  • Social media is not your friend here.
  • When you are just starting out, you shouldn’t compare yourself to someone that’s been in training for 10 years.
  • There’s no overnight success.

Your voice is part of your marketing. Every pause, every story and every conversation gives people a feel for your work - and a reason to remember you. If you are building a service-based business, this episode will help you grow your online visibility, create founder content that sounds like you, and build authority through conversations people remember.

I talk with communication and vocal coach Helen von Dadelszen about business visibility, camera confidence and the way your voice helps people connect with you.

We explore her four Ps - pitch, pace, power and pause -and how small changes can help your message land. Helen shares practical ways to feel more natural on camera, introduce your work and grow a supportive network through real conversations.

For women entrepreneur / founders, coaches and women building a wellbeing business or healing practice, this conversation brings a human perspective to authentic marketing: letting people hear your knowledge, feel your energy and understand your approach.

In this episode
  • How your voice supports your brand positioning.
  • The power of a pause: space to breathe, think and let your message land.
  • Simple ways to practise camera confidence.
  • Using founder content to communicate your personality and expertise.
  • Growing authority through conversations, connections and a book.

In this episode, we chat about

Ingrid Bayer's story is a masterclass in what midlife reinvention actually requires - and why women don't have to wait for a crisis to start asking who they still get to become.

She built her first business escaping workplace bullying in 2008 when virtual assisting wasn't even a thing yet. She built her second business (VA Institute in 2017) helping 2,000 women do the same. She grew through quiet marketing, relationship-based, permission-giving growth—not loud tactics.

She sold the business, went to Bali, wrote a book, and started asking a completely different question: Who do I still get to become?

Now at 63, she's building her third act.

Topics: midlife reinvention, building business after 40, business over 40, women entrepreneurs over 40, quiet marketing, quiet leadership, career transition, virtual assistant business, VA business, toxic workplace, burnout at work, women in business over 40, business advice for women

What You'll Learn

How workplace bullying became her greatest catalyst

The three-month exit strategy - how she tested her VA business on weekends and after hours before leaving her toxic job safely

Why helping 2,000 women build income streams wasn't the end of her story - what forced her to let go of the identity she'd built everything around

Finding your tribe before your confidence

In this solo episode:

You are taking your first steps, building your business, growing your business visibility and learning to be seen by others. Solo episodes are a difficult process for so many of us at this stage. I find it so much easier to interview people, and solo episodes are still a process for me as well.

I bring you along in my process: journaling, recording on audio, then using the transcript to build a content waterfall from one high-value long form asset and one key opinion.

I also share how your exact words, tone and voice are kept when she produces content for clients, so nothing feels artificial or like something ChatGPT has reproduced.

When SunnyChapter produces content for you

When Melanie works with clients to produce content, she follows this exact same format, starting with the interview conversation. Your tone of voice, the way you speak, your opinions and your words are kept exactly as you share them in the interview. Your exact words, tone and voice are turned into different content assets that help grow your visibility and promote your work.

Who this episode is for

You, if you are taking first steps in building your business, growing your visibility and learning to be seen by others.

Topics: solo podcast episodes, content waterfall strategy, multiplier framework, repurposing content workflow, journaling for content, audio to content, podcast repurposing, thought leadership, carousel posts, lead magnet, visibility, find your voice

In this episode, we chat about

The sky is the limit, wie Christin sagt.

Get The Sunday Shift - Learn how to get happily visible

In this solo episode:

Men Don't Ask If They're Qualified. They Ask If It's Profitable. And so it happens that a market that we know much more about than men, understand better than men, is being taken over by men. It's time we get over ourselves and start talking about how we can help and make the impact in areas that belong to us.

I talk about the confidence gap holding women over 40 back from starting a business -especially in alternative health, wellness, and hormone-focused fields. Inspired by watching men promote hormone and perimenopause coaching businesses without hesitation (or lived experience) I need to give you a little pep talk and unpack why women wait for permission, credentials, and certainty before they start -and why men rarely do. Not in business and not in corporate when they go after a job.

If you're a woman in corporate considering a career change into entrepreneurship, coaching, or wellness, this episode is your permission slip to stop waiting to feel ready and start being visible now, find your voice, share your story. Building trust takes time, so you best start today :)

Keywords worked in naturally: women over 40, starting a business, alternative health, wellness, hormone coaching, perimenopause, confidence gap, corporate career change, entrepreneurship, visibility, permission slip

Authentic Visibility Marketing for Somatic and Transformational Practitioners: The Translation Gap Keeping You Invisible10 Aug 202600:25:14

If you got value from this episode - share it with a friend!

This week I am looking for 5 women that fit the profile I describe in this episode for a 15min research call 5-7 questions - in return I produce a content edit for you. Interested? apply at hey@sunnychapter.com

Get The Sunday Shift - Learn how to get happily visible

In this solo episode:

I have watched the same thing happen over and over with the women I follow and interview in the somatic and holistic health space. They live in this particular world every day. Somatic inner work, breath work, energy work, healing, it's so normal for them, so understandable. But when they try to talk about it publicly, the people listening have no access to the type of terminology they use, or to how exactly this work transforms a life.

So they get stuck right there. They know they need to be visible online. At the same time, it doesn't come naturally to them. Most of them build their client base through referrals, through friends recommending friends, because this work is trust-based. People don't buy coaching or therapy because they can judge the quality beforehand. They buy because they trust the person. Yet most marketing teaches people to perform instead of connect.

This is exactly why I renamed this podcast from Mama What's Next to Happily Visible.

