Jess Robinson is a multiple award-winning impressionist, actor, voice artist and classically-trained singer, who is the lead female voice artist in the new Spitting Image and a regular on Channel 4’s The Last Leg. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe with a new show every year since 2014; including the wildly successful NO FILTER, which rounded off a critically-acclaimed, nationwide tour with a five-night run at the Soho Theatre in 2019. Her podcast Stars In Your Ears with Jess Robinson won Best Entertainment Podcast at the British Podcast Awards in 2021. On stage, Jess played the title role in Jim Cartwright’s Little Voice and joined The Guilty Feminist on their UK tour and at the Royal Albert Hall and Hammersmith Apollo. Jess has appeared on TV shows as far reaching as CBBC’s hit Horrible Histories, The Impressionists Show (BBC 1), The Last Leg (C4), The Week That Wasn’t (Sky 1), Don’t Hate The Playaz (ITV) and The Imitation Game (ITV). Toby Hadoke is an actor, writer, podcaster and award winning comedian. He is the host of a weekly comedy night in Manchester at XS Malarkey Comedy Club and presents a monthly new material night at the 53Two theatre with comedians such as Sarah Millican, Justin Moorhouse, and Gary Delaney. Toby is a regular presenter of the 7th Dimension on BBC Radio 4 Extra and a walking encyclopaedia of Doctor Who, hence his podcast all about Doctor Who, Toby Hadoke’s Time Travels. His one-man show Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe before he took it on a national tour, international dates and a West End run. The radio version was released on CD by the BBC and was nominated for a Sony Award. As an actor, Toby has appeared in Phoenix Nights, Holby City, An Adventure in Space and Time, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Casualty plus the 2020 feature film Six Minutes to Midnight. Annette Badland is an English actress best known for her roles as Mae the Landlady in Ted Lasso, Charlotte in Bergerac, Margaret Blaine in Doctor Who, Mrs Glenna Fitzgibbons in Outlander, Babe Smith in EastEnders and as Dr Fleur Perkins in Midsomer Murders. Paul Hendy is a script-writer, novelist, director, producer and filmmaker. In his early career, he was a TV presenter hosting the BAFTA nominated Dear Mr Barker, Don’t Try This at Home with Davina McCall, The Disney Club and Wheel of Fortune. He was a regular reporter on ITV’s This Morning and hosted ‘Stash the Cash’. In 2017 Paul wrote, produced and directed a short film The Last Laugh which sees three legendary British comedians in a dressing room discussing the secret of comedy and what it means to be funny. It won 'Best Film' at Manchester Film Festival, 'Special Audience Award' at Oxford Film Festival and 'Best Comedy Drama' at The Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. Paul has adapted The Last Laugh into a play which will debut at The Edinburgh Festival 24. In 2005, Paul set up Evolution Productions with his wife, Emily Wood. It produces film and theatre in the UK and abroad including award winning pantomimes across the UK .

Georgina Hayden is a cook, food writer and stylist. She writes for publications such as The Telegraph, Delicious Magazine and Observer Food Monthly, and in 2021 she won the Fortnum & Mason Best Cookery Writer Award for her work in Waitrose Food magazine. She has appeared on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, and regularly appears on This Morning, Sunday Brunch Saturday Kitchen. Georgina worked for Jamie Oliver’s food team for 12 years where she did everything from styling, developing and writing recipes for books and TV. Her first book, Stirring Slowly, was published in 2016, followed by the book about the food of her Cypriot family, Taverna, in 2019. Her third book, Nistisima was a Sunday Times bestseller and was voted Best Cookbook at the OFM and Fortnum & Mason Awards. Her latest book, Greekish, is Inspired by her Greek-Cypriot roots and Greek travels.

