| U40: How far back did the issues start for the OU football offense? | 21 oct. 2026 | 01:25:40 | |
Wanna hear about how bad the OU offense is some more? No? Too bad! The availability report comes out tonight and according to George, it will be another dense one. At what point was this offense doomed to fail? Is it an issue going back 5 years? Shoutout Dillon Gabriel, you protected the football. What are the odds a quarterback change happens in one of the next two games? Who knows! Oh and don't forget, the defense is elite! Josh does have some good news for the recruiting folks out there, not all hope is lost. Also, Carey has some weird text-to-speech program, Eddie isn't happy about it. All that and more on this edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

| U40: Is a National Championship back on the table for OU football? | 14 oct. 2026 | 01:21:32 | |
Fun time is over, the Red River Rivalry win is in the past(we are still talking about it). Was the win enough to change our minds on the Sooners' season? Eddie is all on board, the others....not there just yet. Brent Venables says Michael Fasusi is almost ready, can his return help an offensive line that looked better at times against Texas? Kentucky's defense hasn't been great, but neither has OU's offense. Which bad unit can seize the opportunity on Saturday? What about two good units in Oklahoma's defense and Kentucky's offense. It's also a monster college football slate this weekend, what can we find out about the SEC? Finally, do the Sooners need to keep an eye on Seneca Driver? Josh has your answers. All that and more on this edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

| U40: How in the world can OU football pull this off? | 07 oct. 2026 | 01:20:18 | |
It's a beautiful weekend of college football ahead. Huge games all over the country, but none are bigger than the one that kicks off in the Cotton Bowl at 2:30 Saturday. When is the last timer the Sooners won this game as an underdog? Are they capable of doing so? Brent Venables was not happy with his offensive line group and we can only imagine the conversations that go on inside that building when the film is on. What's realistic and unrealistic for this team? For Carey's sake, give Elijah Thomas the ball! The first availability report comes out Wednesday night, who knows what that will look like. Are mind games in-store? Despite the early season disappointment, Sooner fans will show out, and although they will stick with the Sooners no matter what happens, what about the 2027 recruiting class? All that and more on this edition of the Unofficial 40.

| U40: John Mateer is your starter for Texas, is this his final chance to shine? | 01 oct. 2026 | 01:23:30 | |
The bye week is here! A much needed reset for everyone after the Sooners 41-13 loss against Georgia. Brent Venables spoke with the media last night, and he is not giving up on John Mateer as the QB1 just yet. Also, he did keep George safe from the lightning. Will John Mateer make it through 4 quarters against Texas? How much is the offensive line to blame for all the issues? Josh's weekends plans were put to a halt due to a presidential matter. Eddie is not having a good day and the Cubs are to blame. We hope you enjoy this rare Thursday edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

| U40: Did we just fix Oklahoma football? | 23 sept. 2026 | 01:20:16 | |
For the first time since the 2018 Rose Bowl, Oklahoma takes on the Georgia Bulldogs. Can the Sooners shock the world? Maybe. Probably not though. The news of David Stone's injury shook the fanbase on Monday night, but maybe it isn't as bad as initially thought? Should Oklahoma fire everyone? The answer varies every 10 seconds so, who knows. Ask Eddie. Finally, we deliver the solution everyone has been waiting for. How does this team get fixed? Starts with believing, and most likely ends with wanting to cry. All that and more on this edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

| U40: Will Ben Arbuckle be able to make the changes necessary on offense? | 16 sept. 2026 | 01:29:17 | |
It's that time of the week again! The OU Board of Regents approved Brent Venables contract extension on Tuesday, no they were never going to push it back. How bad does Oklahoma need to beat New Mexico? Honestly, will anyone be truly happy if it isn't by 50? Trell Harris is set to miss some time with an injury, is it time for someone else in that room to step up? Was the offensive line really that bad? Even if they weren't, are they good enough to support a shift to the run game? Plus, some recruiting talk as Josh breaks down Connor Arant's commitment. Hold on...Josh had how many tickets in one day??? All that and more on this edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

