S05E09 - Wonder Egg Priority - Flirty Hair Don't Care
18 Jun 2021

Episode Notes
TW/CW - We discuss a transgender character being raped in this episode. While the discussion is fairly benign, please be aware that this is an important part of the narrative concerning Kaoru and this week's Wonder Killer.
On the subject of Kaoru. Kaoru is a trans man because he says he is and we and Momoe believe him. This is not up for debate. We used he/him pronouns over they/them simply to reflect what seemed likely to be his wishes though he never explicitly makes it clear as Japanese can be much less pronoun heavy in practice.
Due to behind the scenes issues with the production of Wonder Egg Priority, the production fell behind schedule and the team had to make the difficult decision to add an unscheduled clip show to the run. Therefore episode 8 is a recap which is why ONP jumped straight to episode 9 in our coverage. Due to this issue they added an extra hour long special to the production to be released at the end of June. We will be covering this as it becomes available.
Thank you all for joining us this season. We're not going on intermission just yet, we're steamrolling ahead into our next series on Wonder Egg Priority from next week. Don't miss it!
The show Sabrina referred to on Netflix is called: Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel
if you're interested in Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! check out Series 3 of our show in which we covered the whole first (and currently only) season.
TW/CW: This episode discusses suicide in a frank and humorous manner that matches the tone of episode 8 of Paranoia Agent. Please be aware when listening.
Kurt Cobain was the vocalist of seminal 90s grunge rock band, Nirvana. In 1994 at the age of 27 he took his own life after years of struggle with depression and drug abuse.
Hi, Sabrina Rei here. I heavily edited our discussion of the Shonen A incident which I believe partially informs the "paranoia" of the series. While this will be coming up again as a topic in subsequent episodes, I would prefer not to discuss the particulars of the crime on the show out of respect for the victims.
Those wishing to delve further can look at the wikipedia, Shonen A or Kobe murders. For the same reason I will not link here.
