So, are you ready for the SECRET WEAPON you need for better arguments with your spouse?

It’s an apology!! I know it can seem almost too simple, but stick with me - it’s actually A LOT more complicated than it seems. In today’s episode, I’m diving into the apology, how you could be doing them wrong (yes, there is a wrong way to do it!), and what you need to know to start using the apology as the surefire secret weapon to ending an argument and moving towards compromise in a real way.

  • TOP TIPS to make sure you are apologizing effectively - and the kind of apologies you should be avoiding
  • The 5 Apology Languages and how these can help you avoid miscommunication with your spouse

Ep. 186: Feeling Unheard and Disconnected In Your Marriage?25 Nov 202400:32:37

In this episode, we’re diving into something I know so many of us feel but don’t always talk about: that deep need to feel supported and truly connected with our partner. Sometimes, it’s not about what your partner does or doesn’t do; it’s about the little moments that either build trust or chip away at it.

Remember that classic line from The Break-Up with Jennifer Aniston? “I want you to want to do the dishes!” It’s a funny moment, but it’s also deeper than that. We're exploring what this really means when it comes to feeling supported by our partners.

Tune in to discover:

  • The 3 most common reasons couples feel unheard and disconnected - and what you can do about it

  • How small, every day promises (like showing up on time or picking up groceries) can significantly impact whether we feel truly supported and seen

  • The truth about the “mental load” and why an imbalance here can lead to resentment

  • Practical tips for creating a fair, flexible system at home where both partners feel valued