| U40: Oklahoma isn't the only team Michigan is trying to take down | 09 sept. 2026 | 01:31:54 | |
Well...it is Michigan week for Sooner fans. College football has a problem with the Wolverines, and well....SoonerScoop (specifically Eddie) has a Michigan problem of its own. I could tell you about it now, but it doesn't take long into this episode to find out what is happening. Anyway, Oklahoma is facing a huge road trip up to Ann Arbor, what is the injury situation, how is Cole Sullivan preparing to face his old team, and what are some of the keys for this OU offense to perform well. Isaiah Sategna is probably the answer to that last part. The guys break down what Jim Nagy had to say to the media regarding the last additions to the roster. What teams impressed the most in week 1? Plus, a quick recruiting update from Josh. All that and more on this edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast

| U40: We are so back and so are the Sooners | 01 sept. 2026 | 01:31:26 | |
Wait...Oklahoma players football this week? That's right, the first Unofficial 40 of the 2026 football season has arrived! Aren't you excited? Good! Unfortunately for you though, we start off on the injury front with some updates on a couple key starters on the offensive side of the ball. Josh is back from a recruiting trip for the ages where he saw a couple five-stars do their thing over in Kentucky. Jumping back to the world of college football, what is the latest on Danny Saili? Honestly, Eddie might be eligible to play at this point. Lloyd Avant might be an even bigger star than expected, at least that's what George says. On the defense, Reggie Powers might be a name offensive coordinators hear in their nightmares. Finally, we cap things off with a little Home Alone talk(yes, the Christmas movie) and much more on this edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

| U40: College football, oh how close you are | 26 août 2026 | 01:37:48 | |
On this edition of the Unofficial 40...we just want college football back. Good thing is, we are just one weekend away. Let's get deep...two-deep...as in what will the two-deep look like. We also got to speak with Elijah Thomas, could this be the year the Sooners have two 1000 yard receivers? Plenty of news coming out of the world of NFL players coming back to college, pointing at LSU. By the way, did the FBI really check the LSU facilities? No idea but it would be cool if they did. We talk some recruiting, specifically how Cooper Witten is a monster among high schoolers. Brent Venables contract extension caused a stir, but what contract extension doesn't these days. And for you huge football sickos out there, Eddie may be the offensive lineman you are looking...all that and more on this edition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

| U40: Is the decision on Maikkula's backup tearing apart the Scoop staff? | 19 août 2026 | 01:36:36 | |
Another day over 100 degrees, but nothing stops the Unofficial 40. We are one week closer to kickoff, and at this point, any college football will do the trick. The guys hit the studio with plenty to discuss, and possibly an egregiously long discussion over who will be the Sooners' center with Jake Maikkula's timeframe uncertain. Josh and Parker have been hitting the recruiting trail hard while George plays with his new favorite football toy, and to be fair we are all a little jealous. Oklahoma's win total saw a slight bump and maybe the hype around the receiver room has something to do with it? Probably not. There is plenty to watch out for before camp closes, speaking of watch, Carey has turned George into a watch guy now...Eddie couldn't care less. Fill in the desire for football with SoonerScoop on this addition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast.

The first Unofficial 40 since the Sooners threw the pads on and thank goodness we don't have to record this outside. The guys go over the recent intel from fall camp, including some offensive line talk and of course, George wants to talk about injuries. What kind of numbers does John Mateer need to put up to make Eddie happy? Plus what the new addition on the defensive line means for the Sooners as the season approaches fast. Finally, a tear or two is shed as Russell Westbrook announces his retirement...yes this is an OU podcast.

