THE CELLAR MS4 EP1: INCIDENT IN THE LIGHTHOUSE
WARNING: RATED NC-17
For adult language, sexual situations, violence. LISTENER DISCRETION ADVISED.
Welcome to the fourth miniseries of The Cellar! This is the first of five planned episodes of this long-running series, and in our humble opinion, the plays keep getting better and better.
Episode 1, Incident in the Lighthouse, is set in early 20th-century France, in a coastal town. Lighthouse-keeper Remy is a shy young man, very pious, whose older brother Remy, a sailor, is 180° different -- fun-loving, irreverent, and impulsive. When they get together, Remy brings along two women of questionable morals. When the brothers learn that their mother is in danger, will Remy deal with the stress in a positive way? TUNE IN AND FIND OUT!

SSSP 24 - QUIET PLEASE: How Are You, Pal?

SONIC SUMMERSTOCK PLAYHOUSE 2024:
QUIET, PLEASE: How Are You, Pal?
Originally released in August 2024 on the Mutual Audio Network as part of the annual Summerstock podcast series, we proudly present this remake of an episode of Wyllis Cooper's classic old radio series. The only extant recording seemingly available is very difficult to listen to: full of scratches and badly damaged. I like to say that the record it came from might've been used in the owner's house to level out a table leg or something.
Anyway, this is the tale of a guy who hooks up with an old friend after a couple decades, and it turns out they have a lot to chat about. In Cooper's inimitable style, it's mostly told in first-person, with some bits of dialog coming in as flashbacks. Still, the actor we hired to imitate Ernest Chappell, the guy who tells the story, isn't too awful. But don't take our word for it. Listen and decide for yourself.
CAST:
ANNOUNCER/COOPER/MAN ON PHONE: Andy Hartson-Bowyer
THE GIRL/HER MOTHER: Jesirae Kesler
CHAPPELL/DANE: Pete Lutz

PROJECT AUDION 57 - Philip Marlowe
samedi 20 juillet 2024 • Durée 45:54
In the long lineup of fictional hard-boiled detectives, Philip Marlowe stands out as one of the earliest and best. Raymond Chandler's creation first reached print in the early 1930s, then went on to memorable adaptations in film, television, and of course radio. "The Adventures of Philip Marlowe" had a solid four-year run of well over 100 episodes on CBS. Still, a handful of recordings are lost today. Now Project Audion recreates one of these missing episodes - "The Quiet Number" - directly from the original script, exactly seventy-five years after it was broadcast. "The Quiet Number" wasn't penned by Chandler, but we meet the son of the man who wrote this and most of Marlowe's other radio adventures. Then our transcontinental voice cast performs this gritty story of lost love in a hot Los Angeles summer via a live transcription that sounds just like 1949.
Our versatile voice actors were:
Andy Hartson-Bowyer in Virginia
Richard Durrington in Idaho
Gary Layton in Texas
Lothar Tuppan in California
Kristen James in Nevada
Holly Adams in New York
Kyle Bonn in Oregon
Larry Groebe produced and directed from Texas

JILL KORN'S AYRSHIRE TRILOGY - 3. There Goes Craufurdland
lundi 16 janvier 2023 • Durée 54:10
Craufurdland Castle in Fenwick, Ayrshire, keeps its secrets close. It has been held in the same family for almost two thousand years. It is the early 1800s. Janet Craufurd, Lady of the house, writes in her diary, charting the progress of renovations to the estate which has suffered years of neglect.
But Janet’s mind is not easy. She suspects that the house has its own story to tell – a story lost in a secret passage, in hidden rooms, in dusty books and neglected papers. And someone is watching her as she searches for answers; someone she cannot see but whose presence she senses as she works.
There Goes Craufurdland is the final play in An Ayrshire Trilogy, three audio dramas which celebrate Ayrshire and its people. The Trilogy is supported by Creative Scotland.

JILL KORN'S AYRSHIRE TRILOGY - 2. The Lady and the Poet
lundi 16 janvier 2023 • Durée 43:33
In 1786, Robert Burns sent a copy of his book, Poems, Chiefly in The Scottish Dialect, to Mrs Frances Wallace Dunlop of Dunlop in Ayrshire. She was so taken with it, and with him, that she became his patron and later, his confidant.
But the voices of these two strong and determined characters still resonate across the years through their letters. Their friendship endured for a decade before their differences drove them apart. The Lady and The Poetfocuses on this platonic relationship, which was like no other in Burns’s short and eventful life.
The Lady and The Poet is the second play in An Ayrshire Trilogy, three audio dramas which celebrate Ayrshire and its people. The Trilogy is supported by Creative Scotland.

JILL KORN'S AYRSHIRE TRILOGY - 1. High Spirits
lundi 16 janvier 2023 • Durée 34:03
An angelic fantasy tale set on a remote Scottish island. The bees have all left , apparently forever, and spring has not arrived. Everything is out of kilter and only Breagh, it seems, can put it right. High Spirits is about finding friendship and facing fear. “You’re a child of the air. Your job is to cross the barriers that separate the different elements in this world. Your job is telling stories, and bringing back harmony.” High Spirits is part of An Ayrshire Trilogy, three audio dramas which celebrate our rich history and culture. The Trilogy is supported by Creative Scotland.
