The Network La Red understands oppression to be an imbalance of power intrinsically linked to the privileges bestowed on some at the expense of others, based on but not limited to: race, ethnicity, gender expression and identity, class, ability, sexuality, religion, citizenship status, age, language capacity and history of incarceration and court involvement.

Partner abuse exists to achieve and maintain control, and reflects and perpetuates the larger violent culture which condones and rewards interpersonal, institutional and imperialist abuse of power in order to control and/or exploit groups of people. The Network/La Red links domestic violence to all other forms of violence, oppression and abuse, because the values and tactics behind each are identical.

Angelique Luna is a Sex & Relationship Expert and Intuitive Life Coach who helps individuals and couples to gain confidence in communicating their sexual desires and needs.  In 2008 she sought out therapy to deal with a family tragedy. When therapists learned about her sexuality as a bisexual swinger, they focused more on questioning her lifestyle than helping through her trauma. She recognized that the therapy world was uncomfortable talking about sex that wasn’t heterosexual cisgender monogamous.  That experience lead to Angelique becoming a Certified Kink Aware Professional & Sex Educator so she could be an advocate for sexual freedom.  She helps individuals and couples to better communicate about sex such as their sexual needs & desires with their partners, have a better understanding of their sexuality, and how to talk to their children about sex.

John C. Luna in his original career, John was an entrepreneur, author, professional educator and software developer. After 12+ years in the swinger, fetish and BDSM lifestyles, he has started a new chapter of his life educating others on alternative relationships and human sexuality. He lectures on non-monogamy, bisexuality, safe sexual practices, BDSM and other kink related topics. He is a tantra & Tai Chi practitioner, a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Tantra & Divine Sexuality and offers

Flare's Mission:
"We started Flare to change the industry and offer a modern, practical tool built from personal experience. A tool for people to discreetly take control when needed. Flare is not a solution. We are a stop-gap for today while real change is made. Our mission is simple: to put ourselves out of business and create a world where Flare is not needed. We are proud to support and work with amazing groups tackling this issue from multiple angles. Some of them are listed below. Safety isn't one-size-fits-all and we don't have “the answers.” We worked with thousands of people over 4 years to develop Flare and are committed to constant improvement, breaking down our own assumptions and privilege, and continuing to make our tools better until they're no longer needed." (Taken from getFlare.com)

Quinn Fitzgerald: "Quinn Fitzgerald is an entrepreneur, advocate, venture-backed business founder, and public servant. As the co-founder of Flare, she is reinventing personal safety with community-driven technology solutions based on real experiences.  Flare’s technology is hidden in jewelry and their software platform is powered by an extensive data engine that provides customizable safety features for users to select between. Quinn started Flare because of personal experience with assault and because her experience is unfortunately not unique.  Her passion for innovation and breaking down stereotypes around safety started in college, where she was the first person to design her own major in Conflict Resolution at the College of the Holy Cross. Quinn attended Harvard Business School and previously served as the Assistant Director of the White House Business Council in the Obama White House." ( From Fast Company)

ELERTS was founded on the belief that while “See Something Say Something” is easy to understand, it is not so easy to report a concern. Telephone calls are an inefficient reporting medium and many people do not want to make a phone call to report a concern. The growing popularity of smartphones enabled ELERTS to create an easy-to-use communication platform that lowers the barrier to report something. ELERTS is dedicated to delivering rapid situation awareness and actionable information to Operations Centers that utilize our platform.
ELERTS  is a two-way incident management system deployed at the Operations Centers of our customers.  Safety concerns, maintenance issues, and customer experience concerns are quickly routed to the appropriate Operations Center. A 2-way real-time chat is established between a dispatcher and the person reporting the problem.  Nearby resources, can be displayed to a dispatcher, providing enhanced situation awareness.

Chris Russo-  is a lifelong First Responder and is highly decorated, having received numerous awards, including Massachusetts’ highest “Medal of Honor,” recognizing his outstanding career in fire services, incident response and public safety education. For the past seven years, Chris served as Deputy Fire Chief of Hull, Massachusetts and was promoted to Chief of Department in January 2015.  He has personally been involved in many high profile events, including the Response and Reconnaissance team at Ground Zero 9/11, the Response team at Worcester Cold Storage Fire, the rescuing of several Kayakers trapped in the Weir River Culvert, the rescue of 175 people from a commuter boat in Boston Harbor and many more emergency incidents.