| U40: The guys break down all the talk from OU football media day | 05 août 2026 | 01:18:49 | |
We are one day removed from OU fall media day and there is still plenty to cover from the festivities. The Sooners hit the practice field today while we wait for our first glimpse Friday morning. The SoonerScoop crew goes over all things media day in this addition of the Unofficial 40 Podcast. Eddie is still starstruck by Jason Witten, Carey fears the stories from the past that Kevin Wilson might share, Josh's big head can't contain his excitement for the season and George goes back to his vast experience with the law as he still has no idea if the class of 2022 can actually come back. Football season is back, and the Unofficial 40 never left.

| U40: Getting you ready for the start of football madness next week | 29 juil. 2026 | 01:19:05 | |
Tomorrow is the annual Fostering Futures Coaches luncheon which has kind of become the official kickoff of preseason football in Norman. And next week when we're recording the U40 we will be doing it just 1 day after OU's official media day where we will talk to Brent Venables, assistant coaches and many players. It's going to be a very fun time of the year. Owen Heinecke was scheduled to have a hearing tomorrow as well and George updates us on what is still going on with Heinecke and the NCAA. There are some interesting developments in the NIL space as well. It is something kind of smart that could impose a sort of tax on a school's roster when they take in transfers from the portal. Carey has the breakdown. And will OU have a jersey patch? What type of company is OU looking for? And how soon does it have to get done? George with the update on that one.

| U40: Is somebody already putting position coaches on the hot seat? | 22 juil. 2026 | 01:52:29 | |
It finally happened, we got a little too into OU football breakdowns as we started going over the offensive positions and what has to happen on offense to for John Mateer to be a more successful quarterback coach. The addition of Jason Witten has been a massive boost at the tight end position. And the tight end room could be one of those positions that really helps turn things around on offense. What is the running back room going to look like? What are Delan McCullough's running back rotations going to look like and who do we think will end up the best player in that room by the end of the season? We feel good about the offensive line. Who can OU not afford to lose along that line and remain productive? And we haven't seen anything of Trell Harris yet, even though Brent Venables declared him healthy and full go at Media Days. WE STILL DON'T LIKE HURT RECEIVERS THOUGH!!! And what about the high school guys? Will someone finally break out?! OK, you see how we can get carried away. George talks about who he voted for in the All SEC voting. And what one player can improve the offense the most? Lots of QB talk in the SEC, general SEC Conference teams and how serious is the SEC about breaking away from the NCAA? Also watch as Eddie cringes as the guys start talking about how different generations view Star Wars.

| U40: Eddy Pierre-Louis going to SEC Media Days is a good sign for the OL | 16 juil. 2026 | 01:09:25 | |
It is literally the deadest week of the year for sports. Pro tip, always take vacation the week the ESPYs are on TV. But we've kind of had a lot of football thoughts running through our mind watching a lot of OU games being played on ESPNU the last few days. George dropped part 3 of the John Mateer series and it got us thinking... Is there a receiver OU should have tried harder to keep in the portal after watching some games closer to the end of the season? We also talk about Eddy Pierre-Louis being invited to SEC Media Days to represent the team. Is this a message that Brent Venables and the offensive staff feel confident in their offensive line and particularly the leadership that is developing in that room? Major League Baseball held their draft and Eddie says the Sooners came out big winners as far as players that will now return to OU next season. Someone takes us down a rabbit hole of most crushing OU losses. It's also the peak of the offseason so we wondered aloud, how much longer are malls gonna survive?

| U40: We're sort of ready to start talking about the 2026 OU football schedule | 08 juil. 2026 | 01:35:30 | |
Big 12 Media Days have started and it's a quick reminder that some weird stuff happens during talking season. The Texas Tech situation blew up once again with Brett Yormark handling things poorly in Frisco, Texas during the old conference's preseason event. Oh boy, Texas Tech... Carey, Eddie and George are here with Josh on vacation this week and we've kind of decided it's time. We're dipping our toes in preseason talk. Position talk, storyline talk in our own rambling way of getting going with the start of the season. George has a lot of scenarios about how the season could start and how acceptable that start would be for everyone. George is also getting ready to go on a little vacation to celebrate his first year of marriage to the lovely Erin. Eddie has a family wedding coming up as well. It's wedding season for sure. Just relax everybody, enjoy some football talk as we try and prepare ourselves mentally and physically for the start of preseason camp and SEC Media Days in less than two weeks.