I've spent 20-plus years in marketing, working with brands like Davidoff, Rimmel, and Shiseido. I bring that same background now to the women I love working with most: those who left corporate due to burnout, pay gaps, and structures that don't support motherhood, and who redirected into alternative health, holistic practices, wellness, coaching, and somatic work. They arrive with deep expertise and zero marketing infrastructure. Many of them are also women over 40, rebuilding on their own terms, in a body and a life stage that asks for something more honest than hustle-driven content.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • Why I renamed the show Happily Visible, and what founder storytelling, visibility marketing, and visibility healing mean as the three pillars behind it
  • Why the somatic therapy market is growing at 17.5% annually, and what that means for emerging roles like nervous system coach, trauma-informed wellness coach, breath work facilitator, and craniosacral therapist
  • How I used founder story, not trend-chasing, to build a global campaign for Davidoff around Zino Davidoff as an explorer, an adventurer, and a connoisseur
  • Why the best marketing is not created, it's uncovered, and what that actually means in practice
  • My new offer: a 60 to 90 minute story, brand, visibility session built around your story, your expertise, your methods, your social proof, so you can sell your work and promote yourself in a way that feels natural, not performative

from the episode:

"People don't buy coaching or therapy because they can judge the quality beforehand. They buy because they trust the person. Yet most marketing teaches people to perform instead of connect." Mel Elsbeth

"The best marketing is not created. It's uncovered." Mel Elsbeth

In this solo episode:

Mein heutiger Gast: Sabrina Rest.

Über 20 Jahre Personalbereich. Recruiting, Führung, Head of HR.

In this episode, we chat about

Samantha Flores ran a $2 billion business across EMEA at Nike for 19 years. And when she left to build her own business, the hardest part was not the strategy. It was learning how to sell herself with no brand name to hide behind.

If you have left corporate to build your own business and you are finding visibility ten times harder than you expected, this is exactly why. Inside corporate you were never selling yourself. You were selling the brand. The brand was the safety net. The brand was the credibility. And now you are all three.

What Samantha did before she left is what gave her the space to actually build. For years she put 30 to 40% of her salary straight into an investment account. Before she had a business idea. Before she had a plan. That buffer meant she could build without the pressure of needing it to work immediately destroying her at every turn.

A year and a half into building her business she has reached 1200 people through Facebook ads, run monthly masterclasses, and gone back to the beginning to build a personalised diagnostic because she realised most women she works with do not actually need more information. They need clarity on exactly what is blocking them first.

She is not pretending it has been clean. She is sharing what worked, what she rebuilt, and the one thing that separates the women who get momentum from the ones who stay stuck wondering what they are doing wrong.

You cannot score without a goal.

The women she works with can describe in painful detail everything they walked away from. The manager who did not see them. The work that stopped meaning something. But when she asks what they actually want to build instead, there is silence. And that silence is where the business stalls before it ever gets started.

If you are building a business after 40 and you left a senior corporate career to do it, this conversation is going to feel like someone finally said the quiet part out loud.

In this solo episode:

So today I want to share one of my all time favourite episodes again, one I recorded a while back that still feels so relevant. This is the one where I talk about what happens when we don't quite get what we want, and why I really believe that happens for a reason.

I tell the story of interviewing for a position at this big international fashion house. Old school, beautiful building, the kind of place you imagine in Paris, even though this one was in Switzerland. And my ego absolutely loved it. The job title, the brand, all of it. But from the very first meeting, I had this icky feeling in my stomach. People clocking in and out on this old machine on the wall. And I just thought, oh, is this what they do here. I kept going anyway because my ego wanted it so badly. And then I didn't get the job. And looking back, I know exactly why. It just wasn't right for me. Me and a close friend used to say, sometimes presents come wrapped in shitty paper. And that was one of them.

This episode is really about trusting that voice and that feeling in your body, even when your ego is busy telling you something else. I talk about being multi passionate, having worked in over 30 jobs across about 20 different categories, and how I've stopped fighting that part of myself and instead built a business and a life around it.

I also go deep into faith. My belief that there is a higher power supporting us, whatever you want to call it, God, the universe, Mother Gaia, and that whatever happens, happens for us, not to us. The hardships, the doors that close, the jobs that don't work out, I believe all of it is preparing us for exactly where we're meant to go.

If you're in a pivotal moment right now, feeling unsure or a little lost, or wondering why something you wanted so badly didn't work out, I hope this is the episode that reminds you. Not every closed door is a loss. Sometimes it's protection.

Topics covered in this episode:

Why a job and career that looks perfect on paper can still feel completely wrong in your body. The difference between what my ego wanted and what was actually aligned for me. Why being multi passionate isn't something I needed to fix, it's something I built my business around. How to find a corporate role or company that actually fits who you are, because not every corporate path is the wrong path. Trusting that everything happening is happening for you, even when it doesn't feel that way yet. The question I always ask myself when I'm stuck: what's the actual worst thing that could happen.

Topics: career change for moms, trusting your intuition career, signs a job isn't right for you, faith and career change, finding purpose in your career, corporate career fit, women changing careers in their 40s, listening to your body career decisions, everything happens for a reason career, multi passionate career path

I almost deleted the email. The word "viral" in the subject line nearly made me close the tab. But something called me in, and what I found on the other side changed everything about how I think about building my business visibility.

In this episode I share why I quietly resisted networking for over a year, what finally made me say yes, and what happened when I walked into the right room. This coming from someone who has previously thought building visibility without social media does not really work.

Key insights from this episode:

Why one bad networking event wrote a rule in my mind that cost me a year of connection, and why that rule deserved to be questioned

What I found in a room of women at the same stage, grappling with the same questions, feeling the same loneliness of building something new after corporate, and business after 40

How hearing my ideal clients speak in their own words changed how I understand the people I want to help

Why my energy shifted the moment I walked in, even though I had almost talked myself out of going

What Mallorca specifically attracts, and why the people in that room were exactly my kind of people

Why the social media workshop became far more than a classroom, and what that taught me about authentic visibility marketing and connection

In today's interview episode, we chat about: Leaving corporate and feeling invisible: why high-performing women lose their voice the moment they start building

Samantha Flores spent 19 years climbing the corporate ladder, most recently as Senior Director of Digital Commerce at Nike Europe, leading a $2 billion business across the Middle East and Africa. She left in January 2026, not from burnout, not from bitterness, but full of clarity, conviction, and a vision for what comes next.

