Well hello there, friend. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you've carved out this little pocket of time for yourself today. Early morning on a Tuesday, huh? That's the time when the world feels like it's already asking something of you before you've even had your coffee, isn't it? Today, we're going to practice something I call "The Unclench." It's my favorite way to remind your whole body that it's actually allowed to let go.
So find yourself somewhere comfortable, sitting or lying down, wherever your body feels most at home right now. There's no wrong answer here. Go ahead and close your eyes whenever that feels right, or soften your gaze if you prefer. Just let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Notice how they're probably hanging around up there like worried guests at a party. Let's invite them to relax.
I want you to start by taking three deep breaths, but not the kind where you're trying to prove anything to your lungs. Breathe like you're smelling something wonderful baking in the oven. In through your nose for a count of four, holding for four, and out through your mouth for six. The longer exhale is key here, by the way. That's where the magic happens. Let's do that together. Breathing in... two, three, four. Holding... two, three, four. And releasing... two, three, four, five, six.
Now here's where it gets really good. I want you to imagine a warm, golden light starting at the very top of your head. This light is relaxation itself, and it's got nowhere to be but here. As you breathe out, let this warmth travel down through your forehead, melting away any tension you've been storing there like old receipts. Your jaw releases. Your neck softens. Continue with each exhale, letting this golden light move through your shoulders, your chest, your belly. Imagine it's a gentle river moving through you, and your job is simply to not resist it.
Notice any tight spots. Don't fight them. Just breathe into them with curiosity, like you're making friends with an old worry. Your lower back, your hips, your legs, all the way down to the soles of your feet. By the time this light reaches the ground, you've given yourself permission to simply be. Just be here, breathing, existing, completely enough.
When you're ready, start to deepen your breath just slightly and gently open your eyes. Before you jump back into your day, try this: pick one moment today, maybe during your lunch or your commute, where you'll pause and do one round of that longer exhale. Just one. That's your anchor back to this calm.
Thank you so much for joining me for Relaxation. Please do subscribe so you never miss a practice, and remember, the best gift you can give anyone today is a version of you that actually rested.

Sunday Morning Pause: Your Reset Button for the Week Ahead
lundi 12 octobre 2026 • Durée 02:30
Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. It's early Sunday morning, that in-between time when the world feels a little quieter, and honestly, that's the perfect moment to hit pause. I know your week might be creeping up on you already, or maybe you're still recovering from the last one, so let's just take a few minutes together to remember what it feels like to actually be here, right now, without anywhere else to be.
Go ahead and find a comfortable seat, somewhere you won't be bothered for the next few minutes. You can close your eyes if that feels good, or just soften your gaze downward. There's no perfect way to do this, by the way. Just you, being present.
Let's start by noticing your breath. Not changing it, not forcing it, just observing it like you're watching ripples on a pond. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Feel that gentle movement in your chest, that quiet rhythm that's been with you this whole time, doing its thing without you having to think about it. Your breath is like a loyal friend, always there.
Now, I want to guide you through something I call the body scan with a twist. We're going to travel through your body like you're feeling sunshine warming different places. Start at the top of your head. Notice any tension there, and imagine it melting away like ice cream on a summer day. Not forcing it, just gently inviting ease. Move down to your shoulders, those poor hardworking things that carry so much. Let them soften. Feel that space between your shoulder blades open up a little.
Continue down your arms and into your hands. Your chest, your belly, your lower back. Breathe into any spots that feel tight. Your hips, your legs, all the way down to your feet. You're not trying to fix anything here, you're just meeting yourself with kindness.
As you finish this scan, take three deeper breaths. With each one, tell yourself something true: I am safe right now. This moment is enough. I choose ease.
Before you go, here's your takeaway for today. Whenever you feel that tension creeping back, just place one hand on your heart and one on your belly, and breathe. Just one conscious breath. That's your reset button.
Thank you so much for joining me for Relaxation. If this practice landed for you, please subscribe and share it with someone who needs to slow down too. You've got this. Be gentle with yourself out there.

