Strack Racing's Mathew Scholtz heads to Circuit of The Americas in Austin Texas, next week with a 25-point lead in the 2024 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. Left without a ride when the Westby Racing Superbike team folded at the end of last season, Scholtz took a step back to race in the Supersport class. And it's worked to perfection. The South African, who now calls Georgia home, has won seven races and has stood on the podium in 13 of 14 races. He's also had some battles royale with his rival in the title chase, PJ Jacobsen. We caught up with Scholtz prior to the final two rounds of the title chase to talk about his season, the rivalry with Jacobsen, his past, and his future on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.

Minnesotan Justin Miest will make his 2024 Stock 1000 debut next weekend, June 14-15, at his home track of Brainerd International Raceway and going into this podcast we honestly didn't know much more about him than that. We knew he was fifth in the Stock 1000 race at Road America last year, but that was about it. Miest changed all that in this week's Off Track With Carruthers And Bice as we delved into his racing career, his working life and his new company.
| #194 Wayne Rainey | 21 Jul 2022 | 01:00:43 | |
Three-time 500cc World Champion and MotoAmerica Wayne Rainey really needs no introduction so we'll jump right into it. The boys were fortunate enough to tie Rainey down for this week's episode of the Off Track With Carruthers And Bice podcast with a not-so-quick chat in which Rainey talked about his recent trip to England for the Goodwood Festival Of Speed, his ride on his 1992 World Championship-winning Yamaha YZR500, MotoAmerica's growth, and much more. Give it a listen.
| #193 Chuck Giacchetto | 14 Jul 2022 | 00:51:40 | |
If you want to know what's going on in the MotoAmerica paddock, you go see Chuck. Who is fighting with whom? Go see Chuck. We caught up with Giacchetto for this week's episode of the Off Track With Carruthers And Bice podcast and we turned him loose. In fact, we barely had to ask any questions.
| #192 Kenny Roberts | 07 Jul 2022 | 00:48:23 | |
You just never know who you're gonna run into when you venture to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for a MotoAmerica event. Well, Carruthers and Bice struck oil on move-in day when they not only found three-time World Champion Kenny Roberts Sr. but were able to wrangle him into joining them for a sit-down interview for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers and Bice. Roberts doesn't mince his words and he had plenty to say about myriad of subjects, including his recent trip to England to ride up the hill at Goodwood with his former rider Wayne Rainey.
| #191 Carruthers And Bice | 01 Jul 2022 | 00:51:59 | |
This week the boys are going it alone with a 'We don't need no stinkin' guest" episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice. The dynamic duo chat about all things MotoAmerica with the series reaching its halfway mark and a trip to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca just around the corner. Carruthers also has to get on a knee and apologize to Bice, but you'll have to listen to see what that's all about. So here we go... the 191st episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice. "Guestless in Seattle?"

| #188 Mathew Scholtz | 02 Jun 2022 | 00:31:09 | |
Westby Racing's Mathew Scholtz rolls into Road America this weekend trailing Danilo Petrucci by just four points in the MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike Championship. Although he's happy with where he sits in the title chase, Scholtz isn't stoked on the five second-place finishes on his scorecard. He'd like to fix that this weekend. We chatted with Scholtz about the desire to win, racing a Superbike in the MotoAmerica Championship, the last round at VIRginia International Raceway and more in this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #187 Corey Alexander | 27 May 2022 | 00:53:44 | |
Corey Alexander won the opening round of the MotoAmerica Yuasa Stock 1000 Championship at Road Atlanta after a race-long battle with his friend and fellow JP43 instructor Michael Gilbert. The new Tytler Cycle team, of which Alexander is a big part, tasted success again when fill-in rider Kyle Wyman rode PJ Jacobsen's BMW to third in the Medallia Superbike race. The team left Georgia on a high. Unfortunately, things changed at VIRginia International Raceway when Alexander had a big crash that left him concussed and forced to watch the two Yuasa Stock 1000 races from the sidelines. Alexander is hopeful of being ready to take to the track again next weekend when the series visits Road America. We chatted with Alexander about his accident, his victory and much more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.