In this first conversation with Samantha, we go deep into what actually made her corporate career so successful and why so many high-performing women stay stuck, even with the best performance reviews.

We talk about the internal narrative that runs the show in meetings, the belief that you need the title before you earn the right to be visible, and the very real weight of showing up in rooms where the loudest voice has always belonged to someone else.

Samantha shares what changed when she stopped asking what she needed to do and started asking what the goal actually required from her. That shift is what unlocked everything.

We also get into what nobody warns you about when you leave a big brand behind. In corporate, visibility felt natural. You were representing Nike. The logo carried weight. Then suddenly it's just you, your name, your business, and that brings up a whole different kind of work.

Samantha is building the Powerhouse Code, a platform helping high-performing women in senior corporate roles land that next level leadership position. And even as someone who teaches strategic visibility, she talks honestly about the voices that still show up when she hits publish.

This episode is Part 1. In Part 2, Samantha shares the actual strategies she used to build visibility, her playbook for positioning, and what building her business looks like now.

Topics covered in this episode:

Why great performance reviews keep women stuck rather than moving them forward. The internal script running in the background for most women in senior meetings. What strategic visibility actually means and how Samantha learned to use it. The difference between marketing a brand and marketing yourself. Why leaving corporate with excitement instead of exhaustion changes everything about how you build what comes next.

Keywords: women leaving corporate, second act after 40, strategic visibility for women, high performing women stuck, women in leadership, solopreneur journey, building a personal brand, imposter syndrome women, Nike executive career, women over 40 entrepreneurship, Powerhouse Code, career transition women

This is a quick re-introduction of how I work and support women in business and what I belief in.

Mel shares what she noticed happening in the online space and what she decided to do about it. Transformational coaches she once admired. Episodes generated in minutes. No original thinking. She unfollowed. And she felt sad about some of them.

What she landed on, for her own content and for the women she supports building businesses after 40 around transformational work, is rooted in one belief. Lived experience, pain, and emotion cannot be replicated by AI. Real human conversation, real stories, and real thinking are what build visibility and trust. That is authentic marketing.

In this episode Mel walks through her full content creation process, from long form journaling and downloads, to interviews and conversations that keep a founder's energy natural and alive, to how AI enters only after the human ideas already exist.

Why lived experience creates content that builds real connection

How her content production process works from interview to newsletter to social

Why conversation keeps a founder's energy natural and alive

Why becoming understood builds visibility for women doing transformational work

Becoming understood is what builds trust. And trust is what builds a business.

This week's episode is about exactly that.

Thanks for checking in!

So I want to share with you a little bit about my very own struggle as a multi-passionate entrepreneur, as a mom who has run several business projects.

It's something that I keep running into over and over again.

So I thought I had landed on something so fantastic for me. But somehow in my body I felt that something was holding me back, that some of my ideal clients will not see themselves into that particular type of work that I wanted to focus on.

So when I now talk about my very own positioning struggle, I can tell you I want something memorable, recognizable, and where it makes click for people. Something where the name already carries what I do. And after two years and close to 100 episodes, that name Mama What's Next may have to evolve. And that's okay.

Anna left corporate in 2013 with no plan. She traveled through South America, discovered coaching, and spent years in what she calls her hippie phase — earning very little, figuring it out slowly, living on her own terms.

In this episode we look at what the real timeline for building a somatic or holistic business actually looks like — and why the wandering years are exactly where the work happens.

What we cover:

The three phases every somatic practitioner, holistic coach, and healing business goes through - exploration, focusing, and building — and what each one actually requires from you.

Why most marketing advice for therapists and holistic practitioners skips the messy middle entirely and what to do instead.

How women over 40 who left corporate are building service businesses and somatic practices on their own terms.

For women entrepreneurs over 40 who feel called to be visible online but are held back by the fear of being seen or judged. This episode shares 5 tiny habits that helped me move from self‑doubt, push through fear to being seen, trusted, and actually found online.

What you’ll hear:

  • Why scrolling through other women’s bold posts makes us say “I could never do that.”
  • Habit 1: Reframe self‑promotion as service storytelling—who are you really helping with this message?
  • Habit 2: Remind yourself that nobody cares (in the best way)—and how that frees you to be imperfect.
  • Habit 3: Daily micro‑visibility practice on LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram—showing messy, in‑progress work instead of only the highlight reel.
  • Habit 4: Shift from “expert” to “guide”—using your lived experience, not perfection, to lead others.
  • Habit 5: Become a professional like Steven Pressfield teaches—asking, “What would the professional do now?” and doing it anyway, fear and all.

You’ll also hear how I went from being too scared to ask a waiter for ketchup to running a podcast, being filmed, and attracting clients through my visibility work, plus how my Sunny Chapter offer turns interviews into real marketing assets for women who aren’t yet comfortable being seen.

When You’ve Already Jumped: The Invisible Weight of Reinvention for Women Over 40

Hey lovely, this episode is for a very specific woman… and it might be you.

We hear a lot about the “30-something woman with a title, a salary and no idea what she should do instead.” But what about the woman who already made the decision? The one who didn’t just wonder - she actually did it. She jumped.

She left the title.

She’s building something between school pickup, a mortgage, and a savings account that’s getting smaller every month.

And then there’s that 2 a.m. moment… when everything is quiet and your brain whispers: did I make a terrible mistake?

This episode speaks directly to her.

Why Brilliant Women Stay Invisible Online?

Yes - it's hard to understand.. because

You have certifications, years of real conversations, real clients, real impact. Your knowledge is deeply earned - not downloaded from an AI system.

And yet… you’re still invisible online.

Key Takeaways for Women over 40
  • How to become visible? Stop identifying as the product and serve your people instead.
  • Overcome visibility blocks by asking: "What do my people need to hear today?" not "Am I perfect?"