Ocean Breath: Your Two-Minute Nervous System Reset
dimanche 11 octobre 2026 • Durée 02:26
Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, it's early Friday morning, and I'm willing to bet that somewhere in your chest right now lives a little knot of tension. Maybe it's from the week that's been, or the week that's coming. Either way, you showed up. You chose this moment for yourself. That's everything. So take a breath with me, and let's unknot some of that together.
Go ahead and find a comfortable seat—couch, chair, floor, wherever feels like home. Your spine can be tall, but your shoulders? Let them relax like they're melting into the earth. There's nowhere to be but here. Notice your feet on the ground. They've carried you this far. They deserve a little gratitude.
Now, I want to introduce you to what I call the Ocean Breath. This is my secret weapon for genuine relaxation because it gives your nervous system permission to calm down. Here's how it works. Breathe in slowly through your nose for a count of four. Feel that cool air moving in. Hold it for four. Now exhale through your mouth, but here's the magic part, make it audible. Not forced, just let out a gentle sigh, like you're fogging up a window. Count to six on this exhale. The longer exhale tells your body that everything is safe.
Let's do this together. In for four. Hold for four. And sigh it out for six. Again. In through the nose, cool and clean. Hold. And release through your mouth like you're letting go of something that never belonged to you anyway. One more time. In, hold, and out.
Notice what just happened. Your shoulders probably dropped. Your jaw unclenched. That's not magic, that's biology. When your exhale is longer than your inhale, your parasympathetic nervous system wakes up and says, okay, we're safe now.
Here's what I want you to do today. Pick one moment, maybe after you brush your teeth or when you first sit at your desk. Just two minutes of Ocean Breath. That's it. Two minutes where you're not trying to fix anything or accomplish anything. You're just breathing like the ocean, in and out, in and out. Let that be your anchor.
I'm so grateful you spent this time with me today. Thank you for listening to Relaxation. Please make sure to subscribe so you never miss a moment of calm. You deserve this. You deserve more of this. I'll see you next time.

Shoulders Down, Stress Out: Your Thursday Morning Reset
vendredi 9 octobre 2026 • Durée 02:35
Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and welcome to Relaxation. I'm so glad you're here right now, especially on a Thursday morning when the week's probably got you feeling a little wound up. You know that feeling when your shoulders are somewhere up by your ears and you can't quite remember the last time you took a full breath? Yeah, we're fixing that today. So take a seat somewhere comfortable, and let's give your nervous system permission to actually relax.
Go ahead and settle in however feels good to you. If you're sitting, feel your sit bones making contact with the chair. If you're lying down, notice the bed or floor beneath you. There's no right way to do this, by the way. Now, let's start with something simple. Breathe in through your nose for a count of four, and as you exhale through your mouth, imagine you're letting out a long, slow sigh. Like you're finally putting down something heavy you've been carrying. Let's do that three more times together. In for four, and out with that sigh.
Now we're going to try what I call the tension release scan. This is my favorite way to actually feel relaxation happen in your body because honestly, sometimes we're so tense we don't even realize it. Start at the very top of your head and slowly bring your attention downward, like you're shining a warm light over each part of your body. As that light touches your forehead, notice if there's any tightness there, and imagine it melting away like ice cream on a summer day. Move that attention down to your jaw. So many of us clench our teeth without knowing it, so let your jaw hang loose and heavy. Release your tongue from the roof of your mouth.
Bring that warm attention to your shoulders, those notorious tension holders. Imagine them getting heavier and heavier, sinking down and back like they're melting into your chair or bed. Continue down through your arms, noticing the weight of them. Your hands. Your chest rising and falling with each breath. Your belly, your hips, your thighs, your calves, all the way down to your feet. Spend a few more breaths here, just noticing how different your body feels now.
Here's what I want you to take with you today: the next time you're stuck in traffic or waiting in line or sitting through a meeting, you can do this scan in thirty seconds. Just that quick body check-in can interrupt that tension loop before it even starts.
Thank you so much for spending this time with Relaxation. Please subscribe wherever you listen so you don't miss our next practice. You deserve this peace.

