At Mission-Minded Families, we focus on Biblical Truth, Happy Habits, and Gospel Impact.

In today's episode we're beginning a 5-day Bible study through the book of James (starting in James, Chapter 1), highlighting verses, "Count it all joy," seeking God's wisdom, and caring for widows and orphans.

We look at missionary heroes, including Amy Carmichael, George Muller, Hudson Taylor and an unknown missionary (number 8 of 13 children, who had 10 children of his own), known as the "Pilgrims Companion." We share keys for JOY and happiness, despite challenging times.

In this new episode, we're discussing Discipleship 101 for Christians. What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? How can we make disciples? What is a simple way to share our faith.

Ann will share some real life stories, from overseas and here at home, introduce you to a happy missionary hero (who you've likely never heard about before), plus share some practical tips for personal discipleship that are really important to our faith.

In this episode, we're completing our study through the book of Titus, today in Titus 3:8-15. The focus is how to MAINTAIN good works. How do we keep doing what God has called for us to do? How do we even go beyond the maintenance-mode of cultural Christianity and truly ENJOY loving and serving the Lord?

Two key verses are 3:8, "be careful to maintain good works" and 3:14, "and learn to maintain good works." 

We're not saved by our self-efforts or by merely doing good things, but God does have "good works" prepared for us to do for His kingdom and His glory.

In this episode, our focus is a mission-minded Bible study in the second-half of Titus Chapter 2, (verses 9-15). Highlights include a few quotes from Elisabeth Elliot, plus a Bible study focus on "exhorting" moms, God's grace and salvation through Jesus, keeping a focus on eternity, and being ZEALOUS for good works.

Following our verse-by-verse study, Ann Dunagan also addresses several practical questions from real-life moms from Louisiana, Indiana, and Washington.

"Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people zealous for good works" (Titus 2:13-14).

As we continue our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Titus, today beginning chapter 2, Ann Dunagan discusses the balance between DOING GOOD as busy-at-home moms (in raising and loving our children and families) along with having a passionate heart for the needs of the world. Are we called to love the Lord, or to raise our little ones? Or is it possible to do both?

This week, we're focusing on needs of the world and the importance of compassion, from a Biblical and mission-minded perspective. In today's Quick Question, Ann Dunagan answers,

"Why should we care for the POOR?"

In this episode, we look at the overall theme of the Book of Titus, starting with the first half of Chapter 1 (verse-by-verse, going through Titus 1:1-9). Ann Dunagan shares practical insight for busy-at-home moms, with a practical focus on finding a MISSION statement for your life, and followed by Q & A's from moms.

"Why should we care for ORPHANS?"

The Great Commission in Mark 16:15 tells us, "Go into all the WORLD and preach the Gospel."

This word WORLD in the Greek is "Kosmos" which not only refers to geographic location, but into every sphere of society. Will you GO into your sphere with the Good News of Jesus?

Jim Elliot said, "He is no fool who gives what He cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." In today's Quick Questions, Ann Dunagan brings a challenge about giving with SACRIFICE. Do not FEAR, even for your children's salvation. Worry and anxiety are not helpful "Momma-attitudes" to have; but they are traps and snares of the enemy. No matter what the present situation is regarding your children, the virtuous woman can stand on God's Word and PRAY in faith.