Carol Drinkwater is a British actress and best-selling author. Probably best known for playing Helen Herriot in the television adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small, which led to her receiving the Variety Club Television Personality of the Year award in 1985. She was a member of the National Theatre Company under the leadership of Laurence Olivier and won a Critics' Circle Best Screen Actress award for her role in the feature film Father. She’s also been in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, Chocky, The Sweeney, Queen Kong, The Shout and the film adaptation of Beryl Bainbridge's novel An Awfully Big Adventure starring Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman. Astrophysicist Professor Chris Lintott is the primary presenter of the BBC’s The Sky at Night, having previously been co-presenter with Patrick Moore until Moore's death in 2012. He co-authored Bang! – The Complete History of the Universe and The Cosmic Tourist with Patrick Moore and Queen guitarist and astrophysicist Brian May. He has recently been appointed the 39th Professor of Astronomy at Gresham College in London which was founded in 1597. At the same time Chris is Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Oxford and a Research Fellow at New College. Chris Lintott is the co-founder of zooniverse.org, the world’s largest and most popular platform for people-powered research and which was the topic of his first book, ‘The Crowd and the Cosmos’. His latest book, Our Accidental Universe: Stories of Discovery from Asteroids to Aliens, is a tour of the key astronomical events of the past century, and of all the accidents and human error involved in our pursuit of asteroids, radio waves, new stars and alien life .

Nick Newman is Ian Hislop’s writing partner and the award winning Sunday Times cartoonist. He has worked for Private Eye since 1981 and has been the cartoonist for The Sunday Times since 1989. He was The Cartoon Art Trust’s Cartoonist of the Year in 1997, 1998, 2005 and 2016 and he won the Sports Journalists’ Association’s Cartoonist of the Year award in 2005, 2007 and 2009. Nick’s scriptwriting career with Ian Hislop includes Spitting Image (from 1984-89), Dawn French’s Murder Most Horrid, The Harry Enfield Show (with the creation of Tim Nice-But-Dim), the BBC1 film Gobble and the sitcom My Dad’s the Prime Minister. In 2008 their film A Bunch of Amateurs starring Burt Reynolds was chosen for the Royal Film Performance, before being adapted for the stage. In 2014 their film The Wipers Times won the Broadcast Press Guild Award for best single drama and was nominated for a BAFTA, before its stage adaptation and sell-out tour .

Ann Bryson is a very old friend of Mike's and was half of the comedy duo the Flaming Hamsters with a past guest of ours, Sara Crowe, and together they were the Philadelphia cheese advert girls for many years. She was also on television and on film in One Foot In The Grave, KYTV, City Lights, Only Fools and Horses, Inspector Morse, Hale and Pace, Doctor Who, The Steal, All About Me, Days Like These, Sometime Never, Space Vets and The Best of Rory Bremner. This episode was recorded over 4 years ago as a pilot which we didn’t think would ever go out. We recently listened to it again and enjoyed so asked our Acast+ listeners if we should put it out. Maisie Adam is comedian who is fast becoming a household name who has appeared on Live At The Apollo, A League Of Their Own, Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You, QI, Roast Battle, 8 Out of 10 Cats and the Royal Variety Performance. Since winning the nationwide So You Think You’re Funny? competition in 2017, she has won Best New Act at the Chortle Awards and the Amused Moose National New Act gong, as well as being nominated Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe for her debut show ‘Vague’. Luke Kempner is currently staring in Les Misérables in the West End playing Monsieur Thenardier but Luke is also well known for being a comedian and impressionist at the top of his game. Last year saw Luke voice over 30 puppets in the West End production of Spitting Image: Idiots Assemble, including King Charles, Prince Harry, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Jurgen Klopp and many more. His TV credits include Spitting Image, Steph’s Packed Lunch, The Last Leg, Love Island: Aftersun, The Stand Up Sketch Show and CelebAbility. Tom Shakespeare CBE is Professor of Disability Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and was the 2020 Swarthmore Lecturer. Tom has achondroplasia and uses a wheelchair. He is a social scientist and bioethicist who has worked particularly on disability and on genetics. His books include Disability Rights and Wrongs, Genetic Politics, and Disability – the Basics. Tom has presented programmes and documentaries on BBC Radio and has written for publications including The Guardian and The Lancet, alongside talking to academic, professional and lay audiences around the world. In July 2018 Shakespeare was elected a Fellow of the British Academy. He has been a stand-up comedian, an actor, a dancer, and an artist. His latest book is his first novel, The Ha-Ha .