The Softening Scan: Your 30-Second Tension Release
mercredi 7 octobre 2026 • Durée 02:54
Hey there, friend. I'm Julia, and I'm so glad you found your way here today. You know, it's early Tuesday morning, and I'm betting some of you are already feeling that weight settling in—that mental fog, maybe some tension you can't quite shake. So today, we're doing something simple but genuinely powerful. We're learning how to really, truly relax. Not the "I'll relax when everything's done" kind of thinking. The actual, right-now kind. So let's settle in together.
Find yourself a comfortable seat. Feet on the floor if you can manage it, or tucked up somewhere cozy. Give yourself permission to be exactly as you are in this moment. Not tomorrow's version of you that has it all figured out. Just this one right here. Take a breath whenever you're ready. There's no rush.
Now, I want to introduce you to what I call the Softening Scan. It's become my favorite way to melt tension that's hiding in places we don't even realize we're holding it. Here's how it works. Bring your awareness to the top of your head. Don't try to change anything. Just notice. Is there tightness? Openness? Maybe some tingling? Whatever you find, imagine it's a block of ice slowly warming in the sun. As you exhale, feel it soften just a tiny bit.
Move down to your eyes and forehead. So many of us hold stress right here without noticing. Let those muscles around your eyes get heavy and loose. Feel your eyebrows relax away from each other. Let your jaw hang naturally. Some of you might notice your teeth are clenched. That's okay. Not a problem. Just a little reminder that you're human.
Now your shoulders. These are gatekeepers of tension, aren't they? Imagine them rolling backward and down, like they're melting into your chair. Feel your collarbone widen. Let your chest open like a door slowly swinging inward, creating space for your heart to beat without effort.
Move through your belly, your lower back, your hips. Anywhere your body has been working hard, send it a little thank you. Feel everything soften like butter on warm toast. Down through your legs, your feet, right into the ground beneath you.
You've just given your nervous system permission to step off high alert. That's the whole game right there.
Here's what I want you to do today. Pick one moment—maybe it's during your coffee, or a commute, or sitting at your desk. Just thirty seconds. Pause. Do one mini softening scan. Your neck. Your shoulders. Your hands. That's it. You're building a muscle that says relaxation is available to you, anytime.
Thank you so much for spending this time with me. I hope you felt even a little bit lighter. If you're finding these practices helpful, please subscribe so you don't miss a single one. You deserve this peace.

The Softening Breath: Permission to Let Go
lundi 5 octobre 2026 • Durée 02:44
Hey there, friend. I'm Julia, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, it's early Monday morning as we're recording this, and I'm betting some of you are already feeling that familiar weight settling in. Maybe it's the week ahead, maybe it's just the accumulated stuff we carry around without even noticing. Whatever brought you here today, I want you to know that taking this time for yourself right now? That's already the hardest part done.
So let's get comfortable. Find yourself a spot where you can sit or lie down, somewhere that feels like it's just for you for the next few minutes. There's no perfect posture here, no special outfit required. Just you, as you are.
Now, I want you to notice your breath without trying to change it yet. Just watch it, like you're observing clouds drifting across a sky. In and out. Natural. Easy. There's no performance happening here. Your breath has been taking care of you since the moment you were born, and it knows exactly what to do.
Here's what we're going to do together. I call this the Softening Breath, and it's going to feel like giving permission to every tight corner of your body to finally let go.
As you breathe in through your nose, imagine drawing in the most soothing color you can picture. Maybe it's soft blue, or warm gold, or gentle green. Whatever calls to you. Breathe that in deeply, and as you do, mentally scan your body. Notice where you're holding tension. Your shoulders? Your jaw? Your belly? Just notice without judgment.
Now exhale slowly through your mouth, like you're breathing out worry itself. As that breath leaves, imagine releasing that tension, watching it dissolve like mist in morning sun. Do this again. Inhale your color, scan, and exhale that weight away.
One more time, slowly. Inhale calm. Exhale tension. Feel how your body begins to respond, like it's finally being asked permission to rest.
Now, here's the magic part. As you drift back to your regular breathing, keep that softening going. Let your shoulders drop. Unclench whatever you didn't know you were clenching.
As your day unfolds, remember this feeling. When you feel tension creeping back in, pause and take just one of those softening breaths. You don't need twenty minutes. One conscious breath can reset everything.
Thank you so much for joining me on Relaxation today. I hope this practice gave you a little space to breathe. Please subscribe and come back whenever you need to remember what it feels like to let go.