  • Build personal branding through authentic storytelling that creates resonance and trust

Turn Your Next Chapter Into Visible, Meaningful Work: work with me and start your Sunny Chapter Edit

In today's episode:

When a high school counsellor laughed at her ambitions, she didn't shrink. She decided to prove him wrong. And she's been doing exactly that ever since.

This week I'm sitting down with Aimee Rickabus, CEO of a nine-figure tech company, mum of six, author and host of The Manage Her podcast. And what I love most about this conversation is not what she's built, though that is genuinely impressive. It's how she thinks about what we do as women, as mothers, as builders of businesses and families and lives.

Because Aimee makes something really clear that I think a lot of us need to hear right now. Everything you are already doing, managing the calendars, the chaos, the people, the systems, the invisible labor that holds everything together, that is leadership. That is high level skilled work. And we have been doing it our whole lives without ever giving ourselves credit for it.

We talk about what it really takes to build a business as a mom entrepreneur in your next chapter without burning yourself out. We talk about presence, technology boundaries, breaking the patterns we picked up from our mothers that no longer serve us. We talk about why working for yourself as a woman over 40 might actually be the move that finally gives you the balance you've been chasing. And we talk about the invisible pressure women carry and how to start putting it down.

This one is for you if you are in your 40s or beyond and you are rebuilding, reinventing or figuring out what your next chapter even looks like. If you are tired of hiding the real parts of your life and you are ready to build something visible, something meaningful, something that actually works for your real life as a woman and a mother.

What you'll take away:

  • Motherhood is leadership and it's time we owned it with the language to match
  • Presence over hustle, one focused hour beats trying to do everything at once every single time
  • Self management comes before everything else, you cannot lead a business or a family running on empty
  • Tech boundaries are not optional, they are how you protect your attention, your relationships and your sanity
  • Your next chapter business works best when it fits your real life season not someone else's version of success
  • The invisible work you have been doing your whole life is exactly the skill set that makes you a powerful entrepreneur

In this solo episode: Why Marketing Feels Fake for So Many Women Over 40

hint: it’s because you've ditched the 'Good Girl'

In this episode, we explore why marketing feels fake for so many women over 40 and why so much visibility advice can feel disconnected from the kind of work you actually do.

If you’re building meaningful work or a business after burnout, reinvention, or a major life shift, you need less performative marketing and a clearer way to communicate your message.

We talk about how to stop performing, choose the right visibility lane - one that works for your target market AND one that you love - and market your business and build business visibility in a way that feels more natural, aligned, and effective.

You're leaving 9 to 5 to do work that's meaningful and need to become visible to do it? work with me and start your Sunny Chapter Edit

In this solo episode, I chat about:

In 2026, expertise alone doesn't get you chosen anymore. The right people need to feel who you are, see your energy, and understand why you do this work before they ever meet you.

And there's one tool that does this better than anything else: video.

In this solo episode, I'm breaking down why video works for mission-driven women building portfolio careers and multiple income streams, even if you hate being on camera. I'm sharing a real example of how one woman landed a teaching role because a school found her podcast interview online.

This isn't about becoming a content creator. It's about being findable when the right opportunity comes looking. It's about creating a strategic, short pitch that shows who you are, why you're excited about the role, and why your skills matter for this specific company.

Especially with AI flooding hiring managers' inboxes with 250+ applications per role, video as the one tool cuts through the noise and gets you to the shortlist faster than anything else.

Check out this episode if:

- You're applying for contract jobs or pitching for freelance work and getting ghosted

- You're over 40, rebuilding your career or service-based business and struggling to stand out

- You hate the idea of being on camera but know you need to do it

- You have valuable experience but your CV or online world isn't communicating it effectively

- You're building a portfolio career or service-based business , need a visibility strategy and need clients to choose you

If you're pitching for freelance work, applying for contract jobs, or building a portfolio career, this episode will explain how to stand out as a human in an AI-saturated job market and women over 40 careers.

ABOUT MEL:

I'm Mel, a visibility and brand strategist helping women over 40 tell the story of their next chapter in a way that makes the right people say yes.

At SunnyChapter.com I work with women who are rebuilding, reinventing, or expanding through freelance, business, or portfolio careers and who need to become visible to make it happen.

I'm also solo parent who's built a portfolio career across multiple companies and contract roles because that feels like the safest, freest option for me. And I'm an introvert who had to teach myself video because hiding in the background isn't an option anymore.

You're leaving corporate to do work that matters? Here is a gentler way to turn your story into visibility: work with me and start your Sunny Chapter Edit

About today's episode:

What if the guilt you feel when you finally put yourself first is actually proof you're growing?

This week I'm sitting down with Gifty Enright - women's leadership coach, author, TEDx speaker, and someone who has genuinely lived what she teaches. After 30 years in corporate, tracking 14 health symptoms on a spreadsheet and running herself into the ground, she went and found her own answers. Now she helps working women and mothers stop burning out and start building lives that actually feel good to be in.

We go deep on why so many capable women are secretly running on empty - and it's not a time management problem. It's a self-esteem problem. We talk about guilt and what it's really telling you, why owning your new role as the "chief nappy changer" role might be the most powerful thing you do, and the one micro-step you can take today even if you have zero time and zero energy.

What we talk about:

  • The untold power of motherhood and the importance of raising future leaders
  • Filling your own cup is not selfish - it's part of the job. When you run on empty, the people you love most feel it most - your kids.
  • The overwhelm and the doing of a million things is usually a self-esteem issue, not a productivity one
  • Women in the workplace - from high functioning to burnout
  • Know what you actually want - so many of us are quietly living out someone else's version of success
  • Superpower Mother: You are a change master. Everything women navigate and adapt to? It's time we take credit for that
  • Women's life stages: Power, strategic visibility & society's expectations

Was dich in dieser Episode erwartet:

  • Wie Katja als eine der Ersten im deutschsprachigen Raum Vanlife auf YouTube dokumentiert hat
  • Warum YouTube heute viel schwieriger geworden ist — und was wirklich hinter der Monetarisierung steckt
  • Wie Schulpflicht und Reisen mit Kind in Deutschland wirklich funktionieren

You left corporate to do work that matters? Tell me your story and build trust: work with me and create your Sunny Chapter Edit

What if the return-to-office mandate isn't about collaboration at all - but about real estate investments and control? This week, we're exposing the truth about why trust is eroding at work, why women are the first to see through it, and how to build your own flexibility before you're forced to react.