| #184 Joe Roberts | 06 May 2022 | 00:40:40 | |
On April 24, Joe Roberts became the first American since John Kocinski in 1990 to win an intermediate class Grand Prix when he took victory in the Grand Prix of Portugal at Portimao. The win was Roberts' first in World Championship racing and to say it lifted a gorilla-sized monkey from his back would be an understatement. With 15 rounds to go in the battle for the Moto2 World Championship, Roberts not only finds himself as a Grand Prix winner he also sits fifth in the title chase. We caught up with Roberts from his in-season home on the coast of Spain to talk about his victory and more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #183 Kayla Yaakov | 28 Apr 2022 | 00:50:19 | |
Kayla Yaakov is a rising star in the MotoAmerica paddock and a force to be reckoned with in the SportbikeTrackGear.com Junior Cup class on her Altus Motorsports Kawasaki Ninja 400. Currently third in the championship point standings after the opening two races of the season at Road Atlanta, Yaakov looked to have her first career victory in the class before being docked two positions for passing under a yellow flag. Still, she was third and was on the Junior Cup podium for the second time in her young career. Intelligent and well-spoken beyond her 14 years, it was a treat to catch up with her for a chat on this week's Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #182 Travis Wyman | 21 Apr 2022 | 00:33:08 | |

| #181 Michael Gilbert | 14 Apr 2022 | 00:50:18 | |
Team owner/racer Michael Gilbert finished fourth in last year's MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship, missing out on second in the title chase by just five points, and he also finished fourth in the Superbike Cup. Last week in Texas, Gilbert's team rolled into Circuit of The Americas in style with its 18-wheeler nicely wrapped with team sponsors Cycle World powered by Octane and Chuckwalla Racing prominently on display for all to see. Now a premier MotoAmerica Superbike team, Gilbert will compete in both Stock 100 and MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike in 2022 and he will do so with a big presence in paddock. | #179 PJ Jacobsen | 01 Apr 2022 | 00:35:48
There's nothing like a second chance and PJ Jacobsen is getting that in 2022 as he comes off a season without racing to jump smack dab in the deep end with a return to action in the MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike Championship. Jacobsen will ride for the new Tytlers Cycle Racing team aboard a brand-new BMW M 1000 RR . With gobs of experience earned in the World Supersport and World Superbike Championship as well as a runner-up finish in the 2019 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship, Jacobsen will be looking to draw from that experience to take full advantage of his second chance. We caught up with Jacobsen the week prior to his MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike debut at Circuit of The Americas to chat about his newest challenge.
| #178 Jeremy McWilliams | 19 Mar 2022 | 00:54:58 | |
Jeremy McWilliams has finished on the podium in two 500cc Grands Prix. He's also won a 250cc Grand Prix. He's ridden for Kenny Roberts' GP team and even put the KR3 on pole position for the Australian Grand Prix in 2002. He's also dabbled in British Superbike, ridden an Aprilia Cube in MotoGP and has won races at the Northwest 200. Oh, and then there's that movie gig with Scarlett Johansson. A rider blessed with not only speed but with the technical ability to develop motorcycles, McWilliams has a long and on-going relationship with KTM to help them develop new motorcycles. His resume is both impressive and long. Well, now the 57-year-old Ulsterman can add this to the list of accomplishments: Mission King Of The Baggers Daytona winner. We caught up with McWilliams to discuss a bit of everything on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #177 Nolan Lamkin | 16 Mar 2022 | 00:41:09 | |
Nolan Lamkin has been racing in the MotoAmerica Championship since the series began in 2015, and we've watched the Indianapolis native grow as a person and as a road racer. Despite only being 21 years old, Lamkin is a "thinking man's" rider who understands all aspects of the sport. And, this year, he's put together a Stock 1000 program where he will be aboard a BMW S 1000 RR with a brand-new-to-the-series title sponsor. Carruthers And Bice spent some quality time with "Indy" Lamkin in this episode of Off Track, so check it out. We know you'll enjoy what you hear.