| U40: How bright is the spotlight on John Mateer? Josh on Wolfgramm's decision | 02 juil. 2026 | 01:17:46 | |
It was a bit rant-e today on the Unofficial 40 as Carey laid out his frustrations getting the audio dialed right in the new studios. So if you have any comments about wanting better audio, Carey has some comments for you. Carey also has some words with OU fans criticizing John Mateer for his play last year. Especially after George visited with Mateer during the Manning Passing Academy about what last season was like for him trying to play through the hand surgery. Tomorrow is possibly a big day for OU in recruiting as Uhila Wolfgramm is set to make his decision. Josh talks about the absolute roller coaster he has been on throughout his visits and decision. Some truly talented recruits will be in attendance. We've also been able to eyeball some current players and we can't help but be impressed with how physical all the young dudes are looking. Oh yeah, we've got some recent commitments to talk about. Carey has a message for all the listeners about working through the audio issues and the hiccups along the way as we close with George Stoia III's investigative journalism about cat people.

| U40: Josh's high school tour is next week, OU camps just after, lots of action to come | 21 mai 2026 | 01:15:08 | |
It's one of our favorite times of the year. Josh is headed to Oklahoma for his spring football tour and Parker beat him to the punch by flying out to Florida to see OU QB prospect Brady Quinn. And the week after that, we'll have OU football camps underway. And next week, George will be in Destin, Florida, at the SEC meetings. But for now, we open the new studio and turn the Unofficial 40 into the newest video show on YouTube. We'll still be right here for all you audio podcasters, but as many of you told us, you want it all on video too. So here we go folks. Also, the Texas Tech/Brendan Sorsby thing is despicable. But you kind of have to love it as well. It's the wild west of college football for a reason.

The school year is coming to an end and Campus Corner is starting to empty, but we're still here grinding our way toward high school spring football and summer camps. George also took a deep dive into OU's front office as he talked to a lot of agents about how OU's front office operates and how they are to deal with. And oh man, do people hate Lane Kiffin! And we're here for it. How many teams do you really need in a College Football Playoff? We also attended the Rock Creek Entertainment District groundbreaking ceremony. Carey has some beef. And we think someone is trying to harm George's dog, Finn.

| U40: Why we brought Parker Thune onboard, some football, some diamond talk | 06 mai 2026 | 01:25:21 | |
It's the first Unofficial 40 podcast since we hired Parker Thune. Carey and the guys talk a little bit about how things happened behind the scenes and whether or not it was a unanimous decision to make the hire. And why it is we ultimately believed it was the best thing for SoonerScoop and our subscribers. We're headed to the re-imagined Sooner Caravan tonight in Oklahoma City where we'll hear from OU administrators and coaches. What do we think we will hear? Some votes from the coaches on what they would like to see the regular and postseason look like moving forward. What do the guys think about eliminating conference championship games and shortening the season? OU softball is about to have their first game in the SEC tournament. How do we feel about OU's chances of making a run to another title? And is the baseball team in trouble? Josh gives us an update on what the latest is with OU football recruiting. | U40: Burks' fall in the draft, Tech's gambling QB, recruiting flip flop | 29 avr. 2026 | 01:15:23
The gang is back to talk about last weekend's NFL Draft. There were some head scratchers like Deion Burks falling late in the 7th round and Damonic Williams not getting drafted at all. George has the latest on Owen Heinecke as his lawyers were able to get a filing by the NCAA thrown out due to technical errors. The NCAA is looking to add way too many teams to March Madness. We might have to move it to April Madness. And what about this blockbuster news of Texas Tech's quarterback and NIL darling being in hot water over incredible gambling activity? | U40: Looking at NFL Draft futures for OU football's roster | 22 avr. 2026 | 01:29:06
George's X account has been hacked and it was probably his fault. But the gang is here and we're talking about the NFL Draft and where we could see OU's best getting drafted. We also take a look at future draft picks on the current OU roster and we have a spirited debate whether Jayden Jackson or David Stone will go higher in the draft one of these days. We're also buying stock at a Nancy Pelosi pace when it comes to Danny Okoye. We're also wondering why the national love for Oklahoma in 2026 seems to be missing. Are we just terrible homers? Or is everyone seeing it wrong? We talk future schedule and opponent spring game takeaways. Basketball prices seem to be going bonkers in the NIL space. That certainly seems to be affecting Porter Moser's chase for talent. We also talk a little recruiting as we're all fighting to stay awake with late night NBA games keeping us up late. It's another great week to listen to the Unofficial 40!