Companies are demanding you return to the office while simultaneously talking about AI replacing jobs. The math isn't mathing. In this episode, remote work futurist Nola Simon breaks down what's really happening - and how to position yourself ahead of the curve instead of waiting to be managed out.

The future of work isn't coming. It's here. And if you're a woman, a mother, or someone building meaningful work without the performance theatre, this conversation matters.

Nola Simon, a future of work strategist and remote work futurist, joins the podcast to talk about what's really driving return-to-office mandates, why trust in leadership is breaking down, and how women—especially caregivers and multi-passionate entrepreneurs—are quietly redesigning work on their terms.

This isn't about trends. It's about agency, self-trust, and preparing yourself for what's next without waiting for anyone's permission.

In this episode, we chat about the future of work for moms:

  • Why return-to-office mandates are really about commercial real estate (not productivity)
  • How trust erosion between employees and leadership is reshaping the workplace
  • The hidden pattern women notice first: values vs. behavior gaps in company culture
  • Why portfolio careers and flexibility aren't side hustles—they're strategic safety nets
  • How to practice "everyday futurism" and prepare for change before you're forced to react
  • The critical difference between your job title and your actual skill set
  • Why the most valuable work (connection, ERGs, community building) is still unpaid—and mostly done by women

Don't miss this episode if:

  • You're tired of waiting for work to go "back to normal"
  • You're considering building income streams outside traditional employment
  • You're a working mom navigating flexibility, caregiving, and career simultaneously
  • You sense something is off at your company but can't quite name it
  • You want to future-proof your career without burning out

Quick key notes from our interview:
  1. Stop waiting for work to go back to normal. Design your own normal. If your job disappeared tomorrow, what would you want your work life to look like? Start moving toward that now.
  2. Treat flexibility like a strategy, not a request. Audit your role: which parts truly require you to be in a specific place? Use that clarity to negotiate.
  3. Build optionality before you need it. One income stream = one point of failure. Choose one low-pressure way to expand your income and skills this year.
  4. Practice everyday futurism. Run scenarios: What if my role changed? What if my company downsized? What skills or income streams would help me feel confident?
  5. Trust your pattern recognition—it's a leadership skill. When you notice repeating patterns (disengagement, fear, unclear leadership), use that insight to inform your next move.
  6. Separate your identity from your job title. You are more than one role, one company, or one chapter. Your transferable skills travel with you.
  7. Build self-trust through small repetitions. Make one decision this month that prioritizes your future self, even if it feels uncomfortable.

Turn your story into influence: work with me

I love to start my Sunday mornings with a lie in, morning coffee in hand, piano playlist in the background, candles, reading my book and enjoying the slowness before I start the day. I love doing that on Sundays.

I just read the following sentence:

“Criticism of the project is not criticism of you. You do not equal the project.”

I am reading these lines on page 47 of the book Purple Cow by Seth Godin. I am getting surprisingly emotional. It’s just a small paragraph in a book filled with observations about creative marketing in crowded marketplaces.

I am reading… “Being safe is risky”.

In the book he points out, that we have been raised with a false belief: that criticism leads to failure.

Just think about the school system or the way you grew up in your family.

A business that is boring, won’t attract much criticism. It will also not stand out and become highly successful. So, by avoiding negative feedback, by staying safe, I am potentially avoiding success?

It’s Time to take One Step Outside.

2026 is the year of the Solopreneur Revolution - How Women are Designing Work That Loves Them Back

The old rules are dying. The 40-hour work week, the corporate ladder, the "lean in" narrative, basically all of it was built for a world that is crumbling. And working mothers in 2026 are done playing a game they can't win.

Anna Lundberg spent a decade building a solopreneur business that runs on 20 hours a week, term-time only. She's present for her two kids. And she earns a great living coaching women who are redesigning their own careers around fractional roles, consulting gigs, and portfolio businesses.

We're not talking about creating more work-life balance. It's much more about intentional work-life design. It's about understanding that you don't have to blow up your whole life to build something different. You just have to take one step. And Anna breaks down exactly what those steps look like - taking you from positioning yourself in fractional roles to building a business model that doesn't require you to hustle, perform, or prove anything to anyone.

The corporate playbook failed working mothers. So we're writing a new one. And it starts here.

What You'll Learn

Why the corporate system is broken for mothers—and why tweaking it with flexible Fridays isn't enough anymore

What fractional work actually means—and how it's giving women stability plus flexibility without full-time corporate demands

The positioning trap senior leaders fall into—why showing "everything you've done" on your resume actually hurts you in freelance and fractional roles

How to transition while still employed—practical steps to build optionality before burnout or redundancy forces your hand

Anna's real journey—from her "hippie phase" to 5am client calls with a newborn to her current 4-hour workdays

The AI advantage for solopreneurs—how technology is finally giving independent workers capabilities that used to require entire teams

The Solopreneur Operating System—Anna's framework for designing your business, creating demand, and making delivery sustainable

The Clarity Tool I Wish I had Years Ago as a Multipassionate Entrepreneur & Mama14 Jan 202600:16:52

If you are a multi-passionate mum and entrepreneur, chances are your mind is rarely quiet. Ideas, emotions, plans, to-do lists, responsibilities, and creative sparks all compete for attention at the same time. Creating clarity inside that chaos can feel almost impossible.

Especially as a multipassionate creative and mama, there is a never-ending stream of ideas and projects you want to explore.

