Matthew W. Bates (Ph.D., University of Notre Dame) is Associate Professor of Theology at Quincy University. His main teaching area is the Bible and early Christian literature. He also teaches courses in Western Religion, Church History, and Christian Spirituality. Dr. Bates is an award-winning author. His popular and influential books include Gospel Allegiance (Brazos, 2019), Salvation by Allegiance Alone (Baker Academic, 2017), and The Birth of the Trinity (Oxford University Press, 2015). Current book projects on salvation and christology are underway. Dr. Bates also co-hosts OnScript, a Bible and theology podcast. He enjoys family life, hiking, baseball, and good conversation. Cory has been a pastor and leader in the church for 15 years, and has been actively engaged in Disciple Making Movement ministry for the past 6 years. His mentors include catalysts from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East, which led him to pursue ministry “on the margins.” In the last couple of years Cory has helped catalyze movement activity in the local county jails where they’ve see hundreds of inmates come to Jesus by empowering ‘insiders’ to gather others and discovery God together. Kent Parks is President and CEO of Beyond. Kent and his wife Erika worked among Muslims in Asia for 20 years. They regularly lead church planting movement trainings around the world. He also equips people to better understand mission strategy, and biblical theology of missions. Previously, he served as a strategy coordinator focused on catalyzing Disciple-making Movements among unreached people groups (UPGs) in Southeast Asia. He continues to help facilitate various trans-national, trans-organizational networks focused on Unreached People Groups (UPGs), including serving as Co-Facilitator for Ethne, a global UPG network and as one of the leaders in the 2414 Initiative which is focused on launching “Book of Acts” movements in every unreached people and place. Kent pastored in Texas for seven years before going to the mission field. He has been a seminary professor and the academic dean of a seminary and has also taught internationally in graduate schools. He earned his B.A. in English and History from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas as well as his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Chris Galanos is the Founding Pastor of Experience Life Church in Lubbock, TX, which is now a network of many churches meeting across the nation. He graduated from Southwestern Seminary in 2006 and then started Experience Life in his living room in the Spring of 2007. In the first 10 years of Experience Life’s history, God allowed the church to help over 13,000 people commit their lives to Christ & baptize over 7,000 people. Toward the end of the first 10 years, the Lord began to give Chris & the eLife Leadership Team the vision of seeing 1,000,000 disciples made in the next 10 years. They knew that their strategy for making disciples would have to change. The story of Experience Life’s transition from a “megachurch” model to a “multiplication” model is detailed in his new book, From Megachurch to Multiplication. In the last few years, he and his team have started over 25 churches in 12 states, launched over 200+ Discovery Groups with streams down to the 2nd and even 4th generation, and trained over 700 disciple-makers & church planters across the country (even several in other countries). He spends a majority of his time training and coaching pastors across the nation that feel the Lord leading them in a similar direction as Experience Life along with helping give oversight to all the churches in the Experience Life network. He has been married to his wife, Emilie, for 15 years and he has 2 children, McKinley who is 13 and Charis who is 11.

David Young serves as the senior minister for the North Boulevard Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He has worked for churches in Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee, taught New Testament at several universities, and traveled widely teaching and preaching. He is the former host of the New Day Television Program, a board member for the Renew Network, and the author of several books, including A New Day (NB Press), The Rhetoric of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark, (Fortress Press, co-authored with Michael Strickland), A Grand Illusion (Renew Publications), and King Jesus and the Beauty of Obedience-Based Discipleship (Zondervan).