Tons of activity this week with the spring game coming up on Saturday. We breakdown our expectations for what we'll see along with some predictions of who could step up and open some eyes this Saturday. We also heard from John Mateer and Bowe Bentley this week. What were some of our takeways and Carey and Josh join in with their thoughts. George has been killing the Owen Heinecke court room coverage and we talk about what to expect tomorrow in court for Heinecke and the OU football program. How did we get here? How did Heinecke get here? And what will the judge be presented with tomorrow that could sway him toward granting an injunction to allow Heinecke to play? We also look at the weekend through a recruiting lens with Josh and we hit on some hoops portal and stickball to close things out.

| U40: What do OU football, easter candy and Dianna Russini have in common? | 08 avr. 2026 | 01:38:35 | |
We are deep into spring football coming off another media scrum last night on Owen Field. Brent Venables breaks down the roster at most key positions as the Sooners are battling through some bumps and bruises. But what about positions such as safety? Is there enough depth? George has all the latest on the Owen Heinecke eligibility situation and it might be time to start pondering some what-if's about his situation. The spring game is coming and the Sooners will be hosting a huge recruiting weekend. And are the Sooners developing a type at running back? It seems they have their eyes on very specific body types moving forward. George talks women's hoops portal and we debate whether Iowa State's Audi Crooks is the player Jennie Baranczyck is really after from Ames. Some men's hoops and some baseball round us out. Come for the football talk, stay for the Easter candy and Dianna Russini talk on this episode of the Unofficial 40.

| U40: Stand outs for Scoop crew after two weeks of spring practice | 01 avr. 2026 | 01:44:48 | |
We've had three viewings and several rounds of interviews two weeks into spring football practices. Carey, Josh, Eddie and George get together to talk about the things that are standing out to them most through the second week. And there are zero April Fools shenanigans involved in this one. The defense looks good at a lot of positions. George does have concerns about one. The offense is different, and it's clear there is a mantra with the offense this spring. What about the running back room? The tight end room? The QB room? Is Bowe Bentley going to have a backup role by the time the season gets here? We talk a little bit about the shape of the SEC and college football in general. What teams could we see falling apart in 2026? Why is Vegas so down on the Sooners with win totals and point spreads? We wrap up the women's hoops season with George because OU's men start the Crown tonight. Some diamond talk and even though we did a big Recruiting Report today, we get Josh's thoughts on the decommitment of Micah Rhodes. It is a long one folks! Enjoy!

