Bonne écoute a tous !

In this episode, we chat with Jen about her journey working as a cabin crew member on one of UK’s top airlines, deciding to apply to medical school and overcoming several hurdles that arise as a non-traditional student, balancing medical school with still flying part time, and finally completing medical school and graduating as a Doctor! In this episode we also talk about imposter syndrome and how to cope with repeating a year at med school. Another episode not to be missed!

EN Episode 25: Jen, starting Medical School at 50! 17 Jan 202400:46:49

Welcome to this new episode of More Than Medical Students!

In this podcast one of the things we love is celebrating Medical Students with different backgrounds and journeys and showcase the incredible diversity of our student community. Today, I am very excited to welcome Jen Reinmuth-Birch who is a 53 year old 3rd year Medical Student from the US. She is defying preconceptions about Med Students and age by starting Medical School at 50 years old- what an inspiration!

In this episode we explore Jen’s journey and experience as a non-traditional applicant and now student. She shares some brilliant tips for other non-traditional applicants including interviews, personal statement and portfolio experiences. We also discuss Jen’s experience of balancing studying and personal life, as Jen has been able to thrive at Medical School and in her family life with her two twin sons and her lovely farm in Oregon. Jen shows us that non-traditional students can bring so much to the Medical Student and Doctor community: a different outlook, unique experience and innovative approaches for patients.

And in case anyone is still wandering about this: age does not matter and you’re not too old to follow your dreams!

    FR Episode 22: C'est le début de l'internat, @miniedoc05 Nov 202300:38:03

Commencer l’internat.
