Pregnant mothers look forward to baby showers. It's a time to celebrate the upcoming birth in the nesting that takes place right before it happens. However, during that time the mother can sometimes be forgotten. Let's talk about that, and how we can make it better for Mom.

It's time to start thinking about making meals for going outside with the children. Actually, with families. And when you're going out with families, or even a group of friends, or a mom Meetup group, it's always fun to make enough for everyone. But when you're making a lot of food, simple and easy is best. Let's talk about tea towels. Often mistaken to be interchangeable with dish towels, they are not the same. There are so many ways to use them, and we're going to get into a few. Sometimes appearances can deceive the eye, and goldthread at first may trick you into thinking its leaves are strawberry. But a closer look reveals a completely different plant and story. Let's share some things about an old plant that needs new ears. Coptis groenlandica is an awesome little plant. Sometimes it's good to get back to basics. And if you're cooking from home, a well stocked spice cabinet can be the difference between bland and fabulous. Simple dishes can be made into something memorable by adding the right spices. In this episode we're going to go over the basic things that most people would like to have in their cabinet. They are not expensive, and should be accessible. In another episode, we're going to go over some of the more unusual spices.

If you are a fan of lemony flavors, pickles, and squash, this is the recipe for you! This is one of my original recipes, and I wanted to share it with you because I'm planting lemon verbena. Or actually, my husband Planted lemon verbena. But I helped. We have a stash of lemon verbena that could terrify most herbalists. And that's partly because I use it for my asthma. But eating things flavored with it is even more delightful. Let's get started.
