Episode 482: Lone Wolf McQuade (1983)09 Jul 202600:57:46
They mess with his friend, his daughter, his wolf and his lady. Now they must all pay!
Episode 481: The Art Of Dying (1991)02 Jul 202600:50:20
Wings Hauser never disappoints! This 90's noir style crime drama is bad but is it horrible? Directed by Hauser and you can tell by giving himself sex scenes and macho dialogue.
Episode 480: Angel II Avenging Angel (1985)25 Jun 202600:52:46
A hooker, a cowboy, and a Jewish dyke? Joey and Scott round up the usual ragtag bunch of misfit vigilantes in this unexpectedly goofy eighties exploitation sequel.
Episode 479: Psych-Out (1968)11 Jun 202600:40:50
Jack Nicholson, Bruce Dern, and Dean Stockwell let their Freak Flags fly in this gritty look at the psychedelic sixties.
Episode 478: The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane (1990)28 May 202600:58:46
Hickory Dickory Dock! Joey and Scott went up a hill to review an Andrew Dice Clay film. OH!!!
Episode 477: Watch Me When I Kill (1977)14 May 202600:36:14
Joey and Scott review a somewhat lackluster Giallo, although it's nowhere near as weird as Death Laid an Egg.
Episode 476: Nightbreed (1990)07 May 202600:53:54
Scott saw this in the theater 35 years ago and hated it. Will watching all three versions of the film change his mind?
Episode 475: The Delta Force (1986)30 Apr 202600:52:33
Joey and Scott commemorate the life of recently deceased action star Chuck Norris by watching one of the films that launched his ass-kicking career.
Episode 474: Alien Romulus (2024)26 Mar 202600:38:40
What Joey felt was a solid good film in the Alien franchise, Scott did not. For any mistakes it may have, it's better than anything Alien based in a while.
Episode 473: Gamer (2009)19 Mar 202601:09:13
A film that tries too hard to be edgy and cool along with high velocity action scenes. Nearly everything in this movie doesn't work. Dexter and Leonidas can't save this one.
Episode 472: Oscar Talk: Oscar Predictions (2026)12 Mar 202600:54:30
This is our prediction episode. Scott and Joey go over every category and pick their winners. We'll see who wins the following week!
Episode 471: Oscar Talk: The Secret Agent (2025)26 Feb 202600:31:31
An excellent film that we're happy to see the recognition it deserves. Films like this were able to get nominated because voters didn't buy the Wicked or Avatar hype.
Episode 470: Oscar Talk: One Battle After Another (2025)26 Feb 202600:36:23
The inevitable Best Picture winner in my opinion. Scott thinks so too. One of Paul Thomas Anderson's best, if not his best film to date.
Episode 469: Oscar Talk: F1 (2025)19 Feb 202600:25:01
The only true blue popcorn film on the list. A surprise that it's nominated for Best Picture but after watching you see why. A fun and thrilling film from beginning to end.
Episode 468: Oscar Talk: Marty Supreme (2025)19 Feb 202600:54:27
Loosely based or more accurately inspired by the real Mary Reisman, Marty Supreme is another excellent film by Josh Safdie. He's capable of getting just about any performance he needs from just about anyone.
Episode 467: Oscar Talk: Hamnet (2025)12 Feb 202600:28:19
The story of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes after the loss of their son due to the black plague. Another extremely well made movie. I expect Jesse Buckley to walk away with the little golden man.
Episode 466: Oscar Talk: Train Dreams (2025)12 Feb 202600:30:21
Deeply depressing and sad film. Tells the story of logger through his life and all the happiness (not much) sadness, trauma and heartache along the way. Scott cried, Joey didn't.
Episode 464: Oscar Talk: Bugonia (2025)05 Feb 202600:39:20
A remake of the 2003 South Korean film Save The Green Planet! Lots to praise here but will it win best picture or any other nominations? Realistically not.
Episode 465: Oscar Talk: Sentimental Value (2025)05 Feb 202600:31:58
A very well made movie. A little too much hype though. Better films could have been nominated for Best Picture in its spot.
Episode 463: Oscar Talk: Sinners (2025)29 Jan 202600:24:45
Sinners broke the record of 14 oscar nominations with 16 this year. Joey doesn't feel it's best picture material even though he enjoyed it quite a bit. Scott feels it is. We both agree it's great though.
Episode 462: Oscar Talk: Frankenstein (2025)29 Jan 202600:34:45
Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is as beautiful as it is a masterpiece. There isn't much wrong with this film but will it win Best Picture? We don't think so. If Guillermo hadn't won already for Shape Of Water it might have.
Episode 461: Oscar Nominations (2025)22 Jan 202600:59:01
We talk about all the Oscar nominated films for 2025. What will win, what will not. Who's right?
Episode 460: Society (1989)15 Jan 202600:55:48
Brian Yuzna's 80's horror classic wasn't released in America for nearly 3 years. I can see why people were afraid of this film as it's one of the best body horror movies to come out in that time period. It's not perfect but you should still check it out.
Episode 459: Ultraviolet (2006)08 Jan 202600:45:36
Pretending to be a comic book wrapped in a sci-fi action film in one of the worst renditions around. The action scenes are formulaic and so bad it feels like a workprint. The story is thin and the concept is frustrating.
Episode 458: Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls (1970)05 Dec 202501:00:41
Directed by Russ Meyer and written by Roger Ebert, a film about making it in the 70's as a rock band and all that goes with it. It's tastes like the 60's so much I was looking for Austin Powers the whole time.
