I've been fortunate to try the Bio-Cellulose Sheet Mask and it was a pleasure to use, very hydrating and noticeably brightening. We spoke about the formulation of the masks and the new collagen supplement (the quality of which relates to my favourite quote from Dr Cotter's mum - good food is cheap medicine). Ep#46 - Ian Ogilvy in Conversation - His Memoir 'Once A Saint', Family Fame, Acting Memories, Writing Books & 1960s RADA Makeup Tips!31 May 202301:00:53

On the latest episode of The Homspa Beauty Meant To Be Podcast speaking to Ian Ogilvy was a joy!  He is funny, witty and extremely interesting to talk to.  I have known him as a respected actor since I can remember but it's through reading his memoir, Once A Saint, that I discovered just how fascinating a life he has lead.  I also discovered there were many films I hadn't watched - I used to think that Ian began his career in the 1970s, so it's a credit to him that he doesn't look mature enough to have began a decade earlier!

I thoroughly recommend his memoir as not only is he a great actor, he's a talented author too.  I'm currently reading Withering Slights and I'll never look at cinematic reviews in quite the same way again!

World of Books has a varied collection of Ian's books, many of which I purchased from here:

It was so much fun speaking with Kris as she managed to inspire and calm instantaneously!  Kris is spiritual in the most accessible way and I can see why she writes books.  If we had more time I would have loved to delve deeper into her connection with other beings as it's completely fascinating to me.

Ep#42 - Managing Menopause Sleep & Pain Issues with Marva, creator of Shhh...Menopause Wellness08 Mar 202300:35:13

Hi everyone, I'm pleased to share a very special episode of the podcast with you today, sponsored by Shhh...Menopause Wellness.  Marva Williams has an unbelievably stressful story to tell, but rather than allowing it to consume her, it became the making of her and inspired her to create Shhh...Menopause Wellness. Whether you have been affected by menopause yourself, are peri, post or know someone who is going through it presently, you'd be wise to listen to what Marva has learned.

She has worked to create a range that tackles two of the big issues affecting many people; sleep and pain management (obviously you should always speak to your GP about your condition and there is no medical advice contained in this podcast).

The added benefit of the range is that it can be useful if you're also going through issues that could be helped by the targeted ingredients contained.

You can visit this link for more information on the range plus your free e-book and discount code:

Hi everyone, I hope you're keeping safe and well in this particuarly weird time.  I thought we could take our minds off this strange festive season with a fun trip back to the 1970s to chat about some of the most popular skincare products, makeup trends and hair styles that are still in vogue today.  I'm a bit of a history geek when it comes to popular culture of the last 50-60 years and I retain far too much information that I love to share with anyone who matches my love of these decades!  Do you have any favourite 70s styles or some memories that you'd love to share in the comments?

Ep#40 - Harnessing The Power Of Meditation with Shai Tubali27 Feb 202300:36:10

It was so insightful to speak with Shai about his new book.  As I've mentioned, every answer he gave me lead to so many more questions!    Meditation is such a fascinating subject for those of us who really connect with it, so who better to speak to than a true expert.

EP#28 - feat Derren Nesbitt - Where Eagles Dare, acting since 1950s, Hollywood friends, New Era Academy16 Jul 202100:59:17

Hi everyone, how often can you speak to someone who is still very active in their chosen profession and is not only winning awards for their work but also running an academy to help future generations develop their skills?  As you'll hear during our chat, I really got into a lot of Derren's past work during lockdown when my industry shut down completely.  I've always loved the history of makeup and one of my favourite things to do is watch shows from different decades and work out how the hair and makeup was created to fit the filming techniques of the time (I know it's geeky!).

Derren very kindly agreed to chat with me about his experiences since joining the industry in the late 1950s and not only are we in for a treat regarding his work with several Hollywood icons, he also has a fabulous memory for detail and was able to reminisce about some shows that are fresh in my lockdown memory.  Derren and his wife Miranda also run the very successful New Era Academy and it's perfect for young people who are looking to develop their confidence and performing skills.

You can view the website here: https://www.facebook.com/NewEraAcademyExaminations/

She is one of the friendliest, most upbeat people walking the planet and has so many crazy stories to tell (including sneaking Princess Diana into a club with Freddie Mercury and Kenny Everett!).    I wanted to discover where her passion for creating a drinks brand came from, why she's focused on a healthier approach and how she maintains her positive outlook as an entrepreneur in such a tough industry.

EP#12 - What's In My Bag | Sarah Haran08 Jun 202000:24:30

Hi everyone, some of you have asked me to do some videos which include my makeup work and also more about eponymous.shop, the online store I co-run which focuses on bringing independent brands to the forefront (an idea which came about through working with so many small indies as a makeup artist).

I've brought the two together for this podcast chat, discussing what I'll bring in my handbag when I'm working with clients (in addition to my kit bags) plus I've included some answers from handbag designer Sarah Haran, an inspiring lady I've become friends with through Eponymous. Not only does Sarah have an amazing story, she designs beautiful, functional bags too. They are investments for life and mine is still going strong and it's a good few years old now!

This isn't sponsored but I have included a few images which link to the Eponymous shop. There are no affiliate links but if you were to purchase from the shop, you should know that I have an involvement in that :) You can view the video version on my YouTube Channel.