| U40: Our impressions after watching an hour of spring practice | 26 mars 2026 | 01:26:16 | |
Oh man, Carey, Josh, Eddie and George get together to talk about everything they saw during OU's first spring football practice and they break down everything they saw. Tight ends, receivers, defensive line, offensive line, newcomers, coaches, people who got chewed out, people who looked good. It's just a cavalcade of observations from day one. And Carey has some opinions on the fascination with John Mateer's throwing motion. George has some ideas of his own. The take game is actually strong in this one as Carey kind of goes off on OU's decision to do what they're doing to the west side of the stadium. How do you see things? Women's hoops is getting ready for a Sweet 16 showdown and great news as Jen Rocha is returning to coaching for OU softball. Baseball gets set to take on Texas this week as a program at the top of the SEC following series wins against Texas A&M and LSU. What are Eddie's expectations for this weekend. It's the start of the NCAA Tournament and time to give our official takes on how we feel about Porter Moser returning to Oklahoma and Roger Denny's decision to keep him. The women are dancing and they will be dancing late on Friday night. We're hoping the people show up for a 9pm tip-off. And it is spring break and there is no spring football, but next week, spring football returns. We talk a little bit about the position rooms heading into spring and some of the storylines that would make us believe that things are going to go well at certain positions. We take deep dives into the offensive line and receiving rooms as we try and remind ourselves of who is gone and where they went. Carey is ready to read some reports about Taylor Tatum's safety adventures at Michigan while Eddie volunteers to go to Las Vegas to cover the Dan Mullen/Jackson Arnold duo at UNLV. We've been busy around the Scoop offices and that's the way we like it. OU spring football media day was on Monday and Carey is here with some of his impressions since Eddie and George have been burning up the YouTube channel. Got some leftover thoughts from all the guys as well, like what the offensive line could be with the current roster, how productive we think some of the new tight ends could be. Are we not talking enough about Trynae Washington at tight end? After Jim Nagy's comments on Owen Heinecke the other day, George has an update on where Heinecke is in terms of his next move. We've talked a lot about the future freaks weekend, but what about the aftermath? Where did the Sooners make up the most ground? And with what players? George and Carey delve into the decision that has to be made in regards to Porter Moser and we can't get enough of Jason Witten.

We talk with Josh McCuistion about what that means for recruiting at the position and we get into the running back room in general. We take some time to look at some of the coaching moves during the offseason as a lot of big name offensive and defensive coordinators have landed at Power 4 schools with aspirations for the College Football Playoffs next season. There has been a lot of news floating around lately, so forgive some of us if we forgot it (used to be) is the biggest day of the year. National Signing Day! Actually no one remembered because most everyone signs in the early period and then you have the portal. But the Sooners do have a notable addition in LeBron Bauer to celebrate on national signing day. The Sooners are looking for a new cornerbacks coach after Jay Valai is headed to the NFL. What insight do we have on the hire? The Oklahoma Supreme Court also paves the way for the city of Norman to build OU's next arena off campus. We've got some hoops talk as well. | What can OU learn about Indiana's title and apply it to their roster? | 21 janv. 2026 | 01:25:52
College football season is officially over now that Indiana has defeated Miami to win the National Championship. This is a good thing for everyone in college football right? So how did we get here? What did Indiana do that we can apply to the Sooners' roster? Indiana proved it's not just about who is spending the most money on players. It's about a whole lot more than just that. We dive into our thoughts on how they built this thing. And we ask ourselves how close OU is to mirroring some of their approach to being the best in the country. We take a look at the construction of OU's roster heading into the 2026 season and players from the portal who will make the biggest impact next season as we wait on spring football to get started. And what is going on with Porter Moser's squad? They look lifeless and lost. Have we made the decision already? Time to move on from the Moser era? George is on vacation this week. Josh is headed to vacation next week. But you'll always have Carey and Eddie. Especially since Eddie wasn't caught up in the PC North fraud going on in OKC. Carey and Eddie start off the pod by relaying their experience at OU basketball last night. IT WAS AWFUL! Now we're on to portal talk and evaluating OU's haul. Could OU have done better? Yes. But they don't have a $40 million roster to work with like some others. Nagy was in quick and now is out looking for a few needs at the right price. Also putting a wrap on all the talent the Sooners lost in the portal. With what the Sooners have now, what does the 2026 team look like. And when players get paid, there are consequences to be paid. Basically, if you aren't performing and if you aren't healthy, you aren't guaranteed anything in this climate. It's dog eat dog. We discuss. We also talk about what's left in the portal as well as how this sets the Sooners up for next season. Men's and women's hoops are set to embark on some interesting tests as conference play has started.