In this episode of Mama What’s Next, Melanie shares a simple daily writing practice that has helped her create calm, focus, and direction as a multi-passionate mum and entrepreneur: Morning Pages, a tool from The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.

She talks about why this practice feels awkward at first, why consistency matters more than perfection, and how writing by hand helps clear mental clutter, reduce anxiety, and turn scattered energy into focused action.

This episode is for multi-passionate mums and women entrepreneurs who feel pulled in many directions and want a grounded way to build a sustainable business without losing themselves in the process.

In This Episode, We Talk About:
  • What Morning Pages are and how they work
  • Why handwriting and stream-of-consciousness writing matter
  • How Morning Pages reduce anxiety and negative self-talk
  • Creating clarity amid chaos and too many ideas
  • Why compassion and flexibility are part of the practice
  • Turning scattered thoughts into focused action
  • How Morning Pages support sustainable business growth
  • Using daily writing to prioritize what truly matters

You Can’t Grow a Business If You’re Always Jumping (Building a sustainable business as a Multi-Passionate Mom Founder)12 Jan 202600:20:07

Building a business as a multi-passionate mum sounds expansive and fun- until it starts holding you back.

In this episode of Mama What’s Next, Melanie speaks about the tension between loving many things and needing to stick with one long enough to grow it. She shares the reality of being good at many skills, why niching down doesn’t always work for multi-passionate mums, and how creating a “brand umbrella” can be a more sustainable way to build meaningful work- without hustle, non-performative, or pretending to be someone you’re not.

This episode is for working mums and mom entrepreneurs who are tired of jumping from one thing to the next and are ready to make real growth happen.

Examples that are referenced-

  1. The Long and the Short of It, a podcast by Peter Sheahan and Jen Waldman
  2. Madison | Entrepreneur (@multipassionatemadison)
  3. Seth Godin

In This Episode, We Talk About:

  • Why jumping between ideas makes sustainable growth impossible
  • The hidden struggle of being multi-passionate and highly capable
  • Why being good at everything can hold your business back
  • Building a business without niching yourself into unhappiness
  • Creating a brand umbrella instead of forcing focus
  • The question every multi-passionate mum needs to ask: what do I want to be known for?
  • Why boredom doesn’t mean you should quit — and when it actually does

  • Welche Tools konkret helfen: Breathwork, zeremonielle Kakao, Kundalini Yoga, feminine Archetypen, Human Design

How to Break the Cycle of Self-Criticism 10 Nov 202500:13:25

Struggling to stay consistent with your new habits and being disciplined in your work? You're not alone!

Let's talk about the importance of self-compassion and tiny steps towards change and how to be kinder to yourself when trying to change (and why your kids need to see it!)

I often explore my own personal challenges through the podcast and this week I reflect on how me trying to change my habbits and patterns affects me, how I handle setbacks and how I improve going forward.

In this episode:

I talk about the importance of discipline and the challenges of forming new habits, particularly in the context of working from home.

I reflect on the the impact of generational patterns on behavior and the significance of role modeling for our children.

I talk about why mindfulness and self-compassion are so important when attempting to change habits, advocating for small, manageable goals to foster sustainable change.

When Your World Ends, Start Creating: The Debbie Weiss Midlife Reinvention Story That Will Change How You See "The Right Time"05 Nov 202500:27:57

This is Part 2 of the career and life journey with Debbie Weiss

"I never want to stop saying what's next."

Guest: Debbie Weiss - Bestselling author, speaker, and creator of "The Sprinkle Effect"

What happens when you spend 50 years being the responsible one and suddenly realize you've lost yourself completely?

Debbie Weiss spent three decades running an insurance agency, caring for a father with special needs for 30 years, raising a son on the autism spectrum, and supporting a husband battling mental illness. She was the person everyone leaned on. The one who always did the right thing. The one who handled everything.

But inside? She was miserable and didn't even know it.

At 50, a weekend away with friends changed everything. Debbie realized she'd spent half a century living for everyone else and had no idea who she actually was or what she wanted. Watching her parents live with regret, she made a decision: this wasn't going to be her story.

Now, at 62, while her friends talk retirement, Debbie is just getting started. She's a bestselling author with viral TikTok videos (3.7 million views!), has appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and is building an entirely new career helping others step out of victim mode and into their authentic lives. Always afraid to speak in front of people she finally pushes through that fear and realizes - maybe that's what she came here in the end.

On Creating During Crisis

  • Why Debbie's therapist told her to take a writing course when her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer
  • How writing 3,000 words a week gave her control when everything else was spinning
  • The truth about finishing her book two weeks after her husband died

On Fear and Speaking

  • From terrified insurance agent to discovering her superpower on stage
  • Why 85-90% of what we worry about never happens (and the rest is never as bad as we think)
  • The moment she couldn't wait to give her next speech

On Starting at 62

  • Creating sprinkle gift boxes, gratitude journals, and card decks, all brand new ventures
  • Why "what's next, what's next, what's next" is her favourite question
  • How sprinkles became a metaphor for adding joy to life's journey

The Accountant Who Found Her Sparkle And Became a Bestselling Author: Debbie Weiss on Starting Over at 62 #careerreinvention19 Oct 202500:38:54

Always afraid to speak in front of people she finally pushes through that fear and realizes - maybe that's what she came here in the end.

Key Takeaways:

  • Why waiting for the "perfect time" to pursue your dreams means you'll wait forever
  • The turning point moment that made Debbie realize she'd lost herself completely
  • How she discovered she was creative after spending 50 years convinced she "didn't have a creative bone in her body"
  • The game-changing mindset shift from "I'm not this" to "what if I could be?"
  • Why authenticity on social media (messy hair and all) connects more than perfection
  • How one vulnerable speech changed the entire trajectory of her life
  • What it really means to stop being a victim of your circumstances

Quotes:

  • "I don't want to be that person at the end of my life looking back saying, man, it flew by so quickly and I didn't do what I was here to do."
  • "When you suppress yourself, you're suffering. You're trying to hide because what will people think of you?"
  • "If you don't let your true self come through, just realize that you're not reaching and helping the people that you were meant to help."
  • "I'm not creative while literally creating all these amazing things it's so typical for us women, isn't it?"