Professor Sophie Scott is a neuroscientist and the Director of the Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience. Her research investigates the cognitive neuroscience of voices, speech and laughter, particularly speech perception, production, vocal emotions and human communication Sophie started her research career in Cambridge at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit She was awarded a Wellcome Trust Fellowship in 2001 and has been funded by them since. As of 2017 she holds a Wellcome Trust Senior Fellowship. She is a member of the British Psychological Society, the Society for Neuroscience, the Cognitive Neuroscience Society, and the Experimental Psychology Society. She’s a Fellow of the British Academy. Sophie is known for her public engagement work, including performing standup comedy. She’s been a panel guest several times on BBC Radio 4 programme The Infinite Monkey Cage and appeared on the BBC TV series Horizon, The Science of Laughter with Jimmy Carr. Sophie presented the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures in 2017 entitled The Language of Life which explored the topic of communication. She’s published several books including, The Brain: 10 Things You Should Know. She’s a Fellow of the British Academy and was awarded a CBE in the 2020 Birthday Honours for services to neuroscience .

Jon Holmes is a comedian, writer, presenter, producer and broadcaster who has won two BAFTAs, nine Gold Sony Radio Awards and two British Comedy Awards. Lewis MacLeod is a Scottish actor best known for voicing characters and his impressions. Jess Conrad has been ‘the vainest man in showbiz’ self styled since the 1950’s, having been a pop star, a film star, a star of the West End, a TV star and a cabaret star. Professor Alice Roberts is and academic and presenter who has presented more than a hundred television documentaries, ranging across human biology, history and archaeology. Her longest running series, BBC Two’s Digging for Britain has been going strong for more than ten years. She first appeared on television in 2001, as a human bone specialist on Channel 4’s Time Team. Chloe Petts is one of the most exciting stand-ups on the circuit. She is an alumna of the prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve, has been shortlisted for the BBC Comedy Award, was a finalist of Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Awards 2017, came runner-up in the Funny Women Awards 2017 and supported Ed Gamble on his 2022 UK Tour. Ed Patrick is a comedian, author and NHS anaesthetist. He has performed across the UK, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. George Monbiot is an Orwell Prize winning journalist and environmental activist. Larry Dann is a British actor best known for his roles in the Carry On... Series and for appearing as Sergeant Alec Peters in over 200 episodes of The Bill. His first appearance on screen was in Adam and Evelyn at age 5. Afterward, he would appear in Carry On Teacher, Trouble in Store and The Bulldog Breed. He continued appearing in films as he grew up, appearing in What a Crazy World, All Neat in Black Stockings, The Body Stealers and Before Winter Comes and rejoined the Carry On... Series with small roles in Carry On Behind and Carry On England before playing the young romantic lead in Carry On Emmannuelle. Ricky Sim is a lawyer-turned-comedian originally from Kuala Lumpur and currently living in New York City. As a comedy writer, Ricky was selected to be the 2021 recipient of The PIT/Saturday Night Live (SNL) Scholarship. With the comedy pilot that he co-wrote, he was selected as the 2023 Fellow of the Yes And…Laughter Lab, which is a competitive incubation lab, pitch program and showcase that lifts up the best comedy writers and performers who create new comedy about topics that matter, with a focus on BIPOC, immigrant, Muslim, LGBTQ and female talent. As somebody being born with cleft-palate and a gay immigrant who grew up in a working-class neighbourhood of Queens NY, Ricky is passionate about writing and highlighting complex stories and struggles that are usually underrepresented in the mainstream media .

Rob Auton is a stand-up comedian and writer who has written seven five star rated Edinburgh fringe shows. He has performed his unique brand of comedy on The Russell Howard Hour and on Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central. Rob released his book I Strongly Believe in Incredible Things with Harper Collins in 2021 to critical acclaim and has had three collections of writing and illustrations published by Burning Eye books and has had his poetry turned into short films and shown on Channel 4. As an actor he’s been in ITV’s Cold Feet, The End of The F***ing World on Netflix/Channel 4 and Miracle Workers on TBS. BAFTA-winning comedian Iain Stirling is best known as the voice of the hit reality show Love Island, which is now in its 8th series. Iain appeared in series 8 of Taskmaster and took on the role of host for ITV2’s comedy entertainment show, CelebAbility (now in its fifth series). Steve Nallon is a writer and actor best known for voicing Spitting Image’s most iconic characters, including Margaret Thatcher, Alan Bennett and The Queen Mum. Steve's acting work now ranges from theatre, film and television, to video games, radio drama and audio books. As a playwright and comedy writer, Steve has a considerable body of credits to his name, including plays and series for BBC radio, three one-man theatre shows and the satirical book I, Margaret, which he co-wrote with Tom Holt.
