Snohomish G.C. a noble track hidden in the Pacific Northwest built and operated by the same family since the 1960's. Big Chris chats with Ben Richards the General Manager and son of the man that built and designed the course and many others in the PNW. Ben and his wife, who run's the social media for the course are exactly what golf needs to grow this game. We talk everything from the evolving state of golf, course maintenance, layout and so much more.

This week, Big Chris gets beat up by our arch nemesis Peter fucking Jacobson at his design of Stone Creek in Oregon City. He also gets a nice leisurely round with his dad at his home track in Lacey, Washington at the Hawks Prairie "Links Course". While Ashton gets saucy with his takes on the dilapidated remains of what was a true Alister MacKenzie design Sharp Park in Pacifica, CA.

Ashton checks in with friend of the pod Nick Bertasi (from episode 11) on the golf scene in San Diego. Balboa Park Golf Course' front 9 plays in the canyon while the back 9 plays up and around the canyon. It places a premium on accuracy off the tee. Tecolote Canyon is an executive course with great greens and a solid driving range. We don't discuss this on the pod, but the course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Sam Snead! And then there's Admiral Baker Golf Course, located on a naval base with two 18 hole courses. This has become Nick's go to course with its solid conditions, generous fairways and good greens. The website they use to book tee times on can be a bit tough to navigate, but it's worth the extra effort.

Ashton and friend of the pod Chris Hussey do a deep dive on two insanely different tracks, Metropolitan Golf Links (Oakland, CA) and The Course at Wente Vineyards (Livermore, CA). Metro was designed by Johnny Miller, plays as a links-style course, has excellent views of downtown San Francisco and is adjacent to the Oakland airport so planes are constantly flying overhead. Wente was designed by Greg Norman and has some unbelievable views, especially from scenic vistas overlooking both the course and the vines. It definitely feels like a place where a golf course was never meant to go which gives players some challenging shots. If you don't execute at Wente, you're going to get lit on fire.

On this week's pod, Big Chris catches Ashton up on his continued heater. Since the last recording, Chris has played Elk RIdge Golf Course (which he mistakenly calls Eagle Ridge Golf Course on the pod), Sah-Hah-Lee Golf Course & Meriwether National Golf Club.

They met Kris while they were playing at Coos and can confirm that she can golf her ball. She shares her unique perspective as an extremely tenured female caddy, how she fell in love with the game and which of the courses at Bandon she loves the most.

Chris and Ashton have an extended conversation with the one and only Todd Schuster bka "Tron Carter" from No Laying Up. They go deep into all things public golf including why public golf is a tough scene in Atlanta, how we can make golf more accessible to all and dive into some of Tron's favorite places to play, with a special focus on how his hom course, Jax Beach, went from a money pit to a revenue generator. We also have a "What's in the bag?" segment where Tron walks us through what he's playing now that's switched back to his righty set and reminiscences about the clubs he played as a kid. Coos Golf Club is located five miles south of Coos Bay along Hwy. 101 (milepost 243.5) on Coos Sumner Lane, just 20 minutes north of the Bandon, OR.

Formerly known as Coos Country Club, the course has offered spectacular golf on the Southern Oregon coast since 1923. The original 9 holes were designed by H. Chandler Egan, and the back 9 designed by Bill Robinson in 1998.

The course was purchased by Andre and Karissa Liloc in 2017. Coos Golf Club serves the Coos Bay, North Bend and Bandon area, providing great golf for locals and visitors.

We then spent a 36-hole day on the Golf Club at Terra Lago (Indio). Our last stop was at Ram's Hill (Borrego Springs).