1500 Situps: The 30-day sit-up challenge to build discipline with my 8-year old 25 Sep 202500:11:35

Today's co-host is my daughter Stella

Connecting with your kids can be super challenging at times when you are super busy.  I get it.

Instilling discipline into your child's day-to-day routine and even make it fun, can be even more challenging. And yet- discipline is important for success in life.

Not just for our kids - for us too.

Many successful people cite discipline as their main key ingredient for success.

Discipline gets a bad rap but actually - we can really truly free our mind and boost productivity by creating habits and orderliness that in turn create a free mind and strong foundation for success.

And don't get me wrong.. I am not a master at this AT ALL.

But it turns out.. my 8-year old daughter Stella is.

So we created a 30-Day Challenge that did not just show her how fun commitment and discipline can be, it brought us closer together by doing it together. Highly recommend to any mum looking for a fun way to engage and connect with their children, it was SO much fun. And - we both felt an amazing sense of achievement. This little exercise was GOLD in SO many ways.

PS.

From Graphic Designer to Building a Holistic Wellness Practice Mighty Mama & Mom Entrepreneur (And Why Your Health Is Your Family's Heartbeat)19 Sep 202500:54:57

What if the key to being a better mom isn't working harder, but taking care of yourself first?

Today, meet: Working mom Moriah from Mighty Mama Coaching in Canada, who works in personal training and health coaching specificallyfor moms. She went from feeling trapped at a desk to helping moms discover that their health isn't selfish, it's the foundation their whole family needs.

Moriah's journey is beautifully messy and real. She studiedgraphic design, felt like she was in prison sitting at a desk all day, and had the courage to completely pivot. Through life in England, Costa Rica, and raising a toddler, she discovered her true calling: reminding moms that their health is the heartbeat of their whole family.

Key Learnings

Your Health = Your Family's Foundation

She says: "Your health isn't just your own. It's the heartbeat of your whole family." When moms prioritize their health, it creates a ripple effect that benefits everyone. You're not being selfish, you're modeling healthy habits and showing up as your best self.

Make Fitness Fun, Not a Chore

Forget intimidating gym culture. When you enjoy something, you'll actually stick with it. Moriah brings joy and playfulness to fitness because sustainable change happens when it feels good.

Start Small, Build Momentum

Don't try to transform overnight. Even one or two workoutsper week is better than nothing. Small consistent actions build the momentum that creates lasting change.

Strength Training Is Non-Negotiable

Especially after having kids. Think about being able tocatch yourself if you slip on ice at 70, or getting up from the floor without help. It's about staying strong and independent as you age.

You Don't Need a Gym

You can build strength at home with bodyweight exercises orbasic weights. Your living room works just as well as any fancy gym.

Community Changes Everything

We weren't meant to do this alone. Having people whounderstand your journey makes all the difference, whether it's fitness, career changes, or motherhood.

Stop the Comparison Game (and important one for all of us)

Stop measuring yourself against people who are 20 stepsahead. The right people will be drawn to YOUR unique approach, not the shiny object everyone else is chasing.

Trust Your Body and Heart

If something doesn't feel aligned, your career, workout routine, or life choices, then trust that feeling. It's easier to make a change now than stay uncomfortable and miserable forever.

3 Mindset Shifts That Helped This Working mom Go from Graphic Designer to Purpose-Driven Entrepreneur

Nadine Krischke begleitet introvertierte Frauen beim Aufbau ihres Herzensbusiness.

Was willst du? Nicht dein Umfeld, nicht Instagram-Gurus. Deine Werte, deine Vision, deine Aufgabe.

Deine Vielseitigkeit ist deine Stärke

Multi-passionate? Multi-hyphenate?

  1. Gesellschaftliche Erwartungen
  2. Familienmeinungen ("Mach doch was Sicheres!")

Klingt spannend? Hör rein!

PS. heute hatte ich leider kleine Microschwierigkeiten, beim nächsten Mal wieder besser!

Why Ownership is The New Black03 Sep 202500:24:26

Program enrolment this week for 5 days

Join the Priority List now for the 6-Week-Co-Creative Website

This week sharing with you our newest program and explain the thing about websites versus social media: you're building a house on rented land when you rely solely on Instagram and TikTok, where algorithms can decide your visibility and less than 2% of your followers actually see your posts.

Meanwhile, your website (if built well) can be your sales person 24/7 and your online HQ where visitors spend focused minutes (not distracted seconds) building trust with you before they buy. The magic isn't in creating the perfect website from day one - it's in building something flexible that grows with your inevitable pivots and changes, because every entrepreneur discovers that businesses evolve through trial and error, not perfection.

So this radically different program gives you that independence and ownership, letting you update and adapt without bleeding money to developers every time you need to tweak your positioning or add a new offer, which will happen faster than you think.

If you are ready to build now - make sure to join the list so you don't miss the launch this week, enrolment is open for 5 days.

Remember you're wild with Chris Maddox27 Aug 202501:00:19

This is a conversation about the divine feminine rising and our mother energy

and easily one of the most beautiful conversations I recently had when I was lucky enough to talk with Chris Maddox, founder of the Wild Woman Project, and honestly, I'm still getting goosebumps, when I listened to it now.

Chris never planned to create this global movement. She wasjust this young actress in New York City doing a project called "The Vagina Monologues" when she stumbled into her first women's circle.

The amazing part is, it only started with 'One vision of golden circles of light' scattered across the world later, and she's now trained hundreds of women in 26 countries to lead their own circles.

