| The Human Side of Digital Strategy: Why Connection Beats Clicks Every Time | 08 sept. 2025 | 00:37:42 | |
This week, we’re joined by Kaia Maeve Tingley, a visionary who’s redefining the relationship between technology and real life. With over 25 years in IT and two decades as a massage and shiatsu therapist and martial arts instructor, Kaia brings a rare perspective—one that bridges the digital and the embodied. As the founder of the Web Makers Circle, Kaia helps small business owners and founders build websites rooted in trust, authenticity, and human connection—without the hype, hustle, or cookie-cutter templates. Her journey from corporate marketing and B2B sales to creating her own approach was sparked by seeing just how disconnected most digital strategies can feel. In this conversation, we explore how Kaia blends tech expertise with embodiment practices to create online spaces that truly reflect who people are and what they offer. From her workshops and cohort-based programs to her unique 1:1 sessions that combine bodywork and web design, Kaia shows us what’s possible when technology is put back in service of human values. If you’ve ever felt frustrated by digital strategies that feel shallow or misaligned, this episode will inspire you to imagine—and build—a new way forward. | Writing to Heal: Reclaiming Strength Through Journaling ft. Julianna Sheriff | 19 mai 2025 | 00:28:01
Today’s guest is Jewels — a mental health advocate, educator, certified life coach, and the founder of Hopeful Horizons, the brand behind Breathe, a premium guided mental health journal that helps midlife women feel more grounded and calm, while reducing anxiety and stress. Hopeful Horizons is dedicated solely to Jewels’s line of premium guided journals that offer simple, supportive tools to help women reconnect with themselves. Her earlier journals, created under her broader company Jewels Wellness Journals, helped her test and grow her vision — but Breathe is the heart of the brand and the beginning of something bigger. Jewels didn’t grow up believing this kind of life was possible. Raised in a loving but abusive home, and bullied throughout school, she grew up without mentors, without guidance, and without confidence in herself or her abilities. For years, she believed she was meant to quietly work for others and retire with just enough to get by. But throughout her life, she crossed paths with people who saw something in her — mentors and connectors who helped her start to see her own worth. Little by little, her life began to change. Her education grew, her healing deepened, and her belief in what was possible started to shift. Now at 58, Jewels is walking a new path — one built on courage, connection, and purpose. She’s recently launched a YouTube channel to share her story, and she’s working on a journaling masterclass and a series of in-person workshops to help women build simple journaling practices into their lives. She’s also developing a course to help women move from fear to courage — because she knows firsthand that fear isn’t a stop sign. It’s an invitation. Thanks for listening!

| Healing From Trauma: Regulating the Nervous System, and Thriving with Melanie Starr | 10 mars 2025 | 00:36:55 | |
Melanie Starr is a holistic health and wellness coach with a focus on stress management, trauma recovery, nervous system regulation and post-traumatic growth. But this has not always been her path. She began her career more than 30 years ago as a writer and public relations consultant, and has worked closely with Dalhousie Medical School, the Brain Repair Centre, IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health and many other organizations in the fields of advanced education, health care and research, and continues to work as a consultant to the medical school, “on the side.” Like many coaches and healers, Melanie came to her true purpose through the crucible of trauma. The impact of getting hit by a motorcycle, several high-speed sporting accidents, the sudden death of her brother in the H1N1 pandemic, a long-term high-conflict marriage and devastating divorce, the suicide of her daughter’s best friend in junior high, and a three-year all-out war to rescue her daughter from the grip of severe depression and nearly fatal anorexia, drove her to seek unconventional pathways to healing. Adding professional expertise to her personal experience in trauma, Melanie embarked on a mission to learn everything she could about the biology of trauma and how to heal from its damaging effects. What she found about the importance of working with the body, breath and mind to regulate the nervous system, mitigate stress and heal trauma dovetailed perfectly with her long experience as a yoga teacher. She is now also a certified rapid results coach, master EFT practitioner, Reiki Master-Teacher, and Soul Realignment practitioner, working with clients at all levels of their being to break destructive patterns, release harmful conditioning, dissolve limiting beliefs, and alleviate physical symptoms, mental overwhelm and emotional pain. As a result, her clients learn how to regulate their nervous systems, elevate their thinking and focus their minds, protect and nourish their personal energy, make empowered choices, and thrive in purpose-driven, authentic lives.

| Design Thinking: Nithin Jacob Eapen on how design has taken him across the world | 06 janv. 2025 | 00:37:31 | |
Nithin Jacob Eapen is a product designer, educator, and creative thinker with over a decade of global experience. His journey spans vibrant cities like Milan, Bangalore, Dubai, and Kuwait City, where I’ve designed everything from consumer products and furniture to digital experiences, branding, and interiors. Currently based in Halifax, Canada, He is the Founder and Design Director of Handyield Designs, a product design studio focused on creating innovative, user-centered, and sustainable solutions. He also co-founded 360 Magic Labs, an agency that blends event planning and social media marketing to help brands grow through memorable experiences. He believes that design is a language — if you know how to speak it, you can create products that resonate with people and solve real-world problems. His approach to design goes beyond aesthetics; it’s about balancing innovation, functionality, and sustainability. He sees design as a bridge between an idea and a product that people love to use and enjoys working closely with clients to turn their concepts into market-ready, manufacturable solutions. Teaching has also played a significant role in his life. As a faculty member at prestigious design institutions like NIFT and Saintgits Design School, He found joy in mentoring future designers and helping them pivot from conventional thinking to a designer’s mindset. Today, whether he’s leading a project at Handyield Designs, crafting a brand experience at 360 Magic Labs, or simply sketching ideas over a cup of coffee, his goal remains the same: to create meaningful, human-centred designs. He is always curious, learning, and eager to connect with others who share a passion for creativity and innovation. Thanks for listening!

Jake Smith is a whirlwind of ambition, creativity, and resilience—a self-proclaimed “Jake of all trades” with a passion for blending beauty and business in the most authentic way possible. Growing up in the conservative town of Truro, Jake first dabbled in makeup privately, wondering if he’d ever get to reveal his true self. Fast forward to Halifax, and he’s now in a community that embraces him, where he empowers others—especially queer entrepreneurs—to find their own voices and show up authentically. Through his brand, Beauty and Business by Jake, he’s on a mission to help small businesses and marginalized voices shine. From social media strategy and consulting to makeup artistry and inclusive networking events, Jake’s work is fueled by the power of connection and the impact that authenticity can bring. It's been a transformative journey for him, one that’s allowed him to overcome challenges, build meaningful relationships, and inspire others to embrace their true selves. For years, he’s soaked up lessons from books, mentors, and every connection he’s made. Now, as Operations Manager at 9 Mile Business Centre, a part-time legal assistant, and the founder of his own brand, he’s bringing those lessons to life—helping others thrive while living his own truth. People often call him a “Jack of all trades,” but he’s quick to correct them: it’s “Jake of all trades.” When he’s not knee-deep in business, you’ll find him experimenting with makeup, having deep conversations, dancing to a pop playlist, or sipping a cheap glass of wine on the dance floor. From business books to glitter, Jake loves to do it all—quirky, weird, and unapologetically authentic. Thanks for listening!