| #176 Roland Sands | 09 Mar 2022 | 00:36:54 | |
Former racer Roland Sands has built himself a nice little business in Long Beach, California. You may have heard of it... Roland Sands Design. In addition to designing and manufacturing aftermarket parts, custom motorcycles and anything else him and his team come up with, Sands is also back to being a fixture at MotoAmerica races as he is not only fielding five bikes in the Mission King Of The Baggers races and the Roland Sands Design Super Hooligan National Championship, but he also produces the series that carries his name. We caught up with Sands for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to chat about his racing career, his successful business and everything in between.
| #175 Brandon Paasch | 02 Mar 2022 | 00:44:20 | |
After a season of Supersport racing in the British Superbike Series, Brandon Paasch is back where he belongs in 2022 with a return to the Auto Parts 4 Less MotoAmerica Championship. And he's also finally on a bike that fits him - the Altus Motorsports Suzuki GSX-R1000 he will race in Stock 1000 and Superbike Cup this season. But first things first - Daytona and the Daytona 200. Paasch will defend his reign as the 2021 Daytona 200 Champion this year on a TOBC Triumph 675 after winning last year's race on a Yamaha YZF-R6. We caught up with Paasch after a weekend of testing his Altus Suzuki to chat about the season ahead and the fast-approaching Daytona 200.
| #282 Michael Gilbert | 24 May 2024 | 00:41:08 | |
There's a good chance we won't see much of Michael Gilbert in the MotoAmerica Championship in 2024 as he and his brother have taken over the running of the family business. That being said, he has leathers, a helmet and a Honda Fireblade at his disposal just in case. And there's also the fact that Laguna Seca Raceway is only a five-or six-hour drive north from Gilbert's Southern California home. In the meantime, Gilbert is going racing in the World Endurance Championship round at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps - the Spa 8-Hour - and he will do so with two of his best friends - Jason Pridmore and Andrew Lee. We spoke with Gilbert about all that and more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #174 Bobby Fong | 26 Feb 2022 | 00:39:57 | |
Bobby Fong's career and life has changed a lot in the past few months. For starters, he won't be lining up on the MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike grid in 2022 as his career path has taken a turn with Fong taking a "real" job with Alpinestars. The 2019 MotoAmerica Supersport Champion is working for Alpinestars in their racer-support program and is currently traveling from Supercross to Supercross. In March, his work schedule will switch a bit more and he will be racing a Roland Sands Designs Indian in the MotoAmerica Mission King Of The Baggers season-opener at Daytona International Raceway. Following Daytona, Fong will compete in two more KOTB rounds while continuing his work with Alpinestars in the MotoAmerica paddock. Oh, and he also recently got engaged. We caught up with a busy Bobby Fong for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to talk about the many changes in his life.
| #173 Carl Soltisz | 17 Feb 2022 | 00:45:34 | |
With his first race coming at the age of 20, Carl Soltisz got a late start to the motorcycle racing game but he's trying to make up for lost time. In his first full season of MotoAmerica racing, Soltisz ended the season ranked ninth in the 2021 MotoAmerica Supersport Series with a best finish of seventh at Brainerd International Raceway. Soltisz doesn't lack for intelligence as he has a Master's Degree in both Engineering and Business Administration - both of which he puts to good use in his racing career. This coming season, Soltisz will compete in the Supersport class again - this time on a Disrupt Racing Suzuki GSX-R. We caught up with the Michigander to chat about his vast education, his career thus far, and the season ahead.