Friday Reset: Release What You've Been Holding
dimanche 4 octobre 2026 • Durée 02:40
Hey there, and welcome. I'm Julia, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. If you're tuning in right now on this Friday morning, I'm guessing you might be feeling that familiar weight—you know, that sense that everything's moving just a little too fast, that there's too much pulling at your attention from every direction. Maybe you woke up already thinking about your to-do list, or perhaps you're carrying some tension from the week. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that taking this time for yourself right now is exactly what you need.
So let's settle in together. Find yourself a comfortable seat, somewhere you won't be disturbed for the next few minutes. You can be on your couch, in your car during a lunch break, or even sitting at your kitchen table. This is your space now. Go ahead and let your shoulders drop away from your ears, and just notice where your body naturally wants to rest.
Take a deep breath in through your nose, and exhale slowly through your mouth, like you're fogging a mirror. Good. One more time. In, and out. Feel that? That's your nervous system beginning to recognize that it's safe to unwind.
Now, I want to guide you through something I call the sponge technique, because relaxation isn't about forcing yourself to be calm—it's about gently releasing what you've been holding. Imagine your whole body is like a sponge that's been squeezed tight all morning. As you breathe in, visualize warm, golden light filling you from the top of your head down to your toes. And as you exhale, imagine yourself slowly releasing, like that sponge opening up and letting go of everything it's been gripping onto. The tension, the worry, the rush—it all just drains away.
Stay with this for a moment. Breathe in the relaxation, breathe out the resistance. In with ease, out with effort. With each exhale, you're becoming softer, more spacious, more yourself.
And here's something beautiful I want you to remember: relaxation isn't a luxury, and it isn't selfish. It's maintenance. It's how you keep yourself whole so you can show up as your best self. So today, I want you to carry this practice with you. When you feel that tension creeping back in—maybe around two o'clock when your energy dips—pause and take just three conscious breaths using the sponge technique. That's all it takes to reset.
Thank you so much for joining me here on Relaxation today. Your commitment to your own peace matters more than you know. Please do subscribe so you never miss a moment of mindfulness, because you deserve this, every single day.

Warm Honey and Permission to Settle: Your Nervous System's Gentle Reset
vendredi 2 octobre 2026 • Durée 02:51
Well, hello there. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you've carved out this time for yourself today. Whether you're starting your Thursday morning, taking a break from a packed schedule, or maybe you're that person whose nervous system has been running a marathon while your body sits still—this one's for you. Today, we're practicing relaxation, and I mean real relaxation. Not the kind where you're checking your email between deep breaths. The genuine article.
Let me guess what your day might look like. You've got that low hum of tension living in your shoulders. Maybe your jaw is a little tight. There's probably at least one thing on your mind that you can't quite shake. Am I close? Here's what I want you to know: that tension isn't a character flaw. Your nervous system is just doing its job a little too well. Today, we're going to gently show it that it's safe to downshift.
So let's begin. Find a comfortable seat or lie down if that feels right. You don't need perfect posture for this. Just find a position where your body can genuinely relax without worrying about falling over. Close your eyes whenever you're ready, or soften your gaze if that's more comfortable.
Now, let's invite your breath to become something like a gentle wave. Not forced, not controlled—just noticing what's already happening. Breathe in through your nose if you can, and let your exhale be a little longer than your inhale. In for a count of four. Out for five or six. This longer exhale is like giving your nervous system permission to settle, like you're lowering the temperature in a room.
Here's where we go deeper. I want you to imagine your relaxation as something physical, like warm honey or sunlight. Picture it starting at the crown of your head. As you exhale, feel it dripping down through your face, softening every muscle—your forehead, your eyes, your jaw. You're not forcing anything. You're just allowing.
With each breath, that warm sensation moves further down. Through your neck and shoulders, melting the tension like butter on warm toast. Down your chest, your belly, your hands. Your entire body becoming heavier and more anchored with each exhale. There's nowhere to be but here.
Take three more breaths like this, and with each one, feel yourself sinking a little deeper into ease.
As we close, carry this feeling into your day like you're wrapping it around your shoulders. When you feel that familiar tightness creeping back in, pause. Remember this breath. That's your superpower.
Thank you so much for practicing relaxation with me today. If this resonated with you, please subscribe so we can do this together again soon. You deserve this peace.