Episode 457: The Lawnmower Man (1992)13 Nov 202500:39:36
Loosely based on the Stephen King short story is highly inaccurate. Director's cut is a better movie but still only average.
Episode 456: Alley Cat (1984)30 Oct 202500:38:25
Part 70's exploitation, part vigilante, part female prison, part court drama, part karate but ALL ALLEY CAT! Not a great film by any means but damn does it hit all the "so bad it’s good" vibes.
Episode 455: Death Laid An Egg (1968)16 Oct 202500:40:49
A Giallo esque style film. Nothing really horrifying from this movie at all. Except, except for the animal cruelty. If that bothers you, stay far away.
Episode 454: Castle Freak (1995)02 Oct 202500:39:10
When your producer says that you have create control of the film except that it has to involve a castle AND a freak, you do it! Stuart Gordon's Castle Freak is better than you expect.
Episode 453: Replicant (2001)18 Sep 202500:44:05
When a serial killer (JCVD) keeps killing "Bad Mothers" a secret agency decides to create a replica of him to track him down. Surprisingly not the worst JCVD movie out there. Just saying.
Episode 452: Death Dimension (1978)21 Aug 202500:32:18
When you think Exploitation, you think films like this. Terrible acting, terribly filmed and quite honestly a plot that doesn't try too hard and it shows. Needless to say, you still kinda dig it.
Episode 451: Buzzard (2014)14 Aug 202500:35:10
While a very low budget film, it has its moments and delivers on exactly what it is. What can be considered a character study, it's not always enjoyable but that's not really the point.
Episode 450: Rabid Grannies (1988)07 Aug 202500:40:15
Troma only distributed this film when it came out. Do yourself a favor and watch the uncut version that's now on DVD and Bluray. Not amazing but better than you're expecting.
Episode 449: Fatal Games (1983)03 Jul 202500:34:29
While not up to the standard of many horror slasher films from the 80s, it does have a couple of good kills. Not a must see but probably not the worst Friday night you'll ever have.
Episode 448: The Vagrant (1992)26 Jun 202500:43:32
A little unknown Dark Comedy gem released during the dog days of Summer in 1992. If you've never seen it, check it out. It's even produced by Mel Brooks.
Episode 447: Cube (1997)08 May 202500:31:36
While many sequels and a reboot has spawned, the best film is still the first one. Scott and Joey review this 90's classic.
Episode 446: The Island Of Dr. Moreau (1996)01 May 202500:48:26
Doomed from the beginning, Dr Moreau is exactly what you don't want to get out of hand on set. From hard to work with actors and even mother nature.
Episode 445: Hellbound (1994)17 Apr 202500:37:50
The last film made by Cannon and man, does it sure feel like it. Movie studios don't fail Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris fails movie studios.
Episode 444: The Fantastic Four (1994)03 Apr 202500:43:06
Back in 1994, they tried to make a Fantastic Four movie. This is the product of that. It was never released, for good reason.
Episode 443: After Midnight (1989)27 Mar 202500:44:46
A remake of the 1945 film Dead Of Night. Told in anthology style. Mediocre at best. Much better horror movies in the 80s.
Episode 442: I Am Here...Now (2009)20 Mar 202500:41:59
There really is nowhere to begin with this. How bad it truly is, on every level. Does it even fill that bad movie void?
Episode 441: Oscar Talk: Oscar Wrap-Up 202506 Mar 202500:44:45
While Scott picked the right film to win Best Picture, Joey ran away with the win for the most correct answers! We also spin the wheel for a new film to review!
Episode 440: Oscar Talk: Oscar Predictions 202527 Feb 202500:39:34
Scott and Joey go over all the nominations and make their prediction ahead of the 2025 Academy Awards! Who will win? Who gets bragging rights?
Episode 439: Oscar Talk: A Complete Unknown (2024)27 Feb 202500:22:16
A very young Dylan makes it into the Folk scene and quickly becomes famous. He's not able to handle it all too well as it ruins his relationships and nearly his music career. Well made.
Episode 438: Oscar Talk: The Brutalist (2024)20 Feb 202500:54:31
When Laszlo (Brody) comes to America alone to restart his life, nothing is easy. You see why he turns to alcohol and drugs. Why he's talented but throwing it away. No one ever seems to be what they say they are.
Episode 437: Oscar Talk: Conclave (2024)13 Feb 202500:18:16
Surprisingly well made and gripping film. The score alone should win an Oscar as it keeps this movie moving. While the film is good, with the score it's a much better movie.
Episode 436: Oscar Talk: Nickel Boys (2024)13 Feb 202500:30:39
Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Nickel Boys tells the story of two boys growing up in a reform school in Florida.
Episode 435: Oscar Talk: Anora (2024)06 Feb 202500:27:39
Another film that starts one way and pivots into something else. It's works so well that we thought we'd go in hating this film and came out enjoying it quite a bit.
Episode 434: Oscar Talk: Emilia Perez (2024)06 Feb 202500:40:42
Another musical in this year's Oscar list. Was Hollywood tricked into nominating this? We think so. So, so BAD.
Episode 433: Oscar Talk: The Substance (2024)28 Jan 202500:31:44
This could possibly be Joey's favorite film from 2024. It's a huge achievement that it was even nominated for best picture given how the movie starts and how it ends.