| #172 Jake Lewis | 10 Feb 2022 | 00:49:06 | |
Jake Lewis won six races en route to winning the 2021 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship (and the MotoAmerica Superbike Cup) on his Altus Motorsports Suzuki and his performance has paid off with a full-time return to the MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike series on the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team for 2022. Lewis got the call late in 2020 to ride for Altus in 2021, got himself off the couch and back into training, showed up and finished fourth in the first two races at Road Atlanta, then won his first race of the season in the next round at VIRginia International Raceway. From there he marched to the title with five more victories and a total of nine podiums. He also competed in the Superbike Cup and collected the $25,000 check for winning that as well. We caught up with Lewis to talk about his career renewal and his return to the Superbike class on a full-on Superbike in this week's Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #171 Hayden Gillim | 03 Feb 2022 | 00:51:19 | |
He's baaack. Last year, Hayden Gillim returned to the MotoAmerica paddock after what was basically a two-year hiatus to race a Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson in the Mission King Of The Baggers series and he finished third in the championship. He also dipped his toe in the water at Pitt Race with a one-off Stock 1000 ride. Despite missing practice and qualifying on Friday because he was at home in Kentucky working at his day job, Gillim put the Disrupt Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000 on the podium with his third-place finish. For 2022, Hayden will return to the MotoAmerica Series full time to compete in both the Medallia Superbike and Stock 1000 classes. We caught up with Gillim to chat about all of that on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #170 Kyle Wyman | 27 Jan 2022 | 00:48:36 | |
Harley-Davidson's Kyle Wyman will begin defense of his 2021 MotoAmerica Mission King Of The Baggers Championship in March with two races on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway. Although defending his title won't be easy as he finds himself in the midst of the Harley vs. Indian rivalry, Wyman should find the going a bit easier as he has disbanded his MotoAmerica Superbike team. We caught up with Wyman to discuss his dream ride with Harley-Davidson, the season past and the battle ahead in this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #169 Dominic Doyle | 19 Jan 2022 | 00:26:49 | |
South African Dominic Doyle joins us this week on Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to announce his plans for the 2022 MotoAmerica season and his decision to jump over to the Twins Cup class with BARTCON Racing. He talks about that and much more in episode #169.
| #168 Josh Herrin | 12 Jan 2022 | 00:50:40 | |
Talk about some changes... 2013 AMA Superbike Champion Josh Herrin is about to embark on a completely new adventure in the 2022 MotoAmerica Series as he switches classes, motorcycles and teams. Herrin will go from the MotoAmerica Superbike class to the MotoAmerica Supersport class and he will do so on a Ducati Panigale V2 with the Warhorse HSBK Ducati NY team. Herrin got the chance to ride his new steed recently at Daytona International Speedway, the home of the Daytona 200 and the place where he will make his debut on the bike in March. We talked to Herrin about the bike, the team, fatherhood and more in this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #167 Ben Gloddy and Teagg Hobbs | 05 Jan 2022 | 00:38:42 | |
Last year, Ben Gloddy landed on the SportbikeTrackGear.com Junior Cup podium 16 times, including his four victories. Teagg Hobbs ended his season ranked fourth in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup Championship with five podiums and two wins. For 2022, those two will be teammates as Gloddy moves to the Twins Cup class to join Hobbs on the Robem Engineering team where the pair will compete aboard Aprilia RS 660s. The new teammates joined Carruthers and Bice for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to talk about their new rides and much more.
| #166 Chuck Aksland | 30 Dec 2021 | 01:01:06 | |
We somehow corralled MotoAmerica COO Chuck Aksland into joining us for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to talk about his long history in the sport and his involvement in MotoAmerica. Aksland started out as a racer, moved into team management as the man behind Kenny Roberts's team when Roberts started building his own Grand Prix bikes, worked at Circuit of The Americas, and is now one of the four MotoAmerica partners. Aksland puts the A in KRAVE after joining forces with three-time 500cc World Champion Wayne Rainey, Terry Karges and Richard Varner in 2014 when MotoAmerica took over the AMA Superbike Series.