We talked about:

The power of speaking your truth out loud with other women (I can tell you - it's amazing, I just did it with total strangers and have been to a women's truth gathering circle myself recently here in Mallorca and Chris put into words exactly what I experienced) When you sit in that circle and share your deepest fears with women that you don't know, essentially, there's something so magical in this whole experience.

It looks so simple from the outside, but you walk away from this experience so strengthened inside. It has really touched me like to my core. Chris says it perfectly: when you speak from your heart in circle and it's witnessed, "it fortifies it in a way that's different than your own personal practice." Those passing pieces of guidance that come through? They become real, tangible, life changing.

We talk about her beautiful path from actress to women's circle leader.

If you're one of those women, you know, like the seekers, where you're standing at the edge of becoming and sometimes you just can't really grasp the thing just yet. Like you know that there's something there, that something is calling you, but you're not quite there yet... Chris has the most beautiful advice.

She talks about cultivating that conscious relationship between your mind and your inner guidance system. "Things take the time they take," she says, quoting Mary Oliver. But while you're being patient with the process, gather the clues. Notice what lights you up, what moves you, what you keep being drawn to.

Know where you're heading20 Aug 202500:13:36

What I've been doing every morning..

I wake up and before I even get out of bed, I meditate for 10-15 minutes while my daughter is asleep. I put on my headphones and use a Joe Dispenza meditation. Then after I drop her at school, I come home, make breakfast and coffee, and I sit down for just 10 minutes to journal (I really do! before I start anything else)

Here is something I started doing in August

It's a little thing I borrowed from Brian Tracey.

Every single morning, I write down my 10 most important goals like they've already happened. I write them in present tense, with so much gratitude, as if I'm already living them. And I don't look at what I wrote the day before. That's the trick.. then the magic happens.

Have a listen, this exercise helped me not just realize what is most important to me currently, it also makes me feel grateful and more confident and supported every morning.

Highly recommend!!

Do you know that feeling when you've outgrown your role, even when everyone else thinks you should be satisfied? When you sense there's something bigger calling you, but you can't quite put your finger on what it is?

That's exactly where my guest Olivia found herself - leading international expansions, closing 175 million euro deals, managing teams across continents. From the outside, it looked like the perfect corporate success story. But inside She knew she was meant for something more.

In this episode:

How becoming a mom can actually sharpen your focus on what truly matters - no more time for BS, as Olivia puts it

Why moving countries with your family is a completely different game than moving as a single person (and the unexpected challenges nobody prepares you for)

The power of looking at struggles as growth opportunities rather than roadblocks

How to build meaningful relationships in your business - because success really comes down to the quality of connections in your life

Why competition between women can actually be our greatest catalyst for growth (if we shift how we think about it)

The journey from serving large corporations to finding your purpose working with women entrepreneurs - and why that pivot changed everything

Key Takeaways for Career-Transitioning Moms:

  • Surrender the Fear and Serve Something Bigger
  • Stop making it about your insecurities and start focusing on how you can serve others. That's where real magic happens.
  • Success comes down to the quality of connections in your life. You don't need many, but make them meaningful.
  • Your Ideal Client Might Surprise You: Don't get too attachedto who you think you should serve. Stay open to who you're actually attracting.
  • Legal Foundation Matters for Online Entrepreneurs: Building an online business requires proper legal groundwork - but it doesn't have to be overwhelming with the right support.

You know that feeling when you're sitting in your comfortable life, but deep down you know there's something more calling you?

That restless energy that whispers "this isn't it" even when everything looks perfect on paper? That's exactly what happened to my guest Ioana Wilkinson. She had the house, the stable teaching job, the "should be happy" life - and yet something inside her was screaming for freedom, for travel, for a completely different way of living.

Have you done the 90-Second Truth Quiz to Check in with Your Soul?

In this episode, we talk about Ioana's beautiful journey from small-town Texas to Barcelona, Spain - how she left everything behind to chase her dreams, and how becoming a mom during COVID completely shifted her path into freelance writing and location independence, building a career in your suitcase.

We chat about the identity crisis that can come with motherhood, the fear of losing your freedom, and how spirituality became the foundation for building a business and life that actually works.

This conversation goes places most career podcasts won't -we're talking about prayer as business strategy, about hearing God's voice in major decisions, and about that moment when you realize you're never actually alone.

Why "I will make a way for you" became Ioana's anchor through the scariest decisions

How to use intuition and prayer as actual business strategy (seriously)

The difference between fear marketing and desire marketing - and why it matters for your soul

Why surrendering control actually gives you more power in business and life

How to trust that inner voice when it's telling you to make a major life change - even when it seems crazy to everyoneelse

How Ioana replaced her teaching income within months through freelance writing - starting with zero experience

The power of win probability and why responding to existing opportunities beats cold pitching every time

How to build a business that travels with you

In this episode, we talk about Ioana's beautiful journey from small-town Texas to Barcelona, Spain - how she left everything behind to chase her dreams to build a career in a suitcase.

If you're listening to this as a working mother, maybe feeling lost in a job that doesn't fulfill you, or maybe freelancing but feeling like you're constantly on a hamster wheel, I want you to know that there's another way.

You can build systems that protect you. You can create products from your expertise. You can set up streams of income that don't require you to trade every hour for a dollar. It's not easy, and it's not instant, but it's absolutely possible.

Key Takeaways:

Scarcity kills sustainability: You cannot build a lasting intuitive business based on fear and short-term thinking

Contracts are your safety net: Short-term projects are fine for short-term money, but long-term success requires protective agreements

Systems trump scrambling: The All-In system emerged from crisis but became the foundation of consistent client acquisition

Professional relationships require mutual respect: If you give notice, they should too

Passive income is possible: Digital products can create freedom while you focus on family

Teams amplify your impact: You don't have to do everything yourself – collaboration accelerates success

Risk-taking is essential: The biggest breakthroughs come from the biggest leaps

Mindset creates possibilities: Believing in endless possibilities isn't naive – it's necessary for growth