| U40: The portal is swallowing up a lot of OU players. Any concerns? | 31 déc. 2025 | 01:31:43 | |
It's been a fast and furious day of Oklahoma football players entering the transfer portal. As we were recording the podcast today, we got the news that Mike Hawkins was entering the portal. And even more came after that. George has updates on potential coaching changes. Josh is heading to Orlando for the Under Armour All-American week where he's anxious to catch up with Zane Rowe and other major OU projects. Rowe, the former OU commit, has long been on our radar since we first saw him as a freshman taking on Michael Fasusi in camps. And we have so many other questions about the QB room and the depth there with Hawkins' departure. Surely this means Mateer is coming back right? And some aren't in agreement about Davon Jordan and how much that hurts the Sooners heading into next season. A lot to talk about and a lot of real time processing during this edition of the Unofficial 40

The guys get together and talk about exactly what is happening inside the Switzer Center as players are starting to announce their intentions to the enter the portal which opens Jan. 2. Where are the Sooners looking to fill their biggest needs? What coaches will be around to coach these guys in the spring? We've also got some John Mateer talk for you as we're still hashing over his role in this offense and as the leader of the OU offense. The linebacker position is one of those positions we're all keeping a close eye on. | U40: Will OU's defense puts the clamps down on Alabama and head to L.A.? | 16 déc. 2025 | 01:36:14
It's Tuesday, but since the Sooners play on Friday, we're treating this like a Wednesday. And we have to get Eddie in the mood because he just wants the game to be here. Like we all do. We're talking about the matchup but we've also done most of the media stuff this week. So we have plenty to talk about. It's a challenge for both teams to have a rematch. But does OU having the best defense give them the edge? We all agree John Mateer and the OU offense has to be better. We got to see a little bit of practice yesterday. What do we think about guys like R Mason Thomas and Jake Maikkula after seeing them out there? Bedlam basketball was very good to the men and the women. We have a little hoops talk for you as well. Josh gives a preview of what to expect at some of the All-American games coming up early next month as well. It's a big one in Norman Friday night. One of the biggest ever.

| We're antsy for the start of College Football Playoff week | 10 déc. 2025 | 01:19:06 | |
It's just Wednesday. The Sooners are still 9 days away from their first round matchup with Alabama in Norman. The All-SEC teams were announced yesterday and OU had 10 players represented. They also had the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year, Tate Sandell, announced during the show. We gush about Sandell but we had to stop. No jinxes needed here. But we're ready to see what this grimey Sooners team can do in a playoff full of great teams. Our question is this? Who has really been through the mud this season like Oklahoma? Or Georgia? Or even Alabama? Has Texas Tech been through the mud and had to have people question their offense like some of the teams in the SEC? Yes, we're officially SEC homers now. Josh is here to talk about another huge 2027 commitment, we mix in some hoops talk and George has his rants on Notre Dame and the CFP committee. Notre Dame... Leave Ivan Maisel alone!

| It's National Signing Day on the Unofficial 40 | 04 déc. 2025 | 01:17:23 | |
Jim Nagy and Brent Venables put together their first full recruiting class together in the 2026 cycle. How do we feel the partnership is going after listening to both of them talk about the class on National Signing Day? And what about the standouts in this class? Josh McCuistion thinks he can make an argument that the offensive side of the ball has more talent than the defensive side of the ball. And what about the ones that got away? And the ones, like Jonathan Hatton, that didn't? We also hit on some College Football Playoff talk and a little bit of hoops. Always a big show week when it's signing day!