| #165 Matt Dunn | 21 Dec 2021 | 01:03:53 | |
If you watch the live coverage from Friday's free practice sessions of Moto2 and Moto3 on MotoGP's worldwide feed, you have heard commentary from Matt Dunn. If you watched the recent "Behind The Stars And Stripes" documentary on Joe Roberts and Cameron Beaubier and their 2021 Moto2 seasons, then you've seen Dunn's work. We caught up with Dunn from his home in Great Britain to get his insights into the Moto2 World Championship and his views on Roberts and Beaubier in this week's Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #281 Geoff May | 14 May 2024 | 00:40:39 | |

We often get the question: What's the most popular episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice thus far? The answer: Ben Spies. So for old time's sake, we're going to repost the Ben Spies episode, which was, believe it or not, just our 77th episode - 87 weeks ago.
| #163 Josh Hayes | 09 Dec 2021 | 00:51:02 | |
No matter how many times Josh Hayes is a guest on Off Track With Carruthers And Bice, he continues to amaze and tell us things we didn't know. This episode is no different. We chatted with the four-time AMA Superbike Champion about everything from his burning love for racing motorcycles, to his recent motocross escapades, to the meaning of the Daytona 200 and Daytona International Speedway, and so much more. Make sure you give this one a listen - even you Garrett Gerloff - and we promise you'll know more when you're finished than when you started.
| #162 Garrett Gerloff | 01 Dec 2021 | 00:58:50 | |
Garrett Gerloff is back in Texas after a difficult season in the 2021 World Superbike Championship, a season he'd probably like to do-over. Although he finished seventh in the World Championship in his sophomore season in the series, Gerloff's year was marred by the incidents he was involved in along the way, namely the crash at Assen where he cleaned out Yamaha's Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, the championship leader at the time and the man who would ultimately go on to win the World Superbike title. We caught up with Gerloff for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice and he spoke openly about his 2021 woes and the good memories as well while he champs at the bit to get started with a clean slate in 2022.
| #161 Jody Barry | 23 Nov 2021 | 00:27:39 | |
Jody Barry has raced in the MotoAmerica Championship since he was a young lad scrapping with his buddies in the KTM RC 390 Cup Series. Barry won twice in the class and had seven other podium finishes before moving up to the Supersport class in 2017. After finishing 15th in that championship, Barry went a bit AWOL as he focused his efforts on club racing. But that all changed this past season with Barry returning to the podium again in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup Series. With a win and five podiums, Barry finished the season ranked sixth in the championship and that would have been higher if not for his big crash at Road America. We caught up with Barry for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to chat with the Illinoian about his racing and his life.
| #160 Ed Sullivan | 17 Nov 2021 | 00:44:36 | |
If you spend any time at all hanging around the Westby Racing pit at a MotoAmerica event, you'll certainly see Ed Sullivan with his hands all over Mathew Scholtz's Yamaha YZF-R1. And if you don't see him initially, you'll likely hear a British accent coming from the team's awning at some point. That would be Sullivan. We caught up with the Westby Racing crew chief on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to discuss the team, Scholtz, the season past and Sullivan's plans to contest next year's Daytona 200 as a rider.