Ed English -  is a successful serial entrepreneur.  Prior to ELERTS, Ed served as CEO of interMute, a computer security company that was a pioneer in anti-spyware software and which was acquired by Trend Micro.  Ed has an extensive background in product creation, computer networking, e- commerce and establishing OEM sales channels and partnerships. Ed has overseen the development of – and brought to market – products for retail, small business and enterprise customers. Early in his career, Ed programmed computer chess and several video games, including Frogger, for the Atari 2600.

SafeBAE defines the core issues of rape culture and sexual assault as the single most dangerous and impacting events in the lives of young people today. The statistics show the rate of assaults as significantly higher than any other age demographic, yet our culture offers little in the way of education or opportunities to change this epidemic. SafeBAE was founded by us in 2015. Daisy, Ella, and Jada are teen sexual-assault survivors and together with Charlie (Daisy’s brother) and Shael (our executive director) we created SafeBAE in an effort to prevent what happened to us from happening to anyone else (the BAE in SafeBAE stands for “before anyone else.”) (About Us from safebae.org)

Aela Mansmann, SafeBAE Youth Outreach Director is a high school student but has been a lifelong activist.  As president of her Civil Rights Club, she led her school in a gun safety walkout in early 2018.  She also helped to create a “Words for Good” week project to build empathy in the school community.  She is an active member of the Civil Rights team, Debate Club, Field Hockey Team, Drama Club, Mock Trial, and the Gay/Straight Alliance as well as joining SafeBAE as a national BAE Breaker.

Life With My Idiot Family

Kathy Picard has worked tirelessly to raise public awareness about the prevalence and realities of childhood sexual abuse. Using her own life's experience as a platform, she speaks to public, private and political audiences as part of her mission to expose childhood sexual abuse for the "dirty little secret" it continues to be, and to educate and inform all of us about how we can become a part of the solution.

For her consistent and concerted efforts towards raising awareness, and for being an active and vocal advocate in the successful reform of the Massachusetts Statute of Limitations laws regarding sex crimes against children, she was awarded an Unsung Heroine Award, the William Pynchon Award, and Zonta International's Founder's Day Award.

Kathy continues to speak to audiences about the importance of each of us doing what we can to prevent childhood sexual abuse, while her achievements continue to remind us all that one person can make a difference. (Bio from Amazon).

Sergeant Joanne Archambault (Retired, San Diego Police Department) is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer for End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI), America’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving criminal justice responses to sexual assault. Since its inception in 2003, EVAWI has received almost $9.5 million in public and private funding and provided training and technical assistance to tens of thousands of professionals.

Sgt. Archambault has provided training for tens of thousands of practitioners, policymakers and others – across the country and around the world. She has also been instrumental in creating system-level change through individual contacts, as well as policy initiatives and recommendations for best practice. Despite all her efforts, Sgt. Archambault has long recognized that professional responses will not matter if victims are met with skeptical responses from professionals as well as friends and loved ones. In 2011, she therefore achieved a dream first envisioned while working in the SDPD Child Abuse Unit in 1985 – the launch of Start by Believing, a public awareness campaign designed to transform the way we as a society respond to victims of child abuse and sexual violence. With campaigns now taking hold in 49 states and countless communities, this vision is becoming a reality as we are closer to becoming the first Start by Believing Nation, changing the world for victims, one response at a time (Bio from evawintl.org).

JDoe:
Our philosophy is built on 3 foundational ideas

1. Identify

Identify repeat offenders. Cases with multiple plaintiffs are both less harrowing for survivors and more likely to win in court. The current system more often than not fails to find mutual survivors.

2. Provide

Provide direct access to civil lawyers and prosecutors, circumventing authorities who may not have survivors' best interests in mind. It is our goal that making the reporting process simpler and safer will enable more survivors and witnesses to act within the statute of limitations of their state.

3. Ensure

Ensure survivors and witnesses complete control over their data. Nothing will be sent to anyone, ever, until a user specifically requests it. Our encryption algorithms guarantee your privacy. Even if compelled to do so by a warrant, JDoe would be unable to read your data and hand it over.