| U40: Will LSU leave it all out on the field? Or are they already done? | 26 nov. 2025 | 01:33:41 | |
It's one of the biggest games anyone has seen in Norman in a long time. OU is one win away from heading to the College Football Playoff. Speaking of that, there are a couple of teams that could really blow this thing all up if things fall the right way. We discuss OU's position in the playoff race. Are the Sooners destined to play Notre Dame in Norman? It's also going to be a MASSIVE recruiting weekend for the Sooners. A commitment happened just after we stopped taping actually. Josh with more on the big names in town. It also seems to be a weekly tradition now. We pick a room on the offensive side of the ball and just tear it to shreds. This week, it's the wide receiver room. We pour one out for the death of the green bean casserole. John Mateer may have killed it in Oklahoma. Keep Eddie away from him during pregame warmups. He isn't taking this well.

| U40: Can Sooners get to 10-2 with this RB situation? | 19 nov. 2025 | 01:34:20 | |
Oklahoma is currently ranked No. 8 in the College Football Playoff Rankings. That means that as long as OU wins out, they should be good for inclusion in the playoff. It also means they are in the running for a first-round home game. Carey, Josh, Eddie and George talk about the playoff hunt and more importantly, Missouri. The Tigers head into Norman trying to play the spoiler role. And there is an issue. The Oklahoma running back room has few available bodies with Xavier Robinson and Tory Blaylock all banged up right now. How did this happen? We also take a deep dive into the play of John Mateer. What do we attribute his struggles to? And is he for sure the guy next year for the Sooners? What role does Ben Arbuckle play in all of this? Next we talk recruiting and the impact this season is having on potential recruits. New commitment is in! It's another edition of the Unofficial 40 podcast.

| OU heads to Alabama with playoff hopes firmly within reach | 12 nov. 2025 | 01:29:20 | |
The Sooners get set to head to Alabama for one of the biggest SEC games of the season. The Sooners can likely punch their ticket to the CFB Playoffs with a win. Otherwise, it's hoping other things can fall their way. We also dive into the west side stadium expansion and what that will look like in the coming years. What about stadium capacity? What about people losing their seats? And coaching changes and buyouts have us all asking ourselves what is going on in college football. Brian Kelly suing LSU? LSU saying they never fired him? We're here for all the drama. And how much could the Sooners benefit from the uncertainty at other schools that have fired their coaches. OU is already making inroads with Penn State's recruiting class. Is there more to come? Basketball us underway and we've seen the OU women and men against quality competition already.

| U40: Venables' depth on defense, CFP rankings and OU gameday atmosphere | 05 nov. 2025 | 01:30:52 | |
The Unofficial 40 is back for the least tense episode in a while. It's a bye week and we have plenty to talk about with the first CFP rankings released last night. We also get into a discussion about the depth of the OU defense and how uncommon this team is from that perspective. How has Venables done it? And has there ever been a great cornerback at Oklahoma that people didn't complain about at one time or another? Coaches are being fired left and right. We're living in unprecedented times. We're also wondering if Jackson Arnold has a home after struggling at Oklahoma and Auburn? Where could we see him land next? Carey isn't happy that the WR position in college isn't valued higher by the Oklahoma front office. And what can the Sooners do to improve their gameday operations that Eddie and George took away from their trip to Tennessee? That and much more on another edition of the Unofficial 40.

| What this week has taught us about where the offense is now | 29 oct. 2025 | 01:41:44 | |
It's been a full week of trying to figure out what is wrong with John Mateer and Oklahoma's offense. We started out with Saturday frustrations and worked our way through players and coaches to try and find answers as to what is really happening with Mateer and the OU passing game. With a road battle with Tennessee looming, the Sooners have to get better. And the mistakes have to disappear quickly if this team is going to do anything in these next two road trips. Josh is here to talk about the recent commitment of Jahsiear Rogers, the former Penn State commitment, and some other nuggets out on the recruiting trail. Eddie gets a little basketball talk in and we talk a little about the madness all over the world of college football with mass firings happening all over. Could Venables be joining that list if things go a certain way down the stretch? It's this week's edition of the Unofficial 40!