| #159 Jason Pridmore | 10 Nov 2021 | 00:54:00 | |
Jason Pridmore won two AMA Championships as a racer and since retirement has built his business JP43 Training into one of the most successful motorcycle training schools in the country. When he's not teaching others, Pridmore goes in front of the camera as the lead analyst on MotoAmerica broadcasts at each and every round of the MotoAmerica Championship. You might say that Pridmore knows a thing or two about motorcycle racing so Paul Carruthers and Sean Bice like to tap into that knowledge periodically and they did so again for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #158 Kaleb De Keyrel | 03 Nov 2021 | 00:43:11 | |
Kaleb De Keyrel finished second in the 2019 MotoAmerica Twins Cup Series and that set him up as the favorite to take the title in 2021. And he didn't disappoint. The Minnesotan, who now calls Houston, Texas, home, won five races and finished on the podium 10 times en route to the 2021 Twins Cup title on his Robem Engineering Aprilia RS 660. We caught up with De Kaleb to chat about the 2021 season, his recent trip to Italy, his future plans and more in this episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #157 Andrew Lee | 29 Oct 2021 | 00:30:28 | |
Two-time MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Champion Andrew Lee is ready to embark on a new project for 2022... the King Of The Baggers Championship. The Californian is set to do double duty in 2022 as he will continue to chase another Stock 1000 crown while also dipping his toe in the popular and expanded MotoAmerica King Of The Baggers Championship. We caught up with Lee during a break from testing and coaching at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Southern California to talk about his plans for 2022 as well as his 2021 season in this week's edition of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
| #156 Sam Lochoff | 22 Oct 2021 | 00:37:59 | |
If Sam Lochoff wasn't the surprise of the 2021 MotoAmerica Series, we're not sure who is. The young South African came into the Supersport class fresh off finishing third in the SportbikeTrackGear.com Junior Cup Championship where he had landed on the podium 13 times. But he didn't win. So who knew that Lochoff would be the revelation of the Supersport Series in his rookie season, finishing third in the championship and wait for it... winning a race? Yes, Lochoff won a Supersport race in his debut season, setting himself up as one of the favorites in 2022 - no matter what class he ends up racing in. We caught up with Lochoff for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to discuss the 2021 season and more.
| #155 Tige Daane | 16 Oct 2021 | 00:32:54 | |
It wouldn't be a reach to go ahead and label Tige Daane as the Sheriff in the MotoAmerica paddock. After all, the longtime paddock stalwart serves as Technical Director and that means he, along the FIM tech staff, helps formulate the technical rules used in the MotoAmerica Series. And when its time to go racing, Daane is the man who enforces those rules. If you roll into Parc Ferme and something's not right with your motorcycle, chances are Daane or one of his crew will find it. We caught up with Daane for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to discuss the new rules for the 2022 season and his role as Technical Director.
| #280 Jaret Nassaney | 10 May 2024 | 00:34:57 | |
It's not how you start, it's how you finish. Jaret Nassaney is definitely hoping that's the case as he heads to Barber Motorsports Park, May 17-19, with zero points in the bank after a difficult opening Supersport round at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. We chatted with Nassaney about his rough start, his interesting second career, the inner workings of Altus Motorsports, and more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers and Bice.
| #154 Cameron Beaubier | 09 Oct 2021 | 00:44:30 | |
It's been a trial by fire this year for five-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier, who is a rookie in the Moto2 World Championship. But, it all came together for him this past weekend at the Circuit of The Americas where track familiarity paid obvious dividends. Beaubier was our special guest on this episode of Off Track, and Carruthers and Bice talked with CB6 about topics ranging from how far he hangs off the bike, to what life is like in the World Championship paddock, to if he's nervous about his upcoming marriage in December.
| #153 Jon Cornwell | 06 Oct 2021 | 00:48:09 | |
Jon Cornwell has been around the block - as a top-notch flat tracker and road racer, a suspension tech, and a crew chief - and all that experience paid dividends for the Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha team this year as the Canadian helped guide Jake Gagne to the 2021 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship with an incredible 17 wins in 20 starts. We caught up with Cornwell to discuss his season with Gagne and his career, and both Carruthers and Bice came away from this episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice the wiser for it.
| #152 Carruthers And Bice | 25 Sep 2021 | 00:55:10 | |
Paul Carruthers and Sean Bice go it alone in this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice as they wrap up the recently concluded 2021 MotoAmerica Series with a look back at each of the classes and the thrilling (and very wet) season finale at Barber Motorsports Park.
