neglect other passages that call Christians into conviction because they have been accommodated by the culture. 
• Note: Jeff also talked about Malcom Gladwell’s book “Outliers” and said that the community came from Ireland, when in fact it was Italy.

We had the best conversation with our friend Aaron McKee who is the Executive Pastor of The Refinery about how to leave well, but also how to  be a great church staff.  

There seems to be a bit of confusion around coaching/counseling/mentorship...that is why we invited Eric on the podcast.  As an  Executive Coach he has learned his lane and how it can help those he gets to lead.  

Care is one of these words that gets thrown around,  but do we really know what it is?  On this episode our great friend Renee Worcester helps us unpack this term and it's implications.  We talked a lot about the church, but also marriage which is a topic that she is really passionate about.  

What is Unity?  That's a great question...I was asking the same thing when I started PHOENIX/ONE.  Dr. John Armstrong has been a mentor to me personally and others trying to obediently follow Jesus' High Priestly prayer in John 17:23.  In this episode we will talk through church history, ecumenism, unity and the highs and lows of the local church.

The term "Burn Out" is prolific right now.  It seems weekly that we get into conversation with someone about it.  But what is "Burn Out?"  Well...that's why we invited our very special guest Dr. Don Worcester to help us work it out.

In this episode I was joined by 2 people I dearly love, Mike Bhatti and Criselda Sweet, the first staff of PHOENIX/ONE.  We talked about how they got involved, the early years in the office, the Gatherings, and how we dealt with my sons cancer diagnosis in the midst of running the organization.

This was a life giving episode that also reminded us of how fortunate we were to be apart of something that God built.
