Statement of Need 
This podcast will address common behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD) associated w/ dementia and provide strategies for clinicians to recognize and manage. Up to 90% of individuals with dementia can suffer from BPSD that can include agitation, anxiety, depression, hallucinations and aggression This can be challenging for care givers, patients and care teams.
 
Objectives

• List common behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD) associated with dementia.
• Identify environmental, medical and psychosocial factors that can contribute to BPSD.
• Discuss evidence-based strategies to evaluate and manage BPSD, minimizing antipsychotics and highlighting non-pharmacological.

Behind the Screen: The Impact of AI Companions on Adolescents

Statement of Need
This will be a two-part podcast that will focus on the psychological effects of cyberbullying and AI companions. This will be specific to adolescents and teens. As a result of the growing prevalence in digital engagement, a by-product has been cyberbullying. The psychological effects of cyberbullying are unique in that they differ from traditional bullying due to the anonymity and permanence. Additionally, with the growing popularity of AI companions a second podcast will address this topic. Both podcasts will address the psychological effects and provide tools for providers to use to screen for subtle signs as well as resources.

Objectives

• Define what constitutes an AI companion and differentiate from interactive AI-enabled toys.
• Discuss how frequent interaction with AI companions can influence psychological and social development of adolescents and teens.
• Identify behavioral and psychological signs that may indicate an adolescent/teen has or is developing an unhealthy reliance on AI companions.

With the 2023 DEA regulation changes, physicians can now treat patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) without requiring an X waiver. As the demand for treatment providers rises, primary care providers are pivotal in addressing this gap by initiating OUD treatments. Given that primary care often serves as the first point of contact within the healthcare system, it's crucial for providers to identify patients who could benefit from OUD treatment. However, many providers fail to recognize these patients and may refer them elsewhere, missing opportunities for immediate care.

Adolescents with Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) face a significantly higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD) compared to their peers without diabetes. Regular physical activity is crucial for these young individuals, as it helps mitigate CVD risk and improves cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF). Therefore, promoting lifelong physical activity, with appropriate insulin and dietary adjustments, is essential for managing T1DM and preventing CVD. This podcast will highlight the benefits of exercise in preventing cardiovascular disease, describe the advantages of sports activities, and outline clinical guidelines for safe exercise practices in adolescents with T1DM.

With the increase of childhood obesity and other risk factors, research has concluded a direct correlation to an increase in high blood pressure. Chronic pelvic pain is a common condition that can negatively impact an individual's quality of life. Providers should be aware how to effectively diagnosis and manage chronic pelvic pain. This podcast will be a discussion that will review key aspects of the management of chronic pelvic pain and include diagnosis and treatment. There will be a focus on surgical indications for treatment of chronic pelvic pain and the applications.
