Episode 39: I Want to Trust You, but I Don't with Lysa TerKeurst-Adams + Chaz Adams16 Oct 202401:05:17

The alternate title to this episode was "swipe right" because that's how Lysa and Chaz's love story started. This episode is FULL of gems. We get an inside look at why dating is hard, how to work through trust issues (we all have them), why doing the work on yourself is worth it, and what we can do to trust God when we just straight up don't feel like it.

Their love story will give you hope. It's a reminder that there is beauty after the pressing, my friend.

Lysa TerKeurst is a New York Times Bestseller Author, Speaker, and President of Proverbs 31 Ministries. She has written TONS of incredible books, but her newest one, I Want to Trust You, but I Don't, is a must read.

Episode 18: Modern Warfare with Steve Biondo14 Feb 202400:48:40

This episode is such an important conversation in 2024! President of the Tim Tebow Foundation, Steve Biondo, and I got to talk about what it means to fight for humans in our day and age. From the critical dangers of pornography to human trafficking to cycles of abuse, he is SO wise on all things human. TTF is fighting for the marginalized, the forgotten, the abused, and the broken. And we should too. There is so much we need to be educated on to advocate for the people that cannot advocate for themselves and Steve helps give handles to why this work matters so much. AND at the end of the day, the Gospel always goes first. It is the light we bring against the darkness. There is no doubt Steve is living out his unique calling. Whether it's presenting to global governments or kicking down doors to rescue the one, he is constantly leaning in to what the Lord has for him here and now.

Episode 11: When God Gives You a Gift with Lindsey Sweat08 Nov 202300:49:30

Our FINAL episode of Season 1 is with none other than the amazing Lindsey Sweat aka Trella. She is a singer and songwriter. She's written on all types of music, from Maverick City to Love is Blind.  I called this episode "When God Gives You a Gift" because she knew when she was in middle school that God put singing/song writing in her and she has pursued that gift down so many paths. Amidst her very fun and exciting life we talk all about, she has also battled seasons of doubting her faith, anxiety, and depression and we talk about all about how she has worked through those seasons.

Check out her music and enjoy this perfect finale conversation of Neighbors Season 1 :)

Pastor One (pronounced “oh-nay”) is one of the most inspiring and insightful individuals I have ever sat across from. One is the lead pastor of Rooted Fellowship church in Pretoria, South Africa and the Network Director of Africa for Acts29. Episode 8: Living a Life of Yes with Stacey Wheale18 Oct 202300:34:45

I have known Stacey for 25 years. We grew up one street over from one another and she was, and is, my older sister's best friend which means I have looked up to Stacey since the moment I met her. I have watched her pursue Jesus and love people so fiercely through the hard seasons and the joyful seasons. She says yes to so many things people wouldn’t even consider saying yes to (you'll hear her downplay that, but don't let it fool you). Things like moving to Northern Ireland to be a long term missionary and child play therapist. Her life has emulated what it means to trust God’s call on your life. To say yes even when you can’t see the ending.

Once or twice a season, I want to just tell people's stories. A storyteller episode, if you will. No better way to start it than with Audrey Sower's story. Listen to how she unexpectedly became a foster mom overnight. Yep, literally overnight. Her story is one of surprises, hardship, God's sovereignty, endurance, and continually putting her yes on the table. I know your eyes will be opened to some realities of the foster care world and how we all have a part to play in it. Be inspired by my sweet friend, Audrey.

Episode 31: A Conversation with my Mom and Dad12 Jun 202400:47:18

Season 3 is coming to an end and there felt like no better way to close it out than with this special conversation with my very own parents. Now in their mid 60s, they have raised 3 girls, led amazing careers (paid and unpaid), and now are taking retirement head on as an opportunity to deepen their faith and share it with others. I am inspired by their boldness and encouraged by their reflection on what they did and didn’t do as parents, spouses, friends, and followers of Jesus. I love these two people so deeply and I hope this conversations brightens your day!

58: Ladybug at the Well with Reina Cherry09 Jul 202500:56:49

If there is one woman I want to grow up and be like, it's probably Reina Cherry. You may not know her name, but her impact can be felt amongst hundreds of women that she has discipled and cared for over decades of ministry. She makes more disciples than cookies (and she makes a LOT of cookies - shout out Reina Cookies). She is fiercely devoted to a life centered around Christ and inviting other people into that life. And she is absolutely hilarious.

She is the goal and I am honored that I got to share time with her.

57: Beyond Your Circumstances with Jeramiah Bowles25 Jun 202501:06:00

Life has dealt Jeramiah a hand he maybe wouldn’t have picked for himself. But, God. Because of His faith in Jesus, Jeramiah has chosen a different path. One of joy and gratitude. One of hard work and generational legacy. His testimony is one of deep struggle and pain, but also one of big redemption, big healing, and big hope.

No matter where you find yourself, no matter the circumstances, God is bigger and we know He’s good. It’s messages like Jeramiah’s that remind us of this vital truth.

Episode 48: Jesus in a Strip Club with Tami Taunton19 Feb 202500:36:40

Yeah, you read that right. Tami Taunton, the founder of Hadassah's Hope, believes that all people should hear the good news of the gospel, and all people includes strippers. Each week, her ministry loves on girls in the clubs, leads bible studies, and even ministers to the bouncers and club owners.

Tami was your classic stay at home mom - loving her husband and raising babies unto the glory of God . Until one day, God blew all of that up and led Tami to start serving a group of people largely looked over or disregarded.

This conversation is inspiring and you may just find yourself bringing Jesus to a strip club near you.

Episode 47: From Prison to Pastor with Walker Day05 Feb 202500:56:33

From addict to jail to homeless to jail again to radically saved to cleaning toilets at the church to pastor, Walker Day’s story is one of darkness to light. His candid and authentic personality paired with his heart for the farthest, most broken people is magnetic. Woven through his story are countless lessons from the Lord and questions we all should wrestle through. This conversation will inspire you to go after whatever little thing God has put in front of you right now and to never miss an opportunity to love those people on the fringes.

Episode 46: Another Emergency Room Visit22 Jan 202500:48:51

Well, Caitlin and I are back with more ridiculousness than ever. Yes, I had another random injury with a trip to the ER and yes, now I have a good story. Yes, Caitlin has an ANCIENT iPhone and yes, we study an incredibly obscure passage of scripture and it's all just FUN. Also, this is a sneak peak of one of our Patreon episodes (aka what you could be getting more of every week)

Episode 45: Fighting Distraction with Ryan Britt08 Jan 202501:06:38

Today's guest is one of the smartest men in my life. Pastor Ryan Britt is the Executive Pastor of the Church of Eleven22. His giftings in leadership and teaching others how to lead well are a rare gift. We walk through SO many topics from the myth of self love, the Enemy's schemes to distract us from purpose, and how to lead and love well. This episode is so timely for the new year as it will give us handles and riverbanks as we set goals, make changes, etc. in order to stay Christ centered and mission focused.

--

To hear more from Pastor Britt, you can catch him on the Deepen with Pastor Joby Martin podcast weekly (he remains wiser than us all and does not have social media)

We all face suffering. Whether it’s past, present, or coming. Suffering is a guarantee in the life of a Christian. Scott and Morgan Parks experienced a season of suffering and, amidst the hurt, decided to leverage it for the glory of God.