Permission to Pause: Your Nervous System's Chill-Out Button
mercredi 30 septembre 2026 • Durée 02:53
Hey there, friend. I'm Julia, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, it's early September and the world feels like it's moving at about a thousand miles per hour. Everyone's adjusting to new routines, new expectations, and if I'm being honest, most of us are running on fumes and coffee. So today, we're hitting pause. Not forever. Just for the next few minutes. Because relaxation isn't a luxury, it's permission. And you deserve it.
Let's start by finding a comfortable seat wherever you are right now. If you're lying down, that's perfect. If you're sitting, let your shoulders drop away from your ears like you're shrugging off all the things you're supposed to be doing. Good. Now just notice what's around you. Maybe there's a sound in the distance, maybe there's soft light coming through a window. We're not changing anything. We're just arriving.
Take a breath in through your nose for a count of four. Hold it gently for four. And release it through your mouth for six. One more time. In through the nose, four counts. Hold. And out through the mouth, slowly, like you're fogging up a mirror. That exhale is the magic, by the way. Longer exhales activate your nervous system's chill-out button. It's science wrapped in simplicity.
Now here's our main technique, and I call it the Body Scan Whisper. You're going to mentally travel through your body like you're a warm breeze moving from your head all the way down to your toes. Start at the top of your head. Just notice. Not judge. Not fix. Just notice what's there. Maybe there's tension around your eyes. Maybe your scalp feels heavy. Whatever it is, breathe into it. Imagine warm honey melting down your face. Soft. Slow. Deliberate.
Move down to your neck and shoulders. This is where we hold stress like it's our most prized possession. Breathe. Notice. Release. Let that tension drip off your shoulders like water.
Continue down your arms. Your hands. Your chest and belly. Your lower back, your hips, your legs, all the way to your toes. With each body region, you're having a quiet conversation that says, hey, I see you. You can rest now. You're safe now.
When you reach your toes, you're done. You've just given yourself permission to exist without producing, without performing, without pushing. That's the whole point.
As you head into your day, carry this with you. When tension creeps back in, take one of those long exhales. Just one. It's your reminder that relaxation isn't something you find somewhere else. It lives in you.
Thank you so much for joining me on Relaxation. I'd love for you to subscribe so we can do this together again. Take care of yourself.

Melting: Permission to Let Go Without the Guilt
lundi 28 septembre 2026 • Durée 02:37
Well, hello there, friend. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. It's Sunday morning, and I know what that's like—that weird mix of relief that the week is over and maybe a little dread about what's coming next. Or maybe you're just running on fumes and your nervous system is basically waving a white flag. Either way, you've found exactly the right place.
Today, we're going to practice something I call Melting, and it's basically permission to let go without guilt. So find yourself somewhere comfortable. You don't need to sit like a pretzel or pretend you're made of marble. Just settle in like you're sinking into your favorite chair. Feet on the ground if you can. Shoulders soft.
Now, let's start by just noticing your breath. Not changing it, not forcing it into some fancy pattern. Just watching it like you're observing a bird outside your window. In and out. Easy. Gentle.
Here's where the magic happens. Imagine your body is like a chocolate bar left in the sun. There's no effort involved. You're not trying to relax. You're just allowing gravity and warmth to do their job. Start at the very top of your head. Notice any tension there, any tightness you might be gripping. And as you exhale, let it soften. Pour down like warm honey.
Move slowly down. Your jaw. How tight is it? This is where we hold so much stress. Let it go slack. Your shoulders are probably bunched up around your ears like you're trying to protect yourself from something. Exhale and let them drop.
Your chest. Your belly. All the way down your spine. Each exhale is like opening a door and letting something heavy walk right out. No drama. No struggle. Just release.
Keep moving down through your hips, your thighs, your knees. Imagine each exhale is melting you a little more into wherever you're sitting. You're not trying to be anywhere or do anything right now. You're just here, letting yourself be exactly as you are.
Stay with this for a few more breaths. Feel the weight of your body. Feel how much easier everything becomes when you stop fighting.
And here's the beautiful part you can take with you today: this feeling doesn't have to end when you stand up. When you move through your day, remember you can check in with your shoulders. You can let your jaw go soft. You can soften one more time. Small melts throughout your day.
Thank you so much for spending this time with me on Relaxation. If this practice landed for you, please subscribe so you never miss a moment of peace. You deserve it.
